  1. I have all of the CMx1 and CMx2 games and modules. I don't expect to ever be able to play all the campaigns, scenarios, and Modder content that's available. I'll be just as happy with BF even if they don't release any new modules or game families. If they do, I'll have to buy it and be even further behind in game play than I am now. :-b
  2. I'm running CMSF bundle on a 2010 Mac Pro. I've not experienced this "dreaded" 36% lock up on any of the modules (now watch me have one tonight). I also have CMSF and Marines on boot camp and have never had the issue on that either (Mac Pro and MacBook Pro). I did upgrade to at least 8 GB of RAM on both.
  3. Thank you very much for creating this campaign. I haven't begun playing it yet but I've been downloading all the files you've suggested in your text file. If I may make a suggestion, could you say where each mod file (such as Mord's) is located in the repository? I've been struggling to find some of them. Thanks again for all your efforts.
  4. I believe there are five missions in each campaign. That could be misleading though. At a certain point, you might get an easier or more difficult follow-up mission based on your score in the previous mission.
  5. Jammer six, I've run CM X 1 and Shock Force w/Marines module on PC (using boot camp) and all of the CM X 2 games (and modules) released to date on my Mac. I've played a lot of PBEM with a friend who uses a PC and we've never had a problem with the PBEM games or files. How about you send me a PM with the issues you're experiencing, and maybe I can help you to sort things out. BTW, i haven't experienced the "81% bug" (that I know of) in SF either. I have that on the Mac side also with all three modules.
  6. I just assumed that the concept and layout is because you'd usually expect an aircraft (airplane or helicopter) to go down behind enemy lines. The enemy would go all out to capture that pilot or crew member for intelligence interrogation. Ergo, surronding the aircrew. That's why you'd have long-range teams in to extract, especially if you couldn't get a "Jolly Green" in there to make the pickup.
  7. When I was a rifle platoon sgt, long long ago, every man carried additional rounds for the platoon M-79 (blooper) and later for the M-203 in each fire team. If we were reinforced with an M-60 machine gun sqd (two guns), each man would carry an additional 200 or 400 7.62 rounds for the guns. If we had a a 60mm mortar section (three tubes) attached, each man in the plt carried one or two 60mm rounds for the tubes. I don't find it unusual that "teams" would have rounds for a 320 (?) even if they don't have a 320 (?). What I do find unusual is that a scout team would have rounds for a weapon they don't have. If I was sending out a scout team, I'd make sure they left with their sqd ldr, any ammo they didn't need so we wouldn't lose it if we lost that team. That said, the smallest team I'd send out to scout would be a fire team (with a grenade launcher). That is the smallest unit in a Marine rifle platoon. I don't think I'd ever split up a fire team. I would have expected the game to redistribute the additional ammo in the same way it does with hand grenades for an assault team.
  8. I might have misunderstood your comment, but in the "Backs to the Wall" scenario of the U.S. Campaign, the U.S./Ukr mine field indicators are visible to the U.S. player. I just completed that one.
  9. Could be useful if the tank has APS. Firing one at a time could allow the APS to defeat each shot.
  10. Quick question; what does MOUT stand for? I don't remember hearing the acronym when I was in the grunts, albeit that was more than 40-years ago. I imagine the "UT" stands for urban terrain. Is it an Army acronym?
  11. What's worse is when you order the Javelin team to fire at a T90, and it shoots at a BMP-3 instead. In this mission, I have four Javelins to take out five or six T90's. Red force has a bucket load of BMP-3s too, but I'd rather take the chance on using an AT4 on a BMP where at least I have a chance of killing it and save the Javelins for the tanks. No matter what I tried, the Javelin team refused to fire on the tank I targeted and shot it's last Javelin at the BMP. I'd think the AI would have the same order of fire as real life. If the Javelin team sees a T90 and a BMP-3, It should take out the T90 even if the BMP is closer.
  12. Got mine about a week ago. Took about three or four days after I received notice. I think I'm probably within 100 miles of BFC. Wonder if they have an outlet store (we are talking Maine here)
  13. Yup, I used a javelin team to target a Russian MANPAD, in the open, in "Poking the Bear." Even though the MANPAD was within small arms range of the javelin team, the AI used a javelin to take out the MANPAD. that really surprised me. You just can't just tell the team to use the javelin.
  14. Regarding CaptainHawkeye's question about our response to insurrection in Texas, we're talking about decisions made about 150 to 170 years ago. Texas actually seceded from the Union during the U.S. Civil War and lost. I have read that the primary reason Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation was to prevent Great Britain from entering the war on the side of the Confederacy, as they were about to do. Allies and enemies change constantly depending on the circumstances and are rarely static. The question here is the reaction of the Balitc States and NATO in game terms. Let's all pray that those decisions are never necessary in real life.
  15. The 25 million number was not from the OP. I misremembered that number from U.S. Public Broadcasting System documentary. It seems from this http://www.conservapedia.com/Ukrainian_genocide that the number was "only" around 11 million across the Soviet Union, including 6.5 million Ukraines and 3 million children. Russia still refuses to acknowledge it. I don't know how reliable the referenced site is, but they do include references to the condemnations of many countries and individuals. The time frame was 1932 to 1937. It may be one of the root reasons why the Baltic States are concerned about Russia. I seriously doubt that it is taught as part of history in Russia, so I'd be reluctant to label anyone as a "denier."
  16. Is the famine to which you refer the "Bitter Harvest" when Stalin forced the Ukranian farmers to become collectives by causing 25 million Ukranians to starve to death?
  17. You missed the Archangel invasion by the joint British and U.S. In (I believe) 1919 to defeat the Bolsheviks. The area seems well justified in its fear of invasion by outside powers.
  18. The utility that pnzrldr suggested is on green as jade's (GAJ) cmmods site. It's author is Mad Mike. There are two utilities; one for CMBS and another for the CMX2 version 3 offerings. The utility splits out the individual missions as scenarios in their own folder, puts them into a sortable list, and in most cases provides a flowchart of the campaign missions with the win rating needed to progress to the next mission. While you are on the cmmods site, please donate to the GAJ site. He provides a great service to us and exists on the donations we provide. Please help ensure the modders have someplace to list all their mods.
  19. You all can have some of mine. I have up to four feet of it on my roof an the same or more in my yard
  20. Tunguska can use it's 30mm gun to shoot down a raven. The Raven is too small to shoot down with a SAM. It's all explained in the manual.
  21. OK, looked up my mission flowchart. If you get a "draw" or better in the outskirts, you get the "easy Poking the Bear." If you lose the outskirts, you get the "hard Poking the Bear." I'm not going to say what the differences between the two versions are because of the spoiler factors. There are different versions of the following missions too depending on how you do on a preceding mission. All of the campaigns have them.
  22. I believe that you have the "hard" mission if you have stingers and the Russians have CAS. Not sure how the assignment is determined since I have the "easy" one, and I got 1375 out of 1400 in the previous mission because I damaged a preserve building. I think that one was a "total" victory. I'll look at my mission tree from the broken out campaign when I get home to see if there's a min/max determination to the selection. Don't go by the reinforcements on the tactical map in the briefing. Mine said "MANPADS," even though I have the easy one. I have about 40 minutes left in "Poking." I feel proper use of UAV and precision arty is key.
  23. My Allied opponent in CMBN "Cats vs. Dogs" took out two of my tracks with one 37mm round from a Greyhound. It is aggravating.
