  1. LOL. So it' s you voice i am hearing everytime i am playing CM as americans? Hey, and did you also do the voice acting in "Mords Vocal Mayham Mod"? That was SO awesome . After installing it i laughed almost everytime i heard one of my guys scream something like "Sh*t, i see a TANK, TAAANK! Gunner, light the motherf*cker up, ENGAGE!"
  2. During a police raid in Kiel, Germany, police found, amongst other WW2 weapons and munitions, a V1, a Panther tank and a torpedo in his villas basement and garage. They called the Bundeswehr to help them transport and disarm the weapons. http://www.welt.de/regionales/hamburg/article143408616/Weltkriegs-Panzer-in-Wohnhauskeller-gefunden.html http://www.shz.de/lokales/kiel/video-razzia-in-heikendorf-panzer-und-torpedos-in-villa-bei-kiel-id10112661.html
  3. Kieme, you havent answeared yet, do you accept my challenge? Or are you afraid ?
  4. I know you are all gonna hate me now, but the death yells havent changed since CMx1, which was released in June 2000, 15 years ago. Skip to 2:40 to hear a german getting shot.
  5. LOL reading this makes me want to try my luck against Kieme as well . I dont have a lot of H2H experience, but after criticizing Waltz' tactics, i would like to see if mine are actually better. What do you say, Kieme, same map, ME?
  6. @Kiema: Very nice AAR, thanks! @Waltz: As far as i see it, the reasons for your defeat seem to be a lack of reconnaisance and a bad force choice. You brought 5 T-90s and 11 BMPs to a fight vs. 9 M1A2s (2x4+1 HQ) and 4 Bradleys on an open, tank friendly map, which made a Russian victory already seem unlikely from the very beginning. The lack of reconnaisance let your BMPs bump into the 9 M1A2s by accident, sealing their (the BMPs) fate, and when you sent in your numerically inferior tanks to save or revenge the BMPs, not knowing as you said that Kieme had brought 2 M1A2 platoons, this was the beginning of the end. Kieme seem also not to have conducted any sort reconnaisance but instead relied on the strength of his M1A2s, advancing line abreast, in case he makes contact unexpectedly. You could use this knowledge to your advantage in future battles, Waltz.
  7. Under Windows Vista or later, navigate to C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Battlefront and look for your mod files there. Alternatively, they could also be there: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Battlefront\Combat Mission Shock Force If they are in the second location, you must in the future start CMSF with administrator rights to prevent that from happening again. If none of the above helps, try to search your computer for the files of the uniform mod using the integrated search function of Windows (or any other OS you are using).
  8. It really does have pupils: Well the T-90 does feed on human blood, doesnt it? It had a particular appetite for Chechens in the recent years and some say it' s already licking its lips in anticipation of what will happen next in Ukraine. Also this reminds me of Metallica, No Remorse: "Blood feeds the war machine as it eats its way across the land We don't need to feel the sorrow No remorse is the one command"
  9. Generally yes, but i dont know whether or not the mortars i chose are capable of delivering precision strikes. AFAIK only the 2S34 and 2A65 howitzers and the 2B11 mortar have laser guided ammunation, the other Russian artillery pieces dont. You also must use a spotter equipped with a laser designbator if you want to use precisions strikes as Russians, only the Americans have the luxury of GPS guided munitions.
  10. In terms of cool looks, the T-90A us superior to all other tanks. Damn. Shtora makes it looks so badass.
  11. I managed to get a minor victory. It was extremely bloody, but in the end i could hold the village in the center. Probably i made some tactical mistakes, but it IS a difficult scenario. I will try it again, but this time as Russians.
  12. Hmmm maybe it' s too large for the forum, i left it at 1920x1080 because i though the text would be too difficult to read if i scaled it down. Here is a direct link to the image: http://s22.postimg.org/88cw0sjvz/forces.jpg Just open the link, you should see it in your browser then. And let me know if the link works for you now, it' s the first time i have used this particular image host.
  13. If you choose the force i adviced you, your main AT asset is going to be your force of 5 T-90s. Their job will be to destroy your opponents M1A2 and to kill the bulk of the enemy infantry. Regarding the M1A2, dont try to take on them 1on1. Use your Zala drone to locate them and then attack them with a numerically overwhelming attack of your T90s. The BTR-82As will - at best - scratch some of the paint off an M1A2 MBT, so dont even think of using them as AT weapons, but given the MOUT terrain of the map you are going to play, they will be usefull vs. any US APC/IFV your opponent can buy. The BTRs dont have any long range ATGMs, but their 30mm cannon fire will go through a Bradleys frontal armor like a knife through hot butter.
  14. My guess is that it has to do something with the Fog of War. Your guys on the ground dont necessarily know whether or not an enemy vehicles has actually been destroyed, meaning damaged beyond repair, they just know that it has been hit and that it currently appears to be inactive.
