  1. Goodbye COG, and thanks. This may be the end of an era, but now we have CMSF MODS
  2. IIRC The sounds will be in .wav format and the titles are self explanitory, like M4, M240...
  3. I can't get YouTube at the office. Is this flick based on the book of the same name by Guy Sajer? Is his book still considered to be fiction? IIRC there was speculation about the authenticity of it.
  4. When you Air Assault an IBCT to seize and hold an OBJ in the ENYs rear area, the HMMWVs will be AASLTed with them. With out the AT company, a light infantry company will have a hard time against any kind of motorized/mechanized counter attack. So yeah, this game is set in Syria. You have to figure that in a full scale invasion of Syria we would deploy some Air Assault assets. So yes, the HMMWVs are being used the way they were intended. That's my two cents, YMMV.
  5. +1 I find this to be awesome. Thank you for providing us with another great modding site!
  6. http://www.armytimes.com/news/2009/05/army_scar_051109w/ I know this is a necro post, but I think it is relevent to what we had discussed in regards to the SCAR.
  7. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=86207 http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/3728/details http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=197 *couch, cough* My 1/75th mod could be used for SOF. The only replace Army textures, and are available in ACU and MultiCam. [/shameless self promotion]
  8. His are transparent whilst mine were not. I also neglected to include a read me, so you may be using mine. Thanks for the shout out nikita.
  9. Thanks. D/Ling time:now.
  10. I too would like an answer to this. I was pretty pissed when I purchased TOW1 and got hosed on the editors. I really want to get TOW2 but my bank card is staying in the relative comfort of my wallet until I get the final word on Vista x64 comparability.
  11. lol, go on a patrol in one and then let's talk about it's design. They suck. To be honest, I am glad they are not in the game, I would feel bad watching my pixel truppen bounce around in them.
  12. I can tell you that as recently as a year ago 1/75 still had three MK48 gun teams per PLT. I don't know if they have changed anything since then, but AFAIK Ranger MTOE has had 3 MGs per PLT for at least 10 years.
  13. That would be rad! They need this, hell it would cool if they could display stats like that on the loading screen or even the main menu screen.
  14. Yes, it will replace the US infantry textures. You can revert back to stock by simply deleting them from your 'z' folder.
  15. http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=197 Here you go.
  16. From what I understand the 416 is not going to be adopted, some were fielded for trials (much like the XM8), but as far as I know the only SF types still using the 416 can be found here: http://www.cbs.com/primetime/the_unit/
  17. Because the M4 = Semi and 3 rnd burst while the M4A1 = Semi and Full Auto, I know this was not the most eloquent way of putting it, but my meds are wearing off The "big" Army uses the M4 while the Rangers and SF use the M4A1, well I guess it should say used because they will be going to the SCAR soon as far as I know...
  18. Looks good man! Sorry I haven't gotten the helmet cover and vest done yet, real life keeps getting in my way
  19. I am pretty sure you could make the icons rectangular by editing the alpha channels. I will give it a shot sometime in the next few days. I kept the icons circular because I was trying to replicate the FBCB2 icons. Thanks for down loading them.
  20. I could give it a shot, depending on how much free time get this weekend.
  21. I don't agree with this statement. I have stood on top of an EFP, I nor a single member of my squad saw the EFP. I think that if dismounts spot an IED, they will either be right on top of it, or have gotten extremely lucky. This may not always be the case, but IMO, more often than not, it is. That being said, dismounted and mounted operations both have their advantages, it should not be a black and white argument about "we shouldn't do this because it is intimidating/destroys local infrastructure" or "we should do this because it will put us into direct contact with local nationals and allow them to easily engage us with their concerns/issues". We more or less need to stay in the gray area of doing combined mounted/dismounted patrols. That gives us the flexibility to interact with the locals (SWEAT-T) and easily transition into door kicking and face shooting. Basically, we mix it up and try to avoid patterns. This all made sense in my head, I hope it came out the right way. Sorry for steering off-topic.
  22. We were issued Peltor Comtac II's prior to deployment. They worked well, active noise reduction is a must for those of us that are trying to preserve what little hearing we have left. The only issue I encountered was that when I had radio traffic the ambient mics cut off. The effect was, I could not carry on a conversation with a local national, or anyone for that matter, while receiving radio traffic. Other than that they were awesome.
  23. I think everyone wants to look like ze germans...
