  1. This should not be happening. I know the campaign was checked with only the British module activated and it worked. Just to double check, what is your version # in the bottom right hand corner of the main screen?
  2. The campaign does not need the Marines module. There is one unit in one scenario which was included in both the British module and the Marines module. For those who have both modules, both green dots come on for this reason.
  3. In the first mission, Border Crossing, there are a total of 2 Javelin teams, so not sure how you managed to get 4. Can you post a screenshot? There are a total of 21 missions in the campaign, 16 of which you will have the chance to play depending on your successes or which path you choose to take.
  4. Each battle was gone over and adjusted to reflect the MAJOR engine changes since version 1. Triggers, map tweaks, bridges, more AI groups, different routes of attack, enhanced coordination between Opfor units, tweeks to objectives and a reworked campaign script adjusting resupply and refit to better reflect the reality of the difficulty of the campaign. Treat the advice of @Ultradave as gold and remember to save often.
  5. This has been tested throughly and does not need the Marines module to run. Yes the Marines icon is lit but this is due to one assest in one battle being available in both the Marines and British modules.
  6. The Raptors needed to play Matt Thomas more and then maybe they could still have a chance to take acceptable losses! /s Typically the modern titles would be 20% as the maximum and 30% for WW2 titles.
  7. In your download section for the 4.0 bundle upgrades there should be a full installer for each title. Simply download the full installer and run it. Then using the activate new products prompt enter in your activation codes.
  8. Version 2.03 Engine 4, could also be said to be Engine 4, Version 2.03 or Engine 4.203 if you that is what you prefer. Either way, the version numbers you have posted are the most up to date.
  9. If you want to avoid the hard crash issue, load up any other scenario between the two. So for example: Load Test Attack. Save as Test Attack - A Load Scipio Best Scenario Ever. Load Test Attack - A. If you follow this pattern it should be just fine.
  10. I am going to say CMFI for me, but the best CM game is the one you are currently playing. As others have said, all the titles have large and small battles, which are sortable by size in the Battle menu. If you run out of smaller premade battles to play, the quick battle system has the options to play tiny and small battles, both which give very enjoyable fights with reduced unit counts. The key to buying your first CM title is really easy. Preview all the titles on the store page and buy the one you are most interested in. Or better yet, just buy them all as most people here end up doing anyways.
  11. Put the map into the quick battle maps folder and you should be able to find in game.
  12. I have it in the final testing stages now, so I really hope so.
  13. @dmh0667 @markshot have either of you opened a helpdesk ticket? This seems similar to an issue I had in the past and the help desk provided me with a tool to clear my activation and start fresh. CMFI ran with no problems afterwards.
  14. These last few posts are what makes this game so enjoyable and at other times so incredibly frustrating to play. When Lady Luck shines on your men and what had the potential to be a disaster for you instead turns into one for your opponent; hard to beat that. Yet we all know the feeling of being in Elvis's chair.
  15. You should be good to go with activating the games with out needing a new license. I have them all installed on my laptop and desktop. The house full of teenagers must have at least one you can arm twist into a H2H battle!
  16. One piece of the puzzle is to always drop the camera all the way down to pixeltropper eye level and have a look at the terrain. Use the zoom feature and you may find your men can actually see the target building from an action square or two further back than you thought possible from a higher camera angle or there may actuly be a path the assault troops can take that will keep them under cover. Remember in this game you are the commander of every unit, it is not being a gamey bastooge to look through their eyes.
