You didn't exactly post an opinion, you attempted to act as a mouthpiece for BfC:
About the wrong goddam game.....This is a CM:BS thread.

Also some additional information that is not obvious (counter intuitive actually) but can be useful:
An IED can be activated and detonated by any triggerman.  Example: A Wire triggerman can activate and/or detonate a cell or radio IED.

Yup, replays are king.....I used to play real-time for small scenarios, but now its WeGo all the way, you learn so much more, even if you can't always react to it quite as immediately.

I recall reading about Marines LAV-25s in Afghanistan at the start of the war. During their first significant operation (involving cross country travelling to cut a distant highway) it was reported that EVERY vehicle in the task force needed to be unditched at least once, several multiple times. Humvees in particular suffered from multiple broken suspensions and needed to be airlifted By CH-53s back to base. The operation was a 'success' in that they finally reached the highway and shot up anything attempting to drive down the road. But it was a costly operation getting there.
Vineyards in CMFI are not to be fooled with. A combination of stout vine bases and long lengths of wire that wrap around the suspension as you move through it.

Sgt.Squarehead reacted to Combatintman in Controversial Pegasus book out by German SME on German Normandy batteries
The German edition, according to your link, was published in 2014 which is probably enough time to have garnered a review or two.
    The  author:
    http://worldcat.org/identities/lccn-nb2003070679/
The original publisher of his books:
    http://www.hek-creativ-verlag.de/
The author and publisher being one and the same.
How many reviews of his works over the years …? Not many …
The absence of a substantial review base is not necessarily the be all and end all but he is also not a historian by trade.
Whether the book is controversial or not is another matter, that label is applied by the person writing the linked article. If you delve into the narrative in the article, it seems that the 'controversy' boils down to:
The Germans didn't fight much. True - they lost. Lieutenant Brotheridge was killed by his own side. Could have been, it was dark and there were a fair few rounds going down range. Lieutenant Brotheridges's circumstances of death have been covered up. Depends really on whether he was killed by his own side, whether anyone knew that his own side had killed him and what defines a cover up. Just for sh1ts and giggles, let's say that Lieutenant Brotheridge was killed by friendly fire. His death I am sure would have been recorded in official records as killed in action. I doubt anybody really had the time or inclination to investigate the cause of every death in action with there being a war on and all that. In conspiracy theorist world, because the accurate statement 'killed in action' does not say 'killed by own side' and that there was no further investigation, such omissions amount to a cover up.  This reasoning is generally flawed.
Back to the end of the article at your link:
'Although the author cannot provide further evidence to support his hypotheses than the many testimonies of veterans, he nevertheless contributes to shaking up the historic lines of D-Day.' This seems to me to indicate that the author lacks evidence beyond a few old people that he spoke to. Oral testimony has its place but as you ought to know from your intelligence background, you have to question the validity of such testimony years after the event, particularly when it is uncorroborated by other sources.
So, that is a pretty long way of saying - don't get 'excited and curious' every time you see something labelled controversial.

I'd love to see some more vehicles in this game, hell I could even write you a list (with pictures), but I'm too busy foaming at the mouth over CM:SF2!
This however could get my attention back.

Seems like you have found a work around by using the old editor.  Hmm, I wonder what else we can do with two different editors for the same game?

@MOS:96B2P  Dude our cups floweth over.....CM:SF1 Core Unit Files can (apparently, tests are ongoing) be edited in CM:SF2!
It should be possible to edit the raw vehicle/crew combination in CM:SF1 (separating those pesky HQs) and then transfer the file to CM:SF2 to make unit attachments (Specialist Teams & Weapons) and load them up on their new transports in the new editor.
So much to explore.....Need to see if we can still bounce IEDs around too!
PS - To clarify, the Core Units appear in CM:SF2 just as they do in CM:SF1, the dismounted platoon HQs show up as dismounted both in the editor and in preview, even though the editor is apparently incapable of creating such a formation.

Yep. I've been spending most of my time in the editor with a new scenario I moved over from CMSF1 into CMSF2.  I was a little nervous of how the crews might act after the scenario began.  Since they were not crucial to my scenario I started with a fresh TOE from the CMSF2 editor.  However if it is truly stable CMSF1 will live for many years on my hard drive as a place to build certain units and then move them over to CMSF2.
If Charles knew how we used and abused his editor he would probably like to kick our @sse*   .

That is a (AFAIK) fully functional version of Ashsh al-Dababir, in CM:SF2.....Battlefront totally kept their word, if this thing works, anything will!
It appears that CM:SF2 will indeed import and (presumably run) any CM:SF1 scenario as is**.....So while I haven't got my head around crew swapping in the new editor yet (It's all a bit odd on that front, have you checked it out yet?), it seems very likely that I can create Core Unit Files in CM:SF1 (bypassing the peculiarities of the new editor), then transfer that file to CM:SF2 so the units can be imported using the device for campaigns in the usual way.
Haven't tested it yet, but I will have pretty soon.
** This requires another tip of the hat to Steve (& Co.), when he (they) make a promise, he (they) mean it, all of it.....Battlefront have exceeded my expectations in all regards, this is a truly superb product, at the price I paid for it I almost feel guilty!

This is interesting.  Might not un-install CMSF1 after all.  Not sure if it can be made to work once the scenario starts ................ but it is worth looking into.  This is why I asked you the question in the other thread about switching vehicle crews.  I couldn't get it to work the same as in CMSF1 but it was present on maps that I copied from CMSF1 and put into CMSF2.

Yeah things are not quite any of: exactly the same as v1 or the same as BS or tweaked in a way that lets you do the stuff you want easily. You might have to find a new happy path that is a bit different from v1. There are limitations on how many changes could be made without having negative effects on v1 compatibility or large amounts of work for non core functionality.
I think if you come at the problem from a what can the v2 game that I have now do - you will likely find a way to get most of what you want. It will be like starting over and making different compromises. Start a thread with some specific stuff you are trying to do and see if others can pitch in suggest alternatives - I'll make sure I monitor.

A long time ago, I made a video series detailing the Task Force Thunder campaign.
When Shock Force 2 was announced, I put the series on hold to wait for the new game to come out.
That took quite a bit longer than everyone expected.
But now, we can finally go back to the well, and start down the road to Hims once again.
It almost feels like coming home...

Creating scenarios is a challenge and most of the ones I start to make are played be me once or twice and then another idea comes up I would like to try so the original one ends up being left for another day. I like the special forces type of scenarios @slysniper @Sgt.Squarehead and @Combatintman were talking about and took the time to make one I felt was good enough to be released to the community. Here it is:  http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/tsd3/cm-black-sea/cm-black-sea-add-ons/vega-force/ Give it a whirl and provide some feedback.
I have read through this whole thread and this comment really gets me. I am curious @SimpleSimon, which scenarios have you made and released to the community? I am interested in trying out one you have made to see how it compares to other community or Battlefront made scenarios.
