  1. Dang it, i thought the pause was going to be like a wego/tcp ip substitute and that we could set it so that the game automaticaly pauses after a minute and unpause when both players press play. Guess i have to wait.
  2. In no particular order: 1. TCP/IP WEGO 2. Infantry formations 3.Target suppresive fire not on point but allong a line 4. Decals 5. Fire 6. Corner peeking/firing soldiers 7. Operations 8. Map/AI plan/objective generator (i absolutely respect the points why this is "almost" imposible but we're talking about features we would be willing to pay for and i would totaly pay for that one; maybe for v9.0 ) 9. Recrewable guns 10. Multiplayer 11. Map editor tool for making sharp elevation features like gulies 12. Replays 13. Ability to order suppresive fire a tiny bit beyond where your man can see or order it in a direction (for forrest engagements, its so frustrating when you know that the enemy is 5 meters beyond poin you can fire) 14. The old CM1 thingy where your troops would report a tiger when PZ II was moving on theirs possition
  3. If you were a big company like EA i would spit fire and brimstone and demand that you upgrade your products we have to buy. But for a small studio with limited playerbase i take it as a viable alternative to keep your bussines going. And i have to say that these are all great features that you throw at us. Hope you choose a reasonable price (words from poor country dweller). Congrats. As for the TCP/IP pausing. Can we set a interval for an automatic pause? Like pause every 60 seconds?
  4. Hmm, doesn't work with me. Still aren't tempted enough to buy Normandy.
  5. To me a missing "cover armor arc" in Normandy's hedgerow hell seems like a design flaw and as such should have been fixed in a day one patch.
  6. I understand the limitations of the CMx2 in terms of proper TCP/IP WEGO mode. I do think that having the online realtime mode with automatic pausing is a great compromise. I secretly hope it will be implemented with some of the upcoming module (More secretly that it will be in the upcoming one.). At least for me it will make the difference weather i buy normandy of will wait for eastern front (where hopefully it will be implemented).
  7. I see the reason why they won't allow mods for the current CMBN franchise in fear of diminishing income from modules. But what about Shock Force or CM1 games for instance? I think that every wargamer who was interested already bought it by now. Some fancy mods could bring additional buyers who although not interested in these vanilla games, could buy it for the mods. I for instance would love a CM1 Warhammer 40.000 mod. And let me tell you, if done well, it would be a magnet to thousands and thousands of people obsessed and instantly buying everything around WH universe.
  8. Oh boy, the OP and people that agree with it are making me sad. Thats the sort of scenarios i dislike. I may end up buying CMBN after all once the features im waiting on are in but i may just skipp that sort of campaign and moving to others or moving straight to multiplayer.
  9. Im currently trying to license my CMSF on my second computer. I also get the -12 error. I switched off my firewall and antivirus and it didn't helped. I noticed that http://www.license.net/ is down, may that be the problem?
  10. ...especialy for shorter ranges. Actually the intervals should be dynamic for all the weapons. I screamed on my monitor when i saw like mu GI's ambushed a german squad in open field and most of them got away cause my guys rested their rifles after each shot. FFS those garands are semiauto don't lower the gun until you hear the ping! ...on the other hand, i admit i like the lowered lethality, it makes up for the quirks that the tac ai (or me ) sometimes makes, it makes it more forgiving imo.
  11. Today my unsuppressed regular Tankerjeager team waiting in ambush position thought, that it will be better to empty theirs MP40s on a 30m parked by buttoned tank instead of firing their panzerfausts. ...damn.
  12. Oh man, i teared down exactly the same house in the Busting the bocage scenario. Funny thing is that the finishing blow came from a B.A.R. section, the house took some arty damage first, but now that you mentioned it i realize it didn't get a direct hit.
  13. First i was like in CMSF: "Oh no, my soldier got hit! Quick covering fire, smoke screen, medic... 10 minutes later, ok he's saved, lets continue with the operation. Oh no, my soldier got hit!..." Now im getting more used to seeing those red crosses and saying "Sucks to be you buddy."
  14. Yup, its definitely there, i played hotseat the tutorial mission and i saw a squad of german conscripts rattled without a shot landing near them.
  15. Infantry man!!! ...when there is a platoon of shermans backing me up.
  16. This may be too much. Im on your side but i don't see a problem with UI, couldn't care less if there are some fancy animated menus and the game has all the polish it needs. As much as i would love autopause in the realtime mode (if not tcp/ip wego) to get back to the old competetive wargaming days of mine. I wouldn't care less if this game has it if there wasn't things like foxholes, water, mortars, AT guns... which make the game what it is today and make me want to play it in the first place. That said i can't think of any more crucial features that i would desperately need to enjoy the game. Now it all comes down to how the game delivers its qualities to me and let me fully enjoy itself, and thats the point where things like multiplayer modes come in. Till now (CMSF) the bottleneck for fun the game can deliver to me was somewhere else, now its here, CMBN from the demo feels so good that i want to play it online and pure realtime and PBEM doesn't suit me (believe me i tried both).
  17. I noticed that if the spotter is under fire the accuracy usually sucks. BTW if you order firemision as "emergency" is there accuracy penalty for it?
  18. Just on firepower note, on really close range i would bet my money on 5 guys armed with semiauto pistol than 5 guys with bolt action rifles.
  19. CMBB manual pg. 8: “Action in CMBB is paused to allow for player input. We feel it is conductive to players’ development of thoughtful and realistic strategies, rather than the “click fest” that some fully “real time” games can become.” ...sorry but somebody had to mention it.
  20. One tiny suggestion i would make is that the aiding troop firstly takes the weapon and ammo. I had my gunner wounded on open field last night and i wanned to recover the B.A.R., i had to wait till the medic applies budy-aid first, then took his weapon. ...it may sound cruel but i needed that gun ASAP, would take care of him later hopefully.
  21. Big truth in that, but as i was saying. The more features get in the game, the more the fact that you can't have more than a company force multiplayer game without the need to quit the game and sending files around stands out. Till now we didn't have water, foxholes, ability to split scout teams, AT guns and other goodies (i appreciate the hard work behind all that). Yes there are still things that could be in (movable waypoints, attack armor only arc...) but the game feels complete now, so now when the CM2 engine moved to this high level we feel its time to add features for the players to enjoy all that makes the game good by implementing proper multiplayer mode. Personally im in for a compromise, the autopause realtime doesn't needs a multiplayer rewrite (i guess i will enjoy the zoomed in action in singleplayer wego) and would make the game enjoyable for a large crowd who find RT too stressfull and PBEM too slow and cumbersome.
  22. Its hard to disagree with the OP, even if its stated in not too civilized manner. (guess its just emotions) It wasn't so obvious in CMSF, but the graphics, gameplay features and polish CMBN has are so good, that the lack of proper multiplayer mod really stands out as the biggest drawback.
  23. What would you say if the game would be realtime but it would pause each 60 seconds for a period of time (fixed or it would wait till both players unpause) so you can check the battlefield, your troops, rethink your plan and most importantly issue orders like you do in wego? If you like it, support the noble cause by replying in this thread: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=96573 . And add this to your signature "Wish List for CMBN: Please oh please a "pause key" for RT multiplayer games. '
