  1. Well, as we are entitled to our opinions, I found this to be a more accurate analysis: It seems there are a lot of facts that some members of this board wish to ignore. During the BDA, the unit on the ground confirmed the presence of multiple RPG launchers and multiple RPG rounds. That is a fact. In addition to that, the AWT in question was responding to a report of Troops in Contact in one of the worst muhallas in Baghdad. New Baghdad is damn near in Sadr City, that area had one of the highest IED rates in the AOR during the summer of 07. Historically, Sadr City has been a breeding ground for JAM and JAM-SG. It is a very violent, very dangerous place. So, we have: TIC in Sadr City. AIF armed with AKs and RPGs spotted in the vicinity of the patrol that is in contact. Explain to me how this is not a righteous kill? As far as putting 30mm into the unmarked van is concerned, it wasn't marked as a first responder and the occupants were not wearing any type of uniform that would identify them as first responders. It is not unreasonable to believe that they were AIF aiding know AIF. AIF TTPs include "cleaning the scene" to remove all weapons IOT make it appear that the US is intentionally targeting civilians. @Sergei, AQI and JAM are some seriously bad people. We are talking world class rotten human beings. Ask me how I know. In addition to that, white, black and brown has nothing to do with it. Maybe you haven't noticed but Islamic extremism covers a pretty broad spectrum of skin tones. What exactly are you inferring btw? @JonS, I do not live under the premise that every human being is some how my brother. That may work for you, but not for me. My reasons for voluntarily going back to Iraq multiple times are my own. I am not going to attempt to explain them to you. In addition to that, if you wish to continue to throw insults, let me know when you will be in coastal Georgia and we can sort this out.
  2. Dude, I clearly stated that I made a mistake and misinterpreted the OP's intent. I am under no obligation to explain myself to you, and at this point, I honestly could careless about what you think. If you really have an ax to grind, by all means, pm me. Meanwhile, it might not be a bad thing if you take a break from derailing the thread.
  3. Jesus, get off your high horse already, guy. If you really feel the need to continue with your crap, take it to pm. In the mean time, I am going to continue to have my own opinion, if you don't like it you can go pound sand.
  4. Yeah, about that, apparently I jumped the gun and misunderstood the op's intent. Like I said, my bad. I'm an 11B with a fondness of radios, s#!t happens.
  5. Not my brothers, guy. Honestly, I think "bad people" is a wholly appropriate moniker for some of the "people" I have encountered in Iraq. What is your aversion to that phrase? Would you prefer something more vulgar? You need to get a clue, dude. Islamic extremist are not above using women and children as shields.
  6. Someone else on another board summed this event up pretty well: Now, I think that sums it up nicely but, the way I see it is: It's WAR. Whether you like it or not people are going to die, some good, some bad, some trapped in the middle. I have a really hard time buying the good Samaritan bit. Based on my experience, Iraqis tend to run around with blinders on, it it's not in their living room and it doesn't directly effect their family, they stay out of it. Stopping to render aid? I have seen more than a few Iraqi traffic accidents (no US involvement), I've have yet to see an Iraqi stop to render aid. If the average Iraqi won't stop for a traffic accident, what makes you think they would run Willy nilly into a 30mm HE is tearing bodies apart in the middle of the street type of scenario? Much less with their kids in the car? ETA: Some of you are armchair quarterbacking...er...general-ing with little or no operational experience. War games and actual shoot-mutha-frackas-in-the-face war are two completely different things. Sometimes you have seconds to make a decision that is no-s#!t life or death, sometimes you make the wrong decision and the wrong people die. If any of you feel that you could have made a better decision, I invite you to try: CLICK ME [/rant]
  7. Bingo. @Jon, I don't think you can be "cool" and be a member of this forum, this place is about as hip as a pocket protector. @Michael, I apologize for not conducting a thorough investigation prior to posting. [/sarcasm]
  8. Rgr, my bad. And since "rgr" isn't sufficient for this forum, I will now waste space. Blah blah blah I hope this meets the minimum character requirements for a post...
  9. Discussing SOI on an open forum? Granted you not asking about hopset compartments or KEK or TEK, but still... Just sayin'
  10. The reason I asked about the target is, if you are targeting a Stryker, or any other US vehicle, it should be equipped with a CREW system, and that could be your problem. Are you running it in "scenario author test" or whatever it's called? Maybe the AI is giving a hide order to the trigger man or something like that.
  11. What is your target? IIRC, Steve said something about CREW systems being implemented in some abstract fashion. Theoretically any RC-IED should have a really low success rate. Maybe try the scenario again, but replace the RC with a CW-IED?
  12. Mord, this mod is friggin awesome. "American chatter 20" is classic. Thanks for doing this!
  13. ^This.^ The shadows drive me nuts, they bring down the whole game IMO. Solution: turn them off and never look back.
  14. Thanks, I'm glad you guys like them. @LLF: All of the faces are stock. We definitely need a "Faces of the Infidel Crusaders" mod!
  15. Extract and place in your ā€˜zā€™ folder Most textures are modified stock BFC textures, I just photo shopped them. The textures for the Marine MTV and most of the Marine MOLLE gear came from an ArmA mod. I could not get a hold of the author, so it is what it is. This mod includes: - I fixed the pockets on the Marines, they should no longer look warped. - IR flash on Marine pockets - Dust added to uniforms - Correct sole on Marine boots - Added 4 variations to the Marine uniform, some slightly lighter or darker than others - Added shoulder pockets to Brits I hope you guys like it. GET IT HERE
  16. Those icons are shared with all BLUFOR. BTW, shameless shameless self-promotion here, if you want all BLUFOR icons to be blue check this thread. Or grab it here.
  17. Because that is how they appear on the FBCB2. That was my intent when I created this mod, or rather the mod that JohnO is basing the colored icons off of.
  18. I think that would be a great idea. It would be really cool to look at the screen and have no confusion over icons. It would make great sense if a team sized element was marked appropriately, it would make real time play a little less frantic. The issue with the M1114 showing up as a rifle SQD is getting old, fast. I would think it would be a minor programming tweak, but I know zip about programming.
  19. When I made the initial set, I thought that the icon was shared with some other vehicle. In any case it is an easy fix. It should share the same icon as the Sultan and the other Brit APC's, which have the correct APC "house" icon. I'm sure John can tackle it, I don't have the time for right now.
  20. The AH-6 is more than capable of carrying that load out.
  21. That's what she said! ZING! Sorry, I couldn't help it.
