  1. 9 mags, all on the same side of your body? That's gonna f**K up your shoulder after a couple hours. You might want to distribute your load better, and invest in a Garmin etrex. It gets a grid quicker than a PLGR or DAGR. Last thing, get a camelbak. Water in your cooler is worthless when your truck is on fire. If you plan on dismounting at all, you need water, period. Just my 2 cents. All that said, good luck PL! [ April 03, 2007, 05:24 PM: Message edited by: Angryson ]
  2. Wow! Looks great! I like the fact that they are putting the empty mag away and not simply dropping it. Only complaint - I wish you would get rid of the pro-mask carrier. So, I deploy in July, any chance I'll be running this on my laptop by then?
  3. Git yo' learn on This is what replaced the deuce and a half. There is a s#@t load of 'em in Iraq. All of the FMTVs I saw in-country were uparmored. [ October 18, 2006, 06:43 PM: Message edited by: Angryson ]
  4. If it's in, I'd like an option to turn it off.
  5. Those guys are so not SF it's not even funny. More than likely they are MPs or some other non 11B pulling 11B duty. The first guy looks like he's trying to look cool and doing a photo op. Notice the lack of 7.62 mag storage. The second guy just screams NG. I would say he's not sportin' a scope is because he hasn't had time to get to a decent range to zero. They keep you busy so finding time to get a good zero on weapon system that you pick up in-theater can be difficult.
  6. Yeah, I really couldn't see any way to develop valuable TTPs from watching trash like that. But that's just me.
  7. I'm with 3ID, our Abrams still have it. As far as uber-ness, the RPGs and SAF are no problem if the Abrams is employed properly with infantry. Basic combined arms, right?
  8. That sounds like a load of crap to me. The ma duce on top of the Abrams can be controlled by the commander while buttoned. This too sounds like poo. I know our 25mm capped some mofos, no problem. Wrong. We can reload them while under fire. That is just another one of the dismounts many jobs. And yes, we have adequate armor protection while doing it. This sounds more like someone played a little too much Battlefield 2 and decided to make all their judgements based on that rather than fact.
  9. Wow. Now I'm gonna be dreaming about CM:SF all weekend...
  10. All these photos make me miss Iraq. Is that wrong?
  11. HA! That's it exactly! Not really a fan of the bandolier, canvas or MOLLE, they flop around too much for me. [ August 11, 2006, 02:35 PM: Message edited by: Angryson ]
  12. Everyone carried a minimum of 7 mags, CO included. As Hellfish pointed out, alot of us carried more. I started with 13 but I cut it down to 9. 9 felt just right for me.
  13. Yeah, no one in my company carried an M9, except the CO, but he had an M4 also. They were faily common on my tour. Alot of us had drop pouches for our thighs (its a great way to carry 40mm) The knee pad ratio was fairly common, depending on the mission, if you are going on a patrol or a raid, you take knee pads. For individual radios we had 3 iComs per squad, for the SQD LDR nad TM LDRs. [ August 11, 2006, 05:04 AM: Message edited by: Angryson ]
  14. sgtgoody (esq), thank you. As you can see, we still tie down everything! The ACU replaced the BDU/DCU so it's the only thing we wear now. I'm still not quite sold on it, but it's not like I have a choice. Laters.
  15. Hmm... guess you haven't read Army Regulation 670-1 then Wait a minute... you're infantry right? That explains it. Everybody knows you guys can't read Steve </font>
  16. Hey, I figure if you got all of them, why not wear 'em?
  17. Right on. The 320 sounds sweet. I got back around January, since then I've been in the field and at ranges like it's going out of style. I'm really looking forward to CM:SF,you guys kick ass!
  18. The one in my photo is an M203A1, at least that's what is stamped on the side. How odd. I've never seen one with a barrel that short. edit: Ok, I'm looking at FM 3-22.31, 40mm Grenade Launcher, M203, Febuary 2003 page 3-1 and it says nothing about the barrel being shorter on the A1. All it says is the M203A1 is designed to be mounted on the M4 carbine series with the rail system. The photo it shows is identical my M203A1. And the technical data is identical for both the M203 and the M203A1. So, I'm not trying to be a prick, I just thought I'd point that out. [ August 04, 2006, 08:16 PM: Message edited by: Angryson ]
  19. Well, here's mine: I'm not trying to nit-pick, but it just looks...odd.
  20. Is it me, or does the tube on the 203 look a little short?
