That is what they are actually doing. There is an inevitable cycle of announcing a tentative date, hemming and hawing madly, then backing it up as far as necessary. This may be an inevitable product of their business model and the realities of software development. You have to view the whole process as a loveable eccentricity. Its sort of like how my wife puts up with my gaming habit. The one they did have to rush didn't improve anyone's month.

Putin cannot admit even partial defeat in Ukraine, it would probably sink his government. So the Russians will escalate as necessary, or until they go broke, I mean breadlines in Moscows broke, breadlines in the provinces don't count. I don't see how this gets better.

It takes a fair bit of fiddling but you can get what looks like exactly the same topo through google maps itself, without colors. Its the "cycle map" in the extra layers you can install directly from google. There are also a lot of geolocated pictures. I am surprised at the density of the vegetation. It looks like an dense vehicle proof tangle in the lower, better watered spots.
