    Nope.
With all due respect, if you are driving softskin vehicles full of men into places where they can be shot at, you need to worry more about your tactics than you do about the game engine.
PS - @chuckdyke  Score one for the Sherman!

It occured to me that Panic was the wrong word as it is one of the game's morale state.....'Imminent Fear Of Anhilation' would probably have been a better choice.

That's so funny.....I nearly asked if you did that.
The box on the back of a Firefly turret is actually the counterweight.....They often had stowage boxes mounted onto that:

From their perspective it was.....Sevastapol is massively important to Russia.
But I suspect you know that full well and that you are being disingenuous.
If China sponsored a Hawaiian revolution threatening Pearl Harbour, how do you think the US would respond?
PS - Once again, I felt that I should point this out:

Saying the Crimea is not historically Russian or that Sevastapol does not reperesent a vital strategic interest for Russia is lunacy, plain & simple.

    Yea, sorry I wasn't clear.

If a round lands very close to a tank some amount of track damage will be done but that is the only subsystem that will take any damage and even then it has to be nearly on top of the vehicle. You won't get a shell landing 30 meters away to do any damage.

In a more abstract game that would be fine but CM is 1:1 so that sort of 1:1 damage modeling is important. Having a FLIR sight closed up for 30 seconds during the peak of the artillery fire or to have the top mounted machine gun become inoperable can have a butterfly effect on the outcome of a scenario.

I take it you mean by this that the tank's subsystems don't appear to take damage from fragments?

    Very interesting.
Not sure how useful it would be in game though.

Sorry Sgt, this is called ‘The Monty Hall Problem’ and is fairly famous. Wiki has an article on it. Lots of PhDs wrote scathing letters saying the solution was wrong. One had to watch a computer do this problem thousands of times before he admitted he was wrong.
The bottom line is that if you switch your choice the only way you lose is if you originally picked the right curtain, which you have a 33% chance of doing.

I already had all of them except 'Kieme's Highway 2' & 'Junction 2'.....I can vouch that all of them will run in 3d Preview (at maximum settings) on my fairly powerful rig.
Not sure I'd vouch for them running so well with a regiment's worth of LOS to calculate though.....That's what it would take to fill some of them, eh @sburke?
PS - Here's an odd thing that might be of interest to those that deal with big maps on a regular basis, purely based on my own experiences.  If I open a humongous map and click straight on 3d Preview, the chances of a crash/failure to load/whatever seems maybe 30-50% higher than if I open the 2d Map Editor and scale the map so that I can see all or most of it on screen as tiles, before I view it in 3d Preview.  I have no idea if this is a real thing, or just my imagination, but it seems to work for me, so that's what I do.

Follow the link to an in-progress map pack for Black Sea. All of these maps are blank and exist for use of scenario designers to make scenarios with without the onerous map creation portion of the experience.

    https://github.com/combat-mission/Black-Sea/tree/main/maps

Please let me know if any of these maps do not work in Black Sea. My testing has shown that they do but I haven't tried to load them all in the 3d mode. Additionally if anyone here would like to help and has CMFI/CMRT please PM me.

    Notes:

Most of these are maps were packed with the games but a few are from map designers. Be sure to click the "..." to show attributions.

I plan on doing this for other games in the series.

As this is list is refined they'll be added to the scenario depot for better accessibility. This current location is a soft launch location.

    Agreed.
    Have a list of culprits:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_invasions
You'll note that neither Russia, nor the Soviet Union are actually terribly prominent among them.

With some assistance from @Sgt.Squarehead we manage to unjank the bridge (well somewhat) and so are able to properly finish out the game.
We are instantly rewarded with the last firefly spotting and killing the immobilized Tiger tank. It takes a solid 5 hits to the front before the crew bails out and the Tiger is declared dead.

Later, while attempting to mate with the burning corpse of a halftrack, the firefly spots and kills the PZ3 (I did say I only managed to somewhat unjank the bridge).

