  1. I have just uploaded the Campaign-Teaser to the NATO-repository. The battle is named "Zawiya Militia Clashes" and takes part a few days before the action of the campaign. So, have fun with the civil war Regards Frank
  2. Short report: 95% of the maps are finished. The campaign will include 11 battles - battle 1 and battle 2 are almost finished
  3. Great, this mod will be perfect for my new campaign about the Civil War in Libya
  4. Do I need to install the patches 1.31 and 1.32 if I have all the modules, including the NATO. At the moment, my Version is 1.30. AND...will my designed scenarios etc. then be killed?
  5. The first battle of the Campaign: Zawiya Uprising is now ready for being playtested. If anybody is interested, send me a mail (f-s-zbg@web.de) Regards Frank
  6. A small first picture of the "Green" Forces rolling on..... Muammar1.zip
  7. @ Sergei: Oh, sorry I always make this stupid mistake.... @ all: It´s great fun to work on a modern war campaign. At the moment I´m making the first map (size 1,9 x 0,8km) - the first scenario will probably be ready for playtesting in 3-4 weeks, may be 6 weeks. Then I will pm you. During the first small campaign the player will command a combined arms force of the 32nd reinforced Brigade, the "Khamis"-Brigade during the first battle of Zawiya. More later. Regards Frank
  8. Hey, after a long break I am back and making a series of some small mini-campaigns, playing in the theatre of the Lybian Civil War 2011. The player will command forces of the Gadaffi´s "green" regular Army vs troops of the Revolution-Army. If anyone is interested in playtesting, in 4-5 weeks I should have finished the first battles. Regards Frank
  9. The schw. SS-Pz.Abt.101 (later 501) was never equipped with Panthers, at no time. During June 1944, the Abteilung belonged to the I.SS-Pz.Korps (1.SS-Pz.-Div."Leibstandarte + 12.SS-Pz.Div."Hitlerjugend") and during the fightings, in some cases, the Panthers of SS-Pz.Reg.12 ("Hitlerjugend") fought side by side with the Tigers of the 101. Regards Frank
  10. The Red Army used the 90mm AA against German tanks. For example the SS "Totenkopf" reported that one of their Tiger-tanks was penetrated by an American 90mm AA gun and burned out. This happened in late August/September 1943 in the region of Kolontajew. And there are some more examples of the succesful use of this weapon against tanks at the eastfront. Regards Frank
  11. Hey Sburke, it is a very interesting and detailed combat history. I own the German version. Regards Frank
  12. Hey Erwin, thanks for the news. Always interesting to read your detailed reports. And don´t worry - you will always get enough men/material to be able to win the single missions Regards Frank
  13. Hey Erwin, any news from the front? Sorry for my curiosity... Regards Frank
  14. Hey Erwin, again a very interesting report. Your way to manage this mission shows that you´re an experienced player, I think. I got mails from two other players (one of them during the last testing period), who complained about unavailable options to succeed in this scenario. But they weren´t creative enough About the arty: I have thought about this for a long time, but I think, it is more realistic to have the FO´s directly. So, the player gets the chance to destroy parts of the enemy fortifications and ambushes without too heavy own casualties. However, there will be enough surprising situations left, I hope And I feel myself kinglike, if I can see a nice artillery-bombardement Regards Frank
  15. Hey Erwin, glad to hear, you have managed the third mission successfully I am very interested in your next results. I also read your spoilers about the CMA-mission ROAF and I hope the start of the commonwealth module will prevent boredom. At the moment I´m creating a new campaign about the fighting for Cambes (12.SS Hitlerjugend) and these map is definitely large enough Regards Frank
  16. Hey Erwin, great to hear this hope, you will enjoy the next missions, too. By the way, you have asked, if there are any branches. There is one branch in this campaign, but all in all I have made the story linerar. Regards Frank
  17. Ahh, I have forgotten to answer one of your questions The reinforcements during this campaign will always arrive at the normal starting point of your units - the only exception is marked, so that you should not be irritated. Regards Frank
