  1. the feature I liked from cm1 was its relative total war coverage. but cm2 is by far the more real game ad infinitum. that said it would be nice if cm2 had two player campaigns or a smarter meeting engagement ai. that said both games are fun but cm2 is just so much more locally speaking.
  2. you got that right I been waiting for a few years for this....Iove all the cm material and this is just more material (chess term :P)
  3. the new game will be great! go BF go Bf non paid helpers! thanks for everything
  4. Hi fine friends I do more lurking then talking since most of you take the wind out of my sails or just plain no more. If our game goes steam I am ok with it. true as one of us said there is a lot of junk but ours is not and that will show through for the company some day. and for us there is just less leg work for updates etc. most of us wil cut through the cheese easly and you can reinstall a game at will to say the least...no more freaky patches. if this post is a reapeat of other I apologize i'm not not the best lurker either :P...thanks for all the great and fun posts..my regards to you and BF staff.
  5. I for one do not care about the issue this so called man has that keeps him alive here. I have been certified by a judge for 11 years so I guess I can go rip off walyworld and plead nut job and go home with the goods to boot. I am not an avid forum poster anywhere to a fault or reader either but I have read enough posts on enough forums to say these posts by Jason; whom I have never read until today; are the most abusive to his targets then anyone I have ever read. There are flamer forums out there desighned just for him for reals so those don't count. CM as a game can only hope to hint at the reality of the horror of war and no game ever will or should. For as good as cm is its just a very cool miniatures game in the end and that's all. we are here because we like to play army. As for the campaign. I think its the coolest set of scenarios for solitaire I ever tried..game three is as far as I have gone and with many trys. I have played mission one at least ten times (never finished it just hit the escape pod button when I thought I was being a bad commander.i wish ithekial would play through number 3 wich I think is a work of art. as far as our original poster's problem. that battle is a reverse slope puzzle and should plan from the german 2nd line. I just selected all of the left flank battalion and moved it over and did not bother even setting up. it makes no real difference. I very quickly and safely made the first line and the save is nagging me to open it again. don't bunch up and stay in one place very long and use your heavy stuff on anything that resembles a fortification as they start to fill in and keep moving ...the slope works for you as much as against you.
  6. are the dead cow stink bmps more recource demanding then smoke from a burning vehicle?...if so would somebody help me nerf the file..i cant find it.
  7. do not forget the cease fire button..if you are winning i see no reason to not use it to at least save time.
  8. i would think if russia were to have any doings here in the u.s it would be up in alaska...otherwise in my opinion its a big stretch of fantasy to simulate a full scale war in the 48. the Logistics alone prohibit that. If its fantasy we are after then we are only limited by the game itself.
  9. this is all a new industry standard. sell a popular title in little bite sized (battlefront = spensive bites) pieces in order to 1..you guessed it and 2 to have us get the pre order after death plan. Has anyone figured out strategic commnd yet?. And one more thing. What does bagration have to do with anything without barbarossa first?...is it abuse or do they just want us to wait for the commercial? If these guys dont shape up i bet matirx has a cheap and crappy version of cm karkov 40 something. happy gaming
  10. my games crash if i hit the windows button while something is loading. but thats not a bother since if i think the game is crashed i can crash the game to escape quickly. best bug i ever met
  11. ack! for all that trouble you could be playing cmrt yeah cmbb has the whole war etc...now you have me wanting to check to see if my old cmbb works better then it did in win 7 wich it worked ok but had a graphic bug at the top of the screen. if i spend all day trying to figure this all out its your alls fault
  12. these scnarios are so freaking goood. but they are so cruel!..that damned tower i thought i hade beet when the squads in the deep flank over the rail road ruined my night. i earned that damned tower i tell you!...that said if you like making scn keep making them..if you like company stuff you might haVE OR get a hold of some old asl stuff and convert them. the boards are all on the net virtual style and easy to obtain. if you did not already know all this. I made a movie of this disaster. The horror:P
  13. the built up areas and roads of cmbs seem to make the maps modern to me even if they are the ukrain and not the mass forest of the upper dneper! but i like the fences because they look human ..weather worn and neglected. who wants a white fence when one can own a copy of cmbs for instance
  14. crickets bah..how about a no back ground sound mod! and while some merciful moder is making the no sound battle front can add an option to the ui for CRYING OUT LOUD. *mumbles something about persistant sounds in his favorite titles that he cant make go away*
  15. hmmm how do i reply to this debate or freindly discussion about our national guard. my educated guess is that its a mixed bunch. i have known personaly a guard soldier. he was certainly well trained and i would say half active army if that makes sense. i know another one that was my church pastor for a while. both of these soliders how do i say it without causing trouble. used means to numb themselves(please understand that these soldiers do not represent the majority by any means) from the certain knowladge that a horrible death or injury could be a few days away. afganistan happend shortly after i last talked to my friend and iraq shortly after as we all know and i would say if he was activated and sent to the war he would have been green despite his training and love for the army. i am sure that he would not have been assighned a rescue mission if more experieanced troops were available. In fact rescues are carried out by crack or better speacial units and not the job for regular grunts. i will have to give the scenario a try. as i am very green my self.
  16. What is this bash thread for. our thread starter payed a fair sum of money and wants his frustration suppressed..no pun intended The company thought the man important enough to answer his question quickly and specific. As far as I can tell the customer did not continue his rant so pfff
  17. I have found in my ai games that using small teams as a security advance element helps quite a bit in uncovering enemy positions/ bunkers on the far flanks and close by grave yards coverd by the enemy. only that team suffers theoretically and now at least you can make intelligent decisions if you have your main force mostly out of enemy view. also smoke rocks the house for mad dashes even for recon elements to suddenly be infiltrating the enemy security screen wich will die quicly by a few su76 rounds:P
  18. This is a very interesting thread. I need instruction also and I appreciate the replys you have been receiving. I find one thing funny tho. In your last statement you mention tanks as your only means in open areas. That's why the tank was invented! and cm3 makes it very clear that you better have your **** together if your going to take any position reasonably defended. CMRT is the hardest game I ever owned in lue of chess of coarse which is king of hard. Again thanks for the instruction replies:)!
