  1. About PDF documents, for what I know, you have first to download on your pc, then transfer trough the USB to your Kindle. Anyway, I don't think they sell that kind of manuals on Amazon.
  2. I see. So summing up. Move carefully, if in doubt, stop often an check around for a while, a lavish use of firepower any time deemed necessary is adviced. Take in account Soviets haven't a lot of useful stuff common in NATO armies. Ok, thank everybody for the advice! BTW, the average BMP1 and the likes carries not too much 7.62x39 ammos and no hand granade at all. Not a good thing, especially in long and lively scenarios.
  3. Okay, here is my problem. I recently started CMA 1980 invasion campaign. I was fairly confident to fare reasonably well from the beginning. After all I have three years of CMSF under my belt. I surely know at least the some of the common tactics, right? Wrong. I realized, with a certain dismay, that some of the tactics working well in CMSF not necessarily have the same results here and that the most troublesome part is the infantry vs. infantry fights. First, it’s more likely rebels spot the Russians first than the other way round. I mean, try to imagine a squad of Russian infantry advancing cautiously trough sparse vegetation. Suddenly, there is a burst of fire, one or two guys fall down and the others run for cover. No sign of the attackers. I can guess the general direction looking at the incoming tracers, but nothing more. Sometimes two, three minutes go by before the appearance of a “?” symbol, and more before I manage to clearly identify the rebel’s position. Time that can really make the difference for the outcome of that particular firefight. Second, but not less important, Muji seems able to shoot straighter, especially over 100, 150 meters. Even if Russians have more firepower, a few rebels mainly armed with old British rifle can really wipe out a whole squad in a couple of minutes. So, what I need is some good advice in order to put a stop at this ordeal. After a few scenarios I’m losing way too many people.
  4. I wonder if this can be done with a mod. You know, like the one in CMA to tone down the rather flashy trees and bushes.
  5. Ah, that's good news! Going to ask at the local DVD store. Thanks Sunray!
  6. Wait a moment. If this is a Russian-Italian co-production, have I to presume there is a version dubbed in Italian, too? My knowledge of russian is close to nil, but with italian is all another matter!
  7. What, no answers after almost one week?! Well, I'm gonna take care of this. For what I know it do is possible sooner or later demo scenarios will appear in the repository. It happened with the CMSF base scenarios so I don't see reason it couldn't happen with CMA too. Obviously, "when" is all another matter.
  8. Well, Iranian government seem having a stronger grip on his country. But I thought the same thing about Assad until a month ago.
  9. 49 and still counting! I got interested in wargames pretty late, uhm, 1980, I think. My first games were AH Starship Troopers, then Panzer Leader and later, obviously Squad Leader. BTW, I agree that SPI BAOR was a pretty good game. I still have my copy. As a gamer I was lucky because there was a friend of mine living in my same apartment block and with my same insane hobby. The only problem was that he was a much more better tactician than me so 9 games out of 10 ended with my side trasformed in minced meat. Starded playing on pc with CMAK. As somebody else said, it is like having SL with no space problems and no need to study a enormous amount of rules. My dream of 20 years ago turned reality!
  10. Mh, I think small arms can affect friendlies within a certain degree. At least if they are in the target area. I made that mistake a couple of times:o But it is true that being somewhere in the middle between shooters and the target has no effect at all, for what I know, and this isn't very realistic.
  11. Here is a old thread about friendly fire I think could be useful. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=90069&highlight=sandokan
  12. Nice sketches Gpig! Soldiers postures are really lively and realistic and also give a good idea of what you mean. I like this kind of stuff. BTW, I agree the "improved buddy aid" wold add realism and immersion in the game but I'm afraid that, seen the amount of working hours would request this feature, it's pretty low in the priorities.
  13. I think the only one having a clear vision of the whole story are the BFC guys. Maybe next Monday when they get back to work. BTW it would be nice know something more about NATO operations in Syria too. Since NATO module should be released, uh, when will be released...
  14. Ahahah! The commander taking a nap in the back of the truck is great! Please, leave it as it is! Well, this apart, nice job Alex.
  15. Well, about corpses lying on the ground I remember once a full sirian squad, five or six guys, in a ditch. Everybody heading in the same direction and with the same posture. Ok, this doesn't affect the game as a simulation. But it looked quite funny. Add a couple more positions, if this doesn't take too much time, would be nice.
  16. Er, could you give some intruction about how to download it? I can't read russian at all and I'm not sure where to click. Thanks in advance.
  17. Ah?! In Italy there is the very same joke, but starring Mr. Berlusconi and a swine!
  18. Ahahah! Silly me! The correct title is "El Alamein- La linea del fuoco". Sorry... Anyway on you tube can be found a few pieces. But just to have an idea of the movie, since there are not subtitles. Italian audio only.
  19. Well, just to add my opinion. After watched the movie my first tought was "This isn't a IIWW movie. It's a spaghetti western in disguise!". Anyway, Tarantino is a bit too much gorey for me. Even if I have to admit this time is somehow milder than other of his works. Changing slightly subject. Has anybody watched "El Alamein-Deserto di fuoco"? It's one of the best IIWW movie I've seen in the last 3-4 years but I don't know if it was released abroad too.
  20. Er...well, you know, uhm... Seriously, it is true I do like playing italians. It is the home team. Nevertheless sometimes I've mixed feelings about this. Benito as prime minister and, worse, allied with the nazi...ugh!
  21. Right. What makes SS interesting villains is that they are long time gone. Who's scared by a dead bogey? Said this I have to admit the number of times I played as german in a IIWW game are close to nil.
  22. BTW, I see two green guys behin Santa. Does it mean Canadian Army enrolls elves too?
  23. Hm, I see. From now on I'll be a lot more cautious with anything larger than 5.56. Thank for the help folks!
  24. If I remember correctly a few patches ago there was a thread saying that anything from 40mm down caused not friendly fire. Now, for reality's sake I usually don't shoot where there are some of my units, even with ligth arms. Yesterday, while re-playing the second scenario of Thunder campaign, I mistakenly kept on firing on the second floor of a building with 40mmm stryker while one of my squads was conducing an assault. Result, two seriously and two lightly wounded. I checked around just in order to be on the safe side but there wasn't any syrian in sight. Shooting or not. So the obvious question is. Has this thing been fixed? If so, when? I don't remember I read anything about this in the readme of the latest patches. Anyway, I mean, I looked in dismay my men tumbling down the stairs (well, more or less) but on the other hand this would be a good addition at the realism of the game. Ah, at the moment I'm playing with version 1.20. Waiting for Paradox patch or Nato expansion to pass to 1.21. The one coming first:)
