  1. Actually, the Red Army of 1944 was in many points of view a more modern Army than the German. It had left behind the tactics of 1941-42, when desperation had dominated many decisions of the STAVKA. But the myth, that Soviet Commanders everywhere and always donated there units regardless of the losses, ist still alive - mainly caused by the German Propaganda and reports, which always (during the war and after) tried to show the picture of kind of "zombie-like" Russian Soldiers, running into the enemy fire in their thousands. Two veterans of the 3.SS-Panzer-Division, who reported me about almost the whole war in the East, always described the individual Soviet Soldiers as some kind of crafty, shifty and extraordinary courageous - and those veterans could remember only one short period of the war, they had been witnesses of real human wave attacks - during the defense around the Lushno-Sector in late September 1941. Regards Frank
  2. Like said above - I could not resist to do an EF Scenario for CMBN My apologizes for critisizing anybody creating stuff like Bulge etc. I have created a small map of Pavlov´s house in Stalingrad with the surrounding area. Instead of Red Army, I set up Polish. If there should be any interest, I could upload it to the repository the next weekend..... Regards Frank
  3. But the base CMRT game won´t include Hungary and October 1944
  4. Thanks, MikeyD and Steve, it is actually difficult to find successful German actions during this period of the war. There were some interesting counter-attacks, if one looks at the more local scale. An interesting aspect is the action of some of the German Tiger-Battalions in this region. I have asked, because I am searching some options for creating a German Campaign. Regards Frank
  5. I have three questions about CMRT: 1. Which period of the war, we will be able to play? May 44 to September 44? 2. Will there be three huge front regions (North, Middle and South) like in CMBB? 3. There is one German Campaign announced - which region or better which specific period, units and actions will this one include? Regards Frank
  6. If he´s Timoty - then he is Timothy, the depressed JAGD-TIGER
  7. Will the first module really include the whole last period of the war until May 1945? I am sorry, if this question has been answered before Regards Frank
  8. Hey Erwin, I tried to make the missions as a mix of everything...from the beach-landing to house to house fighting...and I am glad, if you have some fun with the campaign Regards Frank
  9. Hey Jaeger Jonzo, nice to hear, that you have fun with the campaign so long please, give me a small Feedback, if you have finished the fightings... Regards Frank
  10. Another point is, that some of the few guys, who keep the "designing area" alive, aren´t able to work with the great stuff, they get from BF. When CMBN was released, some guys wanted to mod it to the Italian Theatre or even to the Pacific, when CMFI was released, some guys wanted to mod it to the Bulge and when oneday CM-Battle for the Venus will be released, some guys will mod it to Battle for the Mars There are so many possibilities to create wonderful stuff for Gustav-Line for example. From July 1943 to July 1944...summer...winter...Why is it necessary to make half-hearted Bulge-stuff instead? I don´t understand the world Regards Frank
  11. @sburke: I don´t want to be misunderstood with my comments. I would be really very glad, if you for example would release a campaign for CMBN or CMFI.... because I love playing campaigns. But how many guys here have announced to create huge/fantastic campaigns? And the results? I remember titles like Montelimar, Carillon Nose etc. etc...The reason for these sad results is: IT IS too much effort to create such campaigns and most of them, who try to get it, will fail sooner or later --- not least, because there are much more important things in real life than sitting in front of a PC and building CM-stuff And that´s the reason for my opinion, campaigns should be created in some kind of "professional" way by designers, who get at least a small salary for doing this. Regards Frank
  12. I always hear: "It isn't hard to create a campaign" but actually I haven't seen any user-made one until today. Only great words...And I want to see the reaction of the community, if someone presents a non-historical campaign which has been built in a few hours...:-) Regards Frank
  13. I totally agree with your last sentence RepsolCBR...but it seems to me as if BF does not care about such discussions like this one...
