  1. Unfortunately, he stopped his great work after Mission 2 Regards Frank
  2. I have found these great Videos on YouTube --- you have to search for "Zawiya Mission". Enjoy!!! Regards Frank
  3. Hi Rokko, you mean vol.5a? I have read the pages 48 and 49 - no Panthers only Tigers I, Mark IV and assault guns during this period. The I.Bn of SS-Panzer-Regiment 3 was reorganized and equipped with Panthers in Grafenoehr,Germany and Mailly le Camps, France - these Panther saw their first actions at the end of july 44 during the fighting around the town of Siedlce. Regards Frank
  4. Hi Rokko, during the period, 3rd SS Totenkopf was fighting in the Grodno area, the SS-Panzer-Regiment 3 did not consist of Panthers. The Panthers belonged to the new formed I.Abteilung, which had its first combat around the Siedlce area. Near Grodno, there were only Panzer IV of the II.Abteilung and Tigers of the heavy Company of SS-Panzer-Regiment 3. Regards Frank
  5. Nice try but I am driving a "Volkswagen" Regards Frank
  6. @GhostRider 3/3: Thanks, I will send you a pm when playtesting starts in some weeks. I will try to find enough testers, so every volunteer should only test 1 or maximum 2 single battles... @Fizou and Lille: Thanks guys, I´ll do my best At the moment, I am already dreaming of CM maps until now, three maps of > 1,5x1,5km are finished and three of about 1,2x1,2km are under construction...and some more are waiting So, I hope, you will have patience with me Regards Frank
  7. Some new impressions today 30% of the map work is done...and I started with the very early testing stage...have downloaded Vein´s fantastic TK-mod... the area north of the town of Sokolka Regards Frank
  8. Today, I have uninstalled my CMSF. Before, I have uploaded all the 8 single battles of my "Zawiya Uprising" Campaign. Someone asked for this some months ago, unfortunately I had forgotten to do so. You will find them under CMSF - Repository - Nato (this module is necessary). I have only extracted the battles, so nothing has changed. They all should be playable as Blue vs AI and if you use the editor, it should be easy to make them playable H2H. Of course, everybody is free to use the maps for creating own stuff. Regards Frank
  9. Working on a campaign, named "Tiger Trail"...from platoon to company sized some screenshots are uploaded yet...release date maybe september/october... Regards Frank
  10. Some new impressions... The village of Wolowicowce Tiger waiting for victims at the eastern edge of Racicze Regards Frank
  11. I have played this Baranovichi-battle, too. And I agree with you Oddball - the briefing leads you into the death But the main problem IMO is: the map is to narrow. There are no other options than 1)attack straight forward or 2) attack carefully running down the centre of the map. For tank battles (everything with more than 5 tanks on each side) size of maps must be huger - and that´s a huge amount of work to create... Regards Frank
  12. I am sorry...no I have made this map long ago for CMBN in anticipation for the eastfront... Regards Frank
  13. ...from the Stalingrad-Travel Guide Regards Frank
  14. Trying to upload a picture of the first finished map (must improve my uploading skills ). The small village of Razizce, northwest of Grodno. One of the places, the Tigers will meet Regards Frank
  15. Great video - hope, this guy will do more of them Regards Frank
  16. I don´t want to be unkindly but did you ever see any pictures of Stalingrad? What you are creating may become a fantastic map but absolutely nothing like Stalingrad... Regards Frank
  17. The question for me is: Does the CM-engine calculate each hit for every single soldier (for example headshot, leg cut off by shrapnels etc.) - in this case, I would agree, that the number of KIA in CM is higher than in reality because players usually are not carefully enough (like said above). Actually, I think, the engine is only able to register "hit" or "not hit" and then calculates a random ratio - in this case, I would like the sytem beeing improved Regards Frank
  18. @Oddball: the 3:1 ratio refers to frontline casualties. Most combat reports (Allies and Germans) mention approximately those numbers. Only in few cases, the number of KIA is higher than the number of WIA (for example the casualties of some Siberian Units during the battle of Moscow 41, when the order was to fight to the last man). Regards Frank
  19. Yes I know, it´s a very old topic - but I still can´t understand the ratio between the number of KIA and the number of WIA, Combat Mission is using  I have played a small battle for playtesting (mostly Infantry) and the following result was shown: KIA 22 --- WIA 12 --- MIA 3 Ok, may be the next field hospital was far away and may be my medics have worked incompetently - nevertheless this ratio is absolute unrealistic. The normal ratio of KIA/WIA in WWII was approximately 1:3. IMO this should be improved in upcoming modules. Regards Frank
  20. So long, map making in CMRT seems to be much more fun than in CMBN - wide landscape, small villages, no bocage... so, the progress is faster than expected... By the way - is there any modder here, who would like to create some "Totenkopf"-stuff ? Regards Frank
  21. Hey Umlaut, thanks for beeing a volunteer - I will send you a PM, when the testing stage begins . May be, it will take some weeks - map working is hard work Regards Frank
  22. Some days ago, I have finished most of the research for my new campaign project and started map-making. In this thread, I will search for testing volunteers from time to time and provide information about the progress. Also, I would be pleased for any suggestions, because I would like to create the campaign as playable/enjoyable as possible. This means, I will attach importance to: - manageable number of units/troops - middle sized to huge maps with the possibility to manoeuvre - single battles, where players do not have to watch the clock too much - as much historical accuracy as possible BUT without too much disbalance During the campaign, the player will command elements of the heavy tank company of the SS-Totenkopf-Division, which was equipped with Tiger tanks. Attached to this core unit, there will be several other formations of the Totenkopf Division and other units belonging to the SS and the Heer. The campaign will lead the player from June 1944 in Romania to the fightings around the Grodno area in July 1944 and then to the defense battles east of Warsaw from August 1944 to September 1944. Regards Frank
  23. Thanks Sburke, I wondered, if I had missed something. Such a "face" command would be great. Regards Frank
  24. I would be glad, if it was the case. But until now, my tanks (I am testing some things for my next campaign) always turn around, if I want them to retreat with the help of a trigger-line Am I stupid and doing something wrong? Regards Frank
  25. I agree with you MARS, at some point I usually loose my concentration, when playing such huge battles. First of all, I usually loose the overview and then the motivation... The problem with retreating tanks in this campaign is, that the designer is not able to let them drive backyards - they always show their backs, which is of course not realistic. This should be an improvement for the future: the order "retreat without turn around". Regards Frank