  18. Hey Erwin, after enjoying the successful run through mission #2 you have quasi returned back to reality Now you are facing the same problems like most of the other players, who reported to me - and the same problems, the poor guys in 1944 were confronted with. The German officers then asked theirselves similar questions: Why no reconnaissance? Why not enough heavy weapons? Why no engineers? And so on.... Actually, they got orders and had no real chance to debate these orders. And the longer the war reached, the more irrational many orders became. So, they were forced to give the best with the few men and weapons they had. And this is your task, too And don´t worry - you have powerful weapons: especially heavy artillery. But you have to use them clever And you won´t fight against an enemy who is much more powerful than your Force is. Regards Frank
  19. Hey Erwin, glad to hear this But things will become harder ..... Regards Frank
  20. Hey Erwin, thanks for your detailed AAR and I am glad to hear, you could enjoy the first part of the "Bloody Ride". And I´m sorry for using some unclear formulation during the briefing. In generally my English is not very well, so sometimes you may be a bit irritated. But don´t worry To loose your FO will be not advantageous, however there are other FO´s on their way to the frontline And the second mission is not the one you must be frightened for. Summing up, I try to answer some of the things, you asked: = on the morning of this mission, the frontline is hold by some German engineers of an engineer-school. These engineers do not belong to the PZL units. First I planed the mission in the way, one could not use them without the risc of losing many victorypoints if they were KIA or WIA - but I decided, that every front commander is free to deal with them in the way he likes. By the way, the German AT-gun belongs to this unit. So, with the soldiers of the engineer-school, I only tried to simulate the garrison of the frontline = the other German Units, belonging to the PZL, are equipped like the real German Units then. The order of those was to break through the US-Lines as fast as possible - so, the heavy weapons of the 8th Company, including the mortars, were positioned backwards. As you could see and as the Germans of 1944 could see, there was no possibility to break through within a few minutes. One can rightly say, the set up of the whole KG wasn´t ideal in reality. And you poor players of today have to suffer from this bad management = After the break through, the engineers got the order to be the back up, if another critical situation would occur - like you said, they were to valuable to be lost in "normal" fightings. So, all in all, you as the player have to manage the same situation like the officers of PZL on this day (and it was one of the worst days of the PZL-Division ): - no reconnaissance at all (the units of PZL arrived too late) - not the right weapons considerung to the terrain, the enemy and the aims of the assault I hope, I could answer some of your questions Erwin and I´d be very glad if you could enjoy the next missions. Regards Frank
  21. Yes, parts of Panzerlehr were hit by the bombs on this day. Your units will be involved to that I´m glad you have enjoyed my first campaign and I hope, this one will be better. Regards Frank
  22. Hey, it is a follow on of the Units from "Bloody ride". The player will lead them through the fightings around Le Hommet, through the brutal defense of the bocage southwards and finally through the Operation Cobra. It will consist of almost any size of battle, from huge to very small. Regards Frank
  23. Today I have started the next German Campaign. It will probably consist of 10-14 missions and follow the way of the II.Batallion/Panzergrenadier-Lehr-Regiment 901(especially the 7th Company) from 12th July 1944 - 1st August 1944. In 3-4 weeks I´ll need again volunteers for the testing stage Regards Frank
  24. Hey Mortars actually have been the most deadly weapons of WWII - the majority of all casualties were caused by them. One cannot hear the incoming projectile, the fire rate of an experienced crew is extremely high and the fire is accurate. And even if you lie on the ground, you´ll be hit because the pieces of the exploding projectile fly very low over this ground. Regards Frank
  25. Hey Aragorn and all the others, tonight I have finished my work and can proudly present the campaign: A Bloody Ride An extensive stage of testing is over now and the result is a campaign which hopefully will bring you some fun - so, thank you very much to all the testers !!! At least, I wanna quote one of them, who said at the end of his fight: " I think, my soldiers have begun to call me the butcher of the Normandy" Regards Frank
