I uploaded the latest H2H version of this scenario to the Repository moments ago. It should be made available within the next couple of days. Download: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=2801 The Red (FSA) vs. Blue (SAA) AI version is still beeing tested.

This forum and 4chan compare to each other like heaven and hell.

A fresh, cold Weißbier is the best bait for catching Germans on a hot summer day After looking at that picture, i want one now, lol. Oh my god i want one so badly...

Well, that is what war is like, ZPBII. Im glad that Europe is a rather peaceful place today, at least when compared against its very violent past.

That depends on the situation. For example i think that when we have CMSF2 a meeting engagement between US and Russian forces could be designed in a way so it is roguhly equally challenging for both sides, at least when played H2H. By the way the question was an honest one, i wasnt trying to imply any critique. I havent played any of JonS scenarios except 18 Platoon as British, i mostly play CMSF.
-
Well, they can be played both vs AI, but are they also equally challenging?
-
Really? I think think it is Shift+click you need to press to be able to drag select units. But probably that is to much for that guy, pressing two buttons at once i mean .

The Sheriff of Oosterbeek – A Scenario Design DAR/AAR
agusto replied to JonS's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
I have a specific question about how the timing of AI plans works: In the left lower corner of the AI plan window, i can define the following values for each order: Exit Before: 00:00 Exit After: 01:00 My question is now: are those the total time values meassured from the start of the game or are those the times the unit is going to stay within the painted order zone? -
I sent the latest H2H version to the email adress you provided at the FGM forums. You are going to need the following 2 mods in order to have everything displayed properly: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=2283 http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=126 Additionally i would also recommend you these 2: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=1505 http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=537

Well, i am glad you like it, black_prince and CrackSabbath. I recently decided to split the scenario into two slightly different versions: one to be played Red vs. AI and one optimized for H2H. The H2H version could still need some testing in order to fine tune balancing, so if anyone wants to test it, i would apreciate that.

 Those civillian cars driving right through the middle of a firefight...

That was an exception. In most cases though i bet the T-72 is going to win the duell vs. the 12,7mm armed Stryker. If had to kill a T-72 and the option to choose between all weapons available in CMSF, the 12,7mm would probably be the last weapon capable of damaging a tank that i would choose.

23mm vs. tank = bad match up: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=c85_1373699078

So, where to start? I would recommend you to watch the following videos: CMBN Monster Tutorial: Although its CMBN, the game mechanics are more or less the same (excption: on-map mortars). Then, more advanced, there are the Armchair General tactic tutorials, made by a real life retired US Army Colonel: That is Episode 6, but there are 5 more of those videos. You can easily find them on Youtube. Those are again WW2 videos but the basic tactics applied ther also work very well in CMSF. I would very much recommend you to watch those 6 videos, they are really great for learning the basic concepts of land warfare you will need in CM games. Regarding CMSF Tactics, tanit aka tryspawn did a great series of AARs where he explains his tactics very well. You can find them here: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=94176

A direct hit with a 155mm calibre shell or bigger will clear a mined action spot.

I agree with ZPB II. IMO CMFI has the more interesting and diverse terrain.