  15. I just opened the QB purchase screen and for the 5350 popints you get you cant buy much actually. I would purchase the following setup: Note: all units are Regular, High, Fit, 0 Leadership, Mortars are On Map. Of the T-90s, 3 are Veterans. The Tunguskas and the 2 additional T-90AMs are purchased as Single Vehicles, the Air Controller as specialist team. Also dont forget the Zala at the bottom! It' s worth it. EDIT: Someone is certainly going to comment on my choice of a BTR-82A based formation instead of a BMP-2/3 one. I chose the BTR-82As because they are simply about 50-70% cheaper than their tracked cousins and the only real drawback they have compared to the BMP-2 is the lack of ATGMs. The map also looks like there is going to be a lot of close combat/MOUT happening, so Doug probably wont miss the ATGMs anyways. I think he is better off with 3 Infantry platoons in BTR-82As and 5 T-90AMs instead of 2 platoons in BMP-2s and 3 T-90AMs.
  16. Has anyone of you played this scenario as Ukrainians? I find it to be insanely brutal* - it' s extremely rare that i struggle playing vs. the AI, but currently i am about half way through and numerically the odds are 1:1, i killed lots of Russians and they blew up lots of my guys. Shtora is is one of the reasons i find this scenario so difficult - it renders the UKR infantrys ATGMs practically useless and at long ranges, the UKR tanks are using their ATGMs as well, which makes killing the T90s extremely hard, at least for me. If this was a real battle and if i was the real life Ukrainian commander, i would avoid a fight with a russian force that large, i would retreat upon spotting the company of T90s and come back with a force twice as big, some air support and a ton of arty, but that' s not an option in CMBS. Any tips? How did you approach Duelling Sashkas? *That' s supposed compliment to the scneario designer, btw, i like scenarios that are a fight to the last man.
  17. You still get a 30 day trial, that' s why i always register a new account when i upload images at imageshack. BTW recently i found an awesome 100% free game recording software. It' s called OBS - Open Broadcaster Software - and it' s so much better than Fraps. A 60 seconds video of CMBS gameplay is probably 1,5 GB if recorded with Fraps but only about 10MB when record with OBS. Naturally the 100 times larger video recorded by Fraps is of much higher quality, but if the only thing you want do is to upload it to youtube, quality doesnt really matter anyways.
  18. Bil this is really cool. I added the thread to my favorites in Firefox. I will have to try this too (as soon as i have fully understood how it works - it looks rather complex).
  19. I am currently playing Bridgehead at Kahralyk as well, but as US and vs. the AI. I am 108 turns in and i dont think the Russians have much left... I would like to go into detail on how the scenario played out, but i dont want to put any spoilers ITT. I liked it though, and i kinda knew you designed it . It looks and plays a lot like Forging Steel.
  20. But it' s baseless speculation. As far i know we have only proof of a single Russian vehicle beeing incorrectly modeled, that' s all. At best this could be counted as incidential evidence for you claim, but that' s by far not enough to prove that there is an intentional pattern in the accuracy of the way Battlefront modeled & researched the vehicles in CMBS. AFAIK it hasnt been examined yet how accurately the US vehicles are modeled, it hasnt been examined yet how accurately the other Russian vehciles are modeled, we dont have an explanation from Battlefront (who are really the only ones who can give a first hand account of the events that led to the T-90A beeing incorrectly modeled), so basically, we no nothing about why the T-90A in CMBS looks the way does. It' s entirely possble that the 3D modeler just made a mistake, for exmaple. I did some 3D modeling myself and i know it can easily happen that some polygons end up beeing improperly aligned, and really all it takes are some ambigous blueprints and you end up with a weird looking model. But that' s specualtion too, the truth is, we dont really know why the T-90A in CMBS ended up looking like it does.
  21. No i didnt notice that. And what is a yutze please? It doesnt sound like a compliment, but i couldnt find it in any dictionary. That depends a lot on what you think the goal of the game is. If it' s only goal was to simulate tactical WW2 combat, correctly depicted uniforms wouldnt be necessary at all, the only thing that would have to be correctly modeled would be the weapon systems and the capabilities of the soldier in the uniforms. If it' s goal though is to create an immersive game environment, correctly depicted uniforms matter too.
  22. Battlestar Galactica, I loved that show! Caprica Six (the blonde Cylon wearing the red dress who can be seen in the background of your pic) may be a cold blooded manipulative murderous sociopathic religious fanatic, but damn she looks hot. I still kinda envy Gaius Baltar...
  23. When the self aware Armata turns 13: "But dad, i dont want to wear green camo! It makes me look fat!" "But dad, all my friends have infantry dismounts, why cant i have some too? What do you mean, i hang out too much with those BMP-3s? They are my friends!" "But dad, I dont want to be a mean killing machine! I am vegetarian, you know?."
