  1. Our legal scholars tried informing the grandson of Admiral Doenitz that he should return to the Chancellery post haste. Germany awaits! But apparently he prefers to continue managing his Opel dealership. On the bright side, he really appreciates the new mortar dispersion pattern. Far, far more realistic.
  2. I tried importing those icons, HQ etc, from the American OOB into my brz file. But no joy. A pity because I potentially prefer yours and mine to stock.
  3. Like these? http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=102991 Lt Smash has a set ready with army symbology, if that's your taste.
  4. OK, I grew tired of gazing on the green floating icons for the Commonwealth forces so I decided to make my own. Which worked via Rez Explode and Photoshop. Unfortunatley I ran into the same conumdrum as Lt. Smash above; there seem to be no icons for leaders and FOs in 1.10. Any ideas? Do we a need a copy of 1.01?
  5. Yes, we need beige- or khaki- icons! Unless the AI isn't suppose to know who they're facing....
  6. Good: Looks like a simple fix. Bad: Battlefront doesn't favor releasing micro patches.
  7. Oops! Wonder how long that's been going on?
  8. You're all right, my bad. Just ran a test.
  9. Don't...think...so. Churchills don't appear to function as bocage busters, either. (assumed that's the next query)
  10. Yes, thanks to Battlefront. The game doesn't use all of my laptop's 6g ram but moving around the bigger maps- and CW came with a lot of them- is now a breeze. I just wish it loaded the graphics into memory and effected draw distance as well. My gridded terrain only extends out to a couple of dozen rows, for example. But overall a noticeable improvement. And no more OOMs; Huzzar! loads and plays smoothly.
  11. Rhino tanks reversing through bocage?
  12. You're aware of the infinitesimal amount of close combat incidences, or 'wet work', that were recorded in WW2? You want Kung Fu? As far as bayonets are concerned their use peaked in the 18th century. During the US Civil War the bayonet was ultimately responsible for less than one percent of battlefield casualties. The bayonet has endured to the present day in some formations for the purpose of drills and unit morale. And, yes, I'm familiar with the accounts of Goose Green. On the other hand, lurching around ammo-less like zombies isn't completely satisfactory.
  13. I believe we can expect a significant uptick in Charles' production now that he's retired from the Bench: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Charles-E-Moylan-Jr-Retired-Specially-Assigned/275801249068
  14. That sounds like work. What conclusions did you reach? Do tell.
  15. I dunno. There doesn't seem much in the way of confirmation or non-confirmation of the Churchill's bocage busting prowess on the net, or in WW2 books I've read. Mostly that famous illustration. A compromise might be allowing the tank to traverse Low Bocage with accrued damage and immobilization risk. From Wikipedia: It is important to note that, despite its weaknesses, the Churchill had a significant advantage that was apparent throughout its career. Due to its multiple bogie suspension, it could cross terrain obstacles that most other tanks of its era could not. This feat served well, especially during the fighting in Normandy particularly the capture of Hill 309 between the 30 and 31 July 1944 in operation Bluecoat conducted by VIII Corps.
  16. Will the Churchill enjoy bocage busting capabilities in CW? Or is it mythical, bases on hearsay? If that second illustration isn't an exaggeration it did, while exposing its belly in a frightful way.
  17. BFC must have reconsidered the promise to release the change log for perusal. That would have been a rash action fraught with perils on this wolfish forum.
  18. Can mortars currently fire from forested tiles.? I don't remember. One of the problems confronted the Allies in the Huertgen, in addition to not being able to bring air power to bear, was the difficulty in deploying mortars in that terrain.
  19. The Heurtgen campaign lasted from September 1944 to February 1945. So the BFC version will just show the opening moves. Denser Fog than currently exists may prove necessary. It's sobering to remember that both Market Garden and the Huertgen Forest are widely considered Allied defeats. But that may not bother, uh, certain posters to this forum.
  20. Geez, Benpark, how many hours did you spend putting that graphic together?
  21. Haha! Great movie! I live in Los Angeles and passed Kareem last month in a local Costco while he was pushing a shopping cart. You couldn't miss him! He seemed affable enough despite his rep as dour and unapproachable when he was a Laker.
  22. What's needed for the OMG/Arnhem module are destroyed buildings with a wall or two still standing.
  23. The 761st was an independent, all black unit that served under Patton in France and Germany. And, yes, Abdul-Jabbar is THAT Abdul-Jabbar; the retired NBA star.