With the shermans positioned on the bridge and able to provide some fire support on the occupied parts of Bridge West, we are ready to launch a limited counterattack. However, before that begins, a few para squads use their last rounds of ammo to take out yet another flak vehicle

An attack is then launched on the occupied buildings while they are put under tank fire. My attack is led by John Frost himself, along with a mortar squad and a few cobbled together HQ squads.

While the Germans are suppressed, the shockwaves from a tank round cause the building to collapse

The Paras then breach into the left building; a single sniper kills the two Germans occupying the building.

Nothing much happens for the next few turns and I decide to end the game on that last effort.

    The final disposition of forces:

The Germans took quite a beating and their corpse piles are seen on every part of the battlefield (of course my losses were quite severe as well).

The real heroes were the first two Shermans, who took out about 50 men total and numerous vehicles

Overall, a great scenario, I do wish that maybe they made it a bit easier to navigate the bridge. Even with the helpful navigation tip, the sheer number of wreckages and the inability to push burning vehicles can make it difficult to properly get the tanks into town.

If it was a direct hit, that probably should not have happened.....It's more or less the same as taking a direct hit from a destroyer!
If the shell impacted on the armour the Tiger the crew should be going benny-mental.....There are descriptions from crews of their tanks 'ringing like a bell' and of being able to see daylight through the weld-seams after ISU rounds exploded on their armour.
Needless to say, the tanks broke and the crew didn't stay in them to find out exactly how long it would take for the welds to crack completely and for the turret roof to fall on their heads!

It helps to use the right names.
SU-122 (T-34 chassis, very short gun):

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SU-122
The SU-122 was an assault gun akin to the StuH.42, not a tank hunter.....The tank hunters of the T-34 family were the SU-85 and later the SU-100 (& SU-85M).
ISU-122 (IS-2 Chassis, long gun with no muzzle brake, same mantlet as ISU-152):

ISU-122S (IS-2 chassis, long gun with muzzle brake, new ball shaped mantlet):

This is a T-26 Model 1933 built in the Goodenoughsokov tank factory.

The height of the T-26 Model 1933 was 7'4" and the Humber was 7'10" but I did lower the turret a wee bit to close some modelling gaps so I really think we are close enough for my concerns.

So I decided to load it up and try it out. It seems your strategy really worked, they are able to move normally again. Still dipping and weaving, but it seems like using the hunt command helped them to avoid being destroyed. Looks like I can finish the AAR properly. Thanks!

The first part is to control the game. If you know programs like AutoClicker that let you specify a sequence of mouse clicks and repeat it... you can program something similar with python, which has tools that allow you to emulate keystrokes and mouse clicks (PyAutoGUI). So, I have a loop that clicks in various places on the screen, pressing the buttons I need in the right sequence and with the right time delays in between, like a human would.
The second part is to process what is happening on the screen. For this I save a screenshot (by having Fraps running in the background and by emulating an F10 press). Again, python has tools (PIL) to load an image file and, for example, look at individual pixel values. I know where to expect the tank unit icons that have been spotted. If there is a bunch of black pixels nearby, it means that there is a solid contact on an enemy unit in that position. No black pixels = it is either a tentative contact or nothing.
The screenshot taking part is quite inefficient - I would prefer reading the pixels right off the screen, without saving anything to the disk. But I haven't found any library that would do that with CM. They just return the main menu screen, same as when you use printscreen in the game.
I have no idea how the magic works inside those libraries I linked to. I just have some basic understanding of how to use them.
I hope some of those words make sense

I solved the turret gun issue! video is uploading...
still uploading, I am out in the boonies of Texas.
I know we have hatch issues to solve! This thing has so many hatches it is hilarious. I need to move them and rename them so the "best ones" open for the commander. AND.../the commander animation, his position when the hatch is open, I have to decide which one is best. I THINK I want to stay with the normal T-70 animation because it is I think also the same one for the T-34 commander. If I rename something from Humber it hoses over the look of the T-34. everything is usually slightly connected.
The ton of antennae and lights need to be alpha channeled out using the bmp.
Other things to tweak are exhaust locations, fire spots for when the tank is burning. The UI silhouette I must make from scratch. I guess the modtag will be [t26]...