  17. @FlibbyBased on your picture, here is what I would do: 1. Check your mortars to see how many smoke rounds they have. If they have some, great if not, fine. 2. Use one of your HQ units with your SBF and get them to the edge of the hill and then have them move at SLOW until they can see the target house. Have them call in either a smoke mission or short HE mission on the target house. Take note of how long it will take for the fire mission to start. 3. Either have the HQ team HIDE in place or have them slow just back over the edge of the hill out of site. Once your mortar team fires its first spotting round, have the HQ either UNHIDE or move SLOW back over the ridge. They need to see the spotting rounds land in order for the mortar to fire effectively. 4. Move the MG teams up the crest of the ridge while the mortar team is prepping their mission. Once the smoke starts to billow or the HE rounds strike true, have them pop over the ridge, deploy their weapons and rain down suppressive fire on the house. 5. Move your flanking assault team into position and have them start their attack while the smoke is billowing or HE is still falling. They should be in position and moving in for the kill as the last HE rounds are falling. The MG's can fire away while the assault teams move in.
  18. In all the testing I have done with the new patch, the key to good success now is remembering the 4 F's. Find. Fix. Flank. Fire. Gone are the days of Find, Fire, Flee. Units in good cover will stay there until either very panicked or dead. Under your control, use of the evade button will be key to getting men out of harms way. Under the AI control, if they aren't all dead, plan they are still there and a threat.
  19. No. The full installer will give you all the files you need and will contain everything for R2V. When you decide to buy R2V, all you will need to do is use the activate new modules and enter the code.
  20. What is the date for the file you downloaded for the CMFI Full installer? I went to the store website, found my version 4 upgrade order, followed the links for CMFI and the download I have available is labelled CM Fortress Italy v211 Installer dated 7/16/20.
  21. The all in one installers are updated to the newest patched versions. If you are having trouble with the patch, consider downloading them instead.
  22. @semmes One of the problems we run into when playing these games is the tendency to over commit to a battle and suffer far too many losses than a unit would typically take before withdrawing. However, there were certain situations during the war where units were decimated to levels similar to CM levels and it is interesting to take a look at those battles and compare. Every fall my small town of 2000 people hangs pictures off the light posts of the men and women from our community who served in the Canadian Army and have now passed on. I took my kids for a walk and while looking at their faces, saw one young man who was killed in action on July 21st, 1944. I decided to research him and see what unit he was in and where he died. His unit was the Essex Scottish, and the battle he died in was the Battle of Verrieres Ridge, just outside of Caen. I did a little further digging and found the war diary for his unit. On the day he was killed, the Essex Scottish and the South Saskatchewan Regiment both attempted an attack over the same ground, failed and then were counterattacked. The South Saskatchewan Regiment went in first and the Essex backed them up. The Essex's ended up bearing the brunt of the counterattack and suffered severe losses. In 1944, a typical Canadian Regiment was comprised of 36 officers and 809 other ranks, with the rifle companies having 5 officers and 122 other ranks. It was standard practice in the Canadian army to have several officers left out of battle in case the regiment suffered severe losses, they could be rebuilt quickly with an experienced core. So for simplicity sake, taking out those officers, any previous casualties, and the men not at the actual tip of the spear, lets assume both Battalions had 25 officers and 700 other ranks in active combat on July 21st. According to the Essex Scottish war diary, on July 22, there were 14 officers and 287 other ranks not present for roll call. Of those losses, 3 officers were KIA, 8 WIA with 3 MIA. The other ranks suffered 17 KIA, 140 WIA and 130 MIA. The South Saskatchewan war diary does not break up their losses as neatly, 13 officers and 209 other ranks were not present for their roll call on July 22. What this shows is that in hard, brutal fighting, the kind of fighting CM tries to simulate, losses of roughly 50%+ for officers and 30%+ for the other ranks was very much real. If we can make the assumption the NCO's would suffer a similar loss rate as the Officers do, it shouldn't be a stretch to say the losses you are seeing in game represent losses suffered in real life.
  23. While the choice is totally yours, there would be no reason to keep the demo when you own the full version.
  24. I am still working on this and the updated missions are being play tested. I have a few missions left to update but progress is being made. I will admit this campaign is taking a backseat to my gardening work, I have a large family and with all the fun from Corona, I want to make sure I can keep them all fed.
