i wouldn't mind a USMC addon, it would probably be the easiest to make, plus, the blue on blue possibilities are quite exciting too. Think about it, you get to settle the old Army/Marines rivalry...

not sure if this is relevant to the topic, but a Marine from Iraq told me he saw an RPG round ricochet off of another Marines head. He was knocked unconscious for a bit, lucky he was following SOP and had his helmet on.

i usually improvise, hell, i recreated the October 3rd Battle of Mogadishu in CMBB, with crack Airborne playing as Rangers, elite Guards playing as SFOD-D, veteran mountain troops as the 10th mountain division, TONS of conscript volksturm to simulate the Habr Gidr militia, and some German Major playing as Farah Aidid. i built a mogadishu, used grain to simulate sand. In the end, it was kinda rough to see it modern if you don't have a vivid imagination, like me edit: there was 1 unforeseen technicality, apparently you can't load prisoners on your own vehicles, so i had to shot Aidid dead right on the spot and then extract my troops. so BFC, whudafuxup with the prisoner loading?

I see you are a Marine, how has it been so far for you?

well, i speak fluent Russian, perhaps that should get me sent to one of the stans in central Asia instead of Iraq. not sure if there are any Marine bases in Russia istelf. btw, are there any Marines here that are currently in Iraq, i think M1A1Tankcommander is but im not sure. How is Marine life over there?

well, i don't know what kind of idiot some of you take me for. You actually think i'm just a dumb teen who thinks that the Marine Corps is a gun vacation where you get to blow **** up? Hell no, i know what it takes and i have what it takes. I know Marines and soldiers who have just signed up, who recently finished boot camp, and who have been in the Corps. A friend of mine is in Norfolk, Virginia right now training to be a part of the president's QRF. His unit is the first to go in if the president is ever shot at. So trust me, i know all about the training and experiences, im just not sure if its what i really want. i do plan on visiting some other recruiters, just so i don't get 100% Marine bias. I don't know if i will join the military at all, we will see as i grow nearer to 18. o ya, and i have seen the beginning of Full Metal Jacket: "I didn't know they stacked **** that high!" No offense, but some of you guys seriously underestimate teens and the stuff they do and are exposed to nowadays.

i sorta switched what i would want to be if i joined. i pretty much decided that i want to be active duty (if i join, which right now chances seem to be slim), and i would like to be an LAAD gunner, which means probably not getting posted in Iraq, and probably won't see combat. All i would be doing is sitting on the beach firing stingers at remote controlled planes. I wanted to go to the Reserves because i wanted the benefits of going through boot camp (good knows i need self-discipline), and to stay home. But now i realize that i will have to seperate with my parents eventually anyway, and having full benefits and some pay from the military and leaving with the experience and credentials will kinda lead my life and give me a direction to follow career wise, because i haven't a goddamn clue about what i want to do career wise. im 17 btw.

that seems interesting, maybe in 2007 BFC will release a patch or sumfink that includes all of the equipment that Syria actually would have when the theoretical war starts, instead of what we think they will have.

i don't mind 1 weekend a month, 2 weeks a year for eight years, but i do want to spend more time at home than in ****hole countries, there is a Marine Station within walking distance of my house here in San Bruno. "You may see less time in Iraq on active." How so? Do reservists get stationed in Iraq more often than active duty? "IIRC you will/might have to do some kind of IIR or reserve duty after active." what exactly is IIR? i heard that term before but i don't know what it means. i want to play with guns and do the whole military thing but i want to stay home! Are there any Soldiers/Marines/Sailors/Airmen here that can tell me the pros and cons of being on active duty compared to Reserves? edit: i think most Special Forces units recruit from all branches. I know it's completely off topic and irrelevant to CMX2 based games, but i am split on whether i want to join the Marine Corps Reserves or not. I know some of you guys have been in the services, and i wanted to know how/if it benefited you. I know i can trust the opinions and experiences of most guys on this forum

to combat the opinions of all the WWII fanatics, i'd like to say that i have been starving for a simulation like this and i have trouble falling asleep because of this game... in case all the bashing of modern warfare was making steve feel that no one wants this gane

i got CMBO when it first came out when i was like, 12. I didn't even know that squads where 7-12 men, i thought that every rifle squad was 3 men. I thought that the actual mancount was a display of how many wounds a man in the squad could sustain before dieing. So abstraction never bothered me. and no, i never questioned why a sharpshooter could only sustain one hit as opposed to an MG42, which could sustain 6.

Iron Man mode, eh? I guess BFC has finally acknowledged my contributions to the forum and is honoring me by creating a game mode in my honor, and even naming it after myself. I whole-heartedly accept.

CMSF-wise, i was done once i heard the words "modern" and "Combat Mission" and the whole CMx2 thing really got my curious too