  14. @jkobmadrid: It wasn´t me there were some German Engineers in the area and I couldn´t stop them, placing their toys By ending the last Mission so early, you have missed some really really heavy Crackers, which had helped you to reduce your anger about the mines Regards Frank
  15. There is one point during these discussions (there have been similar threads in the past), I still can´t understand: What risk would BF take, if they would sell Campaign-Packs? Costs for producing some disks? IMO it would be a win-win situation. Either the community would be glad to have new stuff of high quality and the majority of the customers would pay 10 or 15 Dollars ...or the whole idea would become a failure, because almost nobody would buy such stuff - in this case, BF had to throw some CDs into the garbage can
  16. Hey, like said above, with the growing number of moduls, it will become a problem for Battlefront to create enough new stuff for the community. IMO it is very important for a really "living" game to get especially new campaigns regularly. And the solution for this problem would be easy: BF would sell Campaign/Scenario-Packs including for example 2-3 campaigns and 7-8 single Scenarios. I would pay 10-15 Dollars (even Euro ) for such a pack. The designers would participate with for example 5-10% of the income. I have made three campaigns for CM and invested dozens of hours. But with a wife and kids and working as a traumatic surgery, I can´t explain this time consuming hobby to my family. They say: "You are crazy to create such stuff for nothing" and they are right. I have sent a message to BF one or two years ago and asked them, if it would be possible to get paid for creating campaigns but they didn´t even answer. Regards Frank p.s.: Of course, there may be many much better designers outside than me, but until now I haven´t found any user-made campaigns for CMBN/CMFI except my ones....and that´s a pity...
  17. That´s my impression, too. The usual comment, many designers get, sounds like that: " Your campaign/scenario is not fun, because I wasn´t able to get a total victory with my first attempt...." or " the scenario xy is not fun, because I didn´t get a total victory after saving/reloading 500000000 times..." or somethings like: "Although CM is a realistic simulation, I don´t want to play realistic scenarios, because I always want to feel like a winner...."
  18. First of all, thanks to Frankster65 and Buzz @ jkobmadrid: Come on...you are calling the "Santa Maria" Mission seriously a "headache mission"? I cannot believe your words...this mission shouldn´t be a problem for any CM-player, who has the experience of about 1-2 missions against the AI... Don´t forget, you are fighting against some second rate Italians It would be interesting to hear the opinion of other players but usually the feedback in this forum tends towards nothing... The first user-made campaign for GL up to now, some months after release --- 131 downloads so long --- three forum-comments --- one repository-comment --- two 5-stars ratings (the third 5-stars rating was placed by myself, I confess )... One must be a real masochist to invest his free time in keeping alive this great game
  19. Yes, campaigns are only playable in single player modus - and usually only as axis OR allies, not both. This one is for example only as allies vs axis AI. Regards Frank
  20. It's a pleasure, to create battles and campaigns :-) if I had more time, I would create mich Moore oft them... Regards Frank
  21. @ Jaeger Jonzo: I have uploaded only the campaign, not the single battles, so it´s not H2H, sorry I put it into the Gustav Line Repository, because it is only playable with the GL modul (British an d Canadian troops). Regards Frank
  22. I have just uploaded the campaign to the repository. Hope, you will have some fun with it It should be an easy run for most of the players but you never know... One thing, you will notice, is the large time limit, the player gets. I have decided to do so, because IMO nothing is worse than to play a battle and be interrupted by the shot-clock....so, the majority of players may have finished the single missions with much time left... Regards Frank
  23. Papertiger ?!? Ok, I quit everything No, I am sure, the concept of my campaign will not crash with any other plans of HJ-Campaigns @Champagne: You mean Meyer´s history of the 12.SS. Regards Frank
  24. After finishing my small GL-Campaign, I got a new idea It will probably cost me a whole year and there is no promise, if it will ever come to a release...But I have decided to make a campaign about the 12.SS-Panzer-Division"Hitlerjugend", because there is a leck of stuff about this famous unit. With the experience of three campaigns, I have created until today, I am aware of the fact, that it is absolutely impossible for me, to create such huge campaigns with 15 or more middle/huge sized scenarios - I simply haven´t got the time. So, I will create the campaign a little bit different Regards Frank
  25. In another thread, there´s the question, if CM is dying because of a leck of user made scenarios/campaigns - so, I wanna help to keep it alive After some months with several interruptions, I have finished my small campaign yesterday. Now, it is going through a last playtesting and will be available soon. Regards Frank
