  1. Looks great. Is it just me or does the barrel on the M203 look a little short?
  2. With all that hunting terrorist talk and Gung ho best of the best crap, I figured you would be a trigger puller. I apologize for flipping out on you. There was no need for name calling, I just get pissed when people talk out of their ass and make military personnel look like boastful, self-righteous jerks. So, my bad. Well good luck with the civie world.
  3. Thanks guys. We're all happy to be home, and it feels good to know people out there support us. Now, my next goal: get my squad hooked on CM:SF.
  4. With the short barrelled SAW he is either SpecOps or airborne. </font>

  6. So, let me get this right. The only person allowed to voice their opinion is a Marine? If someone disagrees with a Marine they are not allowed to say so? Wow. Dude, you are a f#%king tool. You come in here and sling mud at the Army and then you get your panties all knotted up because someone confronts you on it. If you are a Marine then you need to start acting like one. Cut the boastful bull**** and grow up.
  7. Yeah...that's all BS. This has been floating around the internet for awile now. I think it is some clowns attempt to bring back 7.62 NATO and the .45. I say, kill the clowns, they are evil. Since when does IBA w/SAPIs weigh in at 6 lbs? And what kind of fool would belive that we are 'dismounting' the coax from M1's and M2's to use in and infantry role. Anybody here have any idea of how much of a pain in the ass that would be? The M14 reissued in bulk? Right, if 2 per company is bulk, I'm Iraqi. The only 1911 I've seen it the past year belonged to a LN, so I'm sure we are not reissuing those. What a tool. The SAW a peice of ****? My SAW gunner would kick you in the teeth for saying something like that. BTW, my M16A4 rocks. If you clean it, it will work. [/rant]
  8. The hell it does. We store some of the 7.62 for the coax out side, but all the 25 is in the Brad.
  9. HA! you said bivuac! You are a tanker! I agree with the whole smoking/chewing/looking at porn when idle idea though...
  10. Come on now, that would require effort! To hell with that! Oh, btw that thing is a wire cutter, I've seen them monuted on Strykers, right in front of the TC's hatch.
  11. Well, it's better than giving them a cold stare and ignoring their outstreched hand now isn't it?
  12. That reminds me. I've been wanting to ask someone...It seems like most of the pictures I see of the guys in Iraq have them wearing gloves and I've been wondering about that. What is the reason behind the glove wearing? In prior wars of the last hundred years I only recall soldiers wearing gloves if it was cold or for some special reason, like they were in the horse cavalry. So what's the story here? Seems to me that gloves would make your hands more clumsy for small tasks, like loading clips for instance. Are they at heightened risk to receive cuts, abrasions, or burns on the hands? 13. Thanks. I'm doing everything I can to come home in one peice, we're about two months out now, so we're all gettin a little froggy.
  14. AHHHH,for the love of God, no BCGs, please!!!1!
  15. You are deploying soon right? When we rolled out it was like the RFI flood gates opened and we had new gear comming out of our ears. Alot of our tankers have M4s w/M68s,ACOGs and EOTechs. Some have shotguns, it's crazy.
  16. Yeah, every infantymen has an optic. M4-M16A4-M16/203 all have either an M68, an ACOG or a EOTech 550 AA. I have the EOTech, and I love it. EOTech Most M249 and all M240B have the Elcan M145 M145
  17. If that is the SDM, I hope they replace the grapic with an ACOG. The one in the pic is a M68 Aimpoint, that's a close combat optic, no magnification.
  18. You will. I deployed last JAN, they started issuing the ACU that FEB. They really don't look half bad, they grow on you, that's for sure.
  19. What can I say? That's 3rd ID for ya. I think the priority on the M4 went to light units, like 101st, 82nd and 25th. I was in the 101st and we got the M4 back in 2000. I'm just gonna guess that they decided we would be fine with the A4 because the XM8 was on the horizon, now that that's scrapped, I should have a shinny new M4 waiting for me when I get home. That, and a set of ACUs...*holds breath*
  20. The groin/neck pro is nothing new, it is part of standard issue when you sign for your IBA. As far as wearing it goes, I think I was the only guy in my company to wear it when we arrived in Iraq. I stopped wearing it after about 3 months, it just gets in the way. The neck protector is another story, I make my gunners wear it when they are in the turret, and shoulder pads are required IAW SOP for anyone manning a turret on a gun truck. Shoulder pads are also in the "too restrictive to be useful on dimounted patrols" catagory. I'm an 11B so my days consits of patrols and check point security.
