  1. Will there be a Marines + Brits + NATO bundle (mail delivery)?
  2. Can RT multiplayer games be paused? I don't mean saved like a singleplayer scenario (which would be cool too) but only paused for a few seconds if there's too much happening at once and you need a moment to consolidate...
  3. If the "storm room" would make the unit throw a few grenades into a room and then enter it that would be very nice. Similar to the "Blast" order but with handgrenades instead of det. charges. This is already possible with queueing existing commands in realtime and micromanaging target and clear target orders but totally impossible to time in PBEM / Wego.
  4. Btw., what ever happened to being able to move waypoints after they have been placed (to a certain degree)?
  5. I wish the actual casualty and condition rates would be shown in the debriefing and not only if the respective objectives were achieved or not.
  6. What exactly is the scenario author mode and how do I activate it (could not find anything in the manual about it)? I suppose it lets me play the scenario in a kind of god mode seeing both sides to see how the AI plans work out? I'm playing around in the editor and don't want to place spies and whatnot on the map only to be able to see what the AI does.
  7. A German Panzergrenadiergruppe should have 6 soldiers and that is what is stated in the screenshot too...
  8. Don't know if this has been covered anywhere before: will artillery target reference points be introduced with the NATO module?
  9. I've seen lots of BW soldiers with beards in a short documentary about Afghanistan not so long ago. The reason given for this was that the local people pay more respect to men with beards. Now this beard growing seems to be handled similar like on U-Boats... Here is the video: they talk about the beards from 3:00 to 3:40 (german only).
  10. Yeah I did not read the article and only watched the video...
  11. You say "available for all future games", does this mean TRPs will not be introduced for CMSF with the NATO module or corresponding patch?
  12. So will there eventually be Target Reference Points?
  13. I really want to have Target Reference Points for artillery fire missions. Apart from that I'm satisfied (I think ).
  14. I'm favoring the 80'ies Fulda gap too. Or the Falklands/Malvinas (but not much armor there...).
  15. I have used 'Shoot' for Operation Flashpoint in the past. Never had the idea to try it with CM games but it should work. If I remember correctly Shoot only 'understands' english and doesn't work very well with German voice commands for example. Binding the commands to keys is done via XML file or even in the program itsself but XML is faster.
  16. Game mechanics wise Target Reference Points (TRP) are points on the map on which the player can call fire missions almost instantly. In CMx1 those points could be "bought" like normal units and then be placed freely by the player in the setup phase.
  17. Nice to see how other people play the game. I was surprised how "uncautiosly" you moved your Bradleys and Strykers in the beginning of the first video (have watched only this yet). But you said you've played them before so that's the explanation maybe. Do you have installed any sound mods?
  18. Not sure about the RPG-29 but the RPG-7 will definitely kill BMPs and BRDMs from any angle (if they hit of course). Keep in mind though that the RPG-7 has an effective maximum range of 150 to 200 meters depending on the wind conditions, training of the operator and status of the target (moving or stationary). But even with optimal conditions (no wind, veteran operator, stationary target) your hit probability at 200 meters are pretty limited with the RPG.
  19. Are you willing to share this mod Elmar?
  20. I really miss Target Reference Points too. Did anyone ever make a request to get those into the game? I'm afraid we won't be seeing TRPs introduced in the NATO module. Maybe someone should start a thread about it...
  21. That's what I meant. The Syrian Reserve Infantry is not very durable. I assume the Special Forces are better but I've never played a scenario with those yet. I try to do this too but it is hard to execute in PBEM WeGo games. Depends on your opponent's timing to come into your LOF - and stay there, if it is too far away from the end or beginning of the turn it is likely that your squad will be shot to pieces by enemy overwatch elements. I'm going to try a mixture of the defence in depth, counterattack by fire and the guerrilla approach in my next H2H scenario.
  22. I'm anticipating the NATO module before christmas. It has been said that the next module would benefit from the lessons learned from the Brit module and thus be finished quicker than the Brit module. But still experience shows that things always take longer than you hope but it also always was worth the wait for me in the past.
  23. Yes good post lomir. But I'm not sure if it is really feasible to full extent in the game. For example: I always struggle to find alternate positions let alone supplementary ones on the map. In a built up area this is less of an issue but then you still have very limited lines of sight so it's kinda hard to find positions for your squads/platoons from which they can cover each other. Well MOUT/FISH is a completely different difficulty level than a defense in open ground but still I find it hard to find positions which can support each other. Your counterattack by fire makes sense in theory to me but in my experience once a Syrian squad (most scenarios have the Syrians as the defenders, I can't think of a scenario in which the Syrians are actually on the attack) receives incoming or even becomes pinned it is virtually impossible to pull them out to a different position and break contact. Especially in built up areas where the engagement range is very close, squads take heavy casualties and become combat ineffective before they can break contact. Well this is only my opinion and you must know that I am not particularly successful in this game (at least not in PBEM; I haven't achieved more than a minor victory in any CM PBEM game). I think I just want to have more in depth and illustrated examples of real situations from inside the game...
  24. In addition to the Syrians: their artillery and mortars are really only useable in pre-planned missions during the setup phase. It easily takes 10 times longer to call in a Syrian fire mission than a BLUE one and they only have a very limited number of spotters whereas virtually any Blue unit is a potential arty/mortar spotter.
