  1. I am on the fourth battle now and just wanted to say that this is a really fun campaign. I've taken more casualties than I thought I would but have been able to force the enemy to surrender in every battle but the second. Mostly just wanted to say good job on this and its appreciated.
  2. Never mind I just opened up that scenario and it was just a regular wall not a balcony
  3. I’ve played scenarios where the ground floors had small little balconies. The manual says you can do it as well its just I can’t figure out how to do it. So does anyone know how to place balconies on ground floors?
  4. Does anyone know how to add balconies to the bottom floors of buildings? I read the manual and the key combo they have in there doesn’t seem to work. Every time I do the crtl-shift left click I only get upper level balconies. So is there some rule I’m missing?
  5. Well I thought about that but the two scenarios are going to involve totally different forces and the scenarios will be taking place about 20 days apart. By the way I love your campaigns and am looking forward to your new one.
  6. Thank you for playing it and commenting. I’m glad you liked it. Yea, I’ve made a few minor changes because I play tested it again after I read some previous reviews. The changes I’ve made shouldn’t change things drastically, I just wanted to make sure the troops in the vehicle reinforcement dismounted when they were supposed to and I also changed the final order for the gun technicals. I believe the last thing I did was to shrink the setup zones for the blue team, not by much though. Plus I’ve already started work on the sequel tentatively called “Taliban Response”. I’m currently working on the map and force composition. It’s a very ambitions plan and if I succeed I have no doubt that it will be the best scenario ever made. But like I said it’s a very ambition plan and I don’t know if it will work out like I want it to. Maybe if I had the creativity of George Mc while making this village I would be more confident. The basic story is going to be an attack on the SF/Afghan base by the Taliban and its allies. I have the blue OOB in order I just need to finalize the map and come up with a realistic red OOB and make there plans and such. I will post a screen shot in its own thread soon. I should be done in a week or so but I hate putting a deadline on art.
  7. Just made some minor changes to improve the scenario. Its updated at cmmods.
  8. Thanks, I am interested to see how people will tackle this mission.
  9. Thank you very much for your detailed feed back and I'm glad you enjoyed the map. I'm planning on coming out with a part two so to speak. It’s going to be an attack by the Taliban on the SF compound, more on that latter. I guess I should have been more clear in the briefing but your third platoon plus the other Apache were attacking the road block in the north of the valley (off map) in order to tie up reinforcements. The pick-ups that were in the village to the north were designed to go back there and wait out the fight. They brought all the extra fighters up to reinforce the road block and I didn’t want them to get shot up and give the player extra points so I had them retreat to the village for cover. Did the trucks still have the fighters in the back; if they did I need to fix that. I should have moved the touch objective to only one block inside the compound. I will make that improvement to the scenario. Thanks for your input on that. I’m wondering did you receive the counter attack at Khans compound. If you did how did you deal with it? I thought the counter attack at the compound was so witty and so far no one seems to be surprised by it.
  10. Spoilers Thank you for your comments. I am wondering how the reinforcements did that attacked the compound? Were they able to make it into the compound? I designed it so they would enter the compound through the same breaches the good guys did. I was worried how the vehicle mounted reinforcements would do. I was hoping they would be able to get to the road block before the player had time to stop them. Did you hit any of the IED’s? If you have the time could you either post here or pm me with what your plan was and what course of action you took? Thanks for the feed back.
  11. This map is loosely based on my recollections of a valley in the Nuristan region of Afghanistan. At that time, which was a few years ago, we had local troops attached to us and whenever possible they would clear certain buildings like Mosques and such. We then where trying to train the locals to do all of their dirty work themselves so, that is what inspired me to make this scenario. The time limit is two hours which is plenty of time. I just enjoy even on really small maps to be given the most amount of time so that I can make trough plans and be as cautions as I want. At least in my mind there is nothing on this map which is unrealistic. Like the town rabble being equipped with T-90’s or AT-14’s. I tried to make this mission as realistic as possible. The Afghan SF are well equipped and of high motivation. The Mech forces are equipped fairly and are of high motivation. All of the Khans troops are fanatical due to the fact that they are of the same tribe and most of them are related. They are poorly equipped and vary from conscript (being the younger inexperienced men), green (having some experience in tribal skirmishes) and regular (having more fighting experience than the rest and some training from the Taliban). I think the force mixture is good. Let me know what you think.
  12. Oh and I forgot to add this is meant for blue side play only the red side doesn't have a briefing. I guess you could play it two player but like line one says there is as of now no red briefing.
  13. Hello, I have just uploaded to Cmmods my very first CMSF scenario. The story is; a regional tribal leader declares independence from the Afghan government and the fledgling Afghan Special Forces and the fledgling Afghan Mech forces are tasked with putting this rebellion down. You are the commander of a US SF team who has been training the Afghan SF teams and you are to go along and observe how your pupils do. Give me feed back here please whether it is good or bad. Oh yes it is primarily red vs. red.
  14. The M2 equiped on Humv's and such fire a different .50 than does the sniper rifle.
  15. Another great George. Thanks for putting in so much time. I'm currently an hour into the campaign and am already biting my nails. I had to restart due to losing to many units the first time I gave it a shot. Great scenario and thanks again.
  16. Possible Spoilers: I know one of the problems brought up was the poor spotting by the red force; well I have had a very different experience in George MC’s new campaign. I am playing Blue and had just got done clearing the first few NAI’s when I had my fancy scout HMV on Hwy 3 along with its escort M2 HMV, my command Bradley and two M1’s. They not only didn’t get the first shot off, the fancy HMV, one of my M1’s and the escort HMV were all knocked out by some armor advancing in the area of route blue. Plus the M1 that was knocked out missed with his first return shot. In addition to these vehicles I also lost a Bradley on the hill near the wooded NAI, he was knocked out by the same advancing armor. So these are just a few examples I’ve seen that tell me that there isn’t a huge advantage built in, I think it might have something to do with the troop quality. All my units where regular and I don’t know what the red force experience is but I bet if I had vet, crk or elite I might have spotted the enemy first.
  17. Thank you forum police but I was merely pointing out that it wasn't on cmmods yet.
  18. Hahahahha, this gave me a laugh because its probably true. I remember when there was all the speculation going on about what this game was going to cover. I was hoping for a cold war setting and to be honest when they anounced it was going to be a modern setting I didn't think it would be very cool. But I was wrong and love the setting now.
  19. The only thing I would change is the time. I ran out of time at the end and received a total defeat. Spoilers: At the end I had two Humves left, one occupied, one unoccupied and a few men of my original crew left alive. The Deltas were out of ammo and my one police squad alive had a decent amount of ammo. But I used caution with my reinforcements and ran out of time before I reached the jail to take my captive out of the danger zone. There were only 34 enemies left able to fight and I would have liked another 30 minutes or so to deal with them. Like I said its one of the best ever, definitely in my top five.
  20. Birdstrike, this is one of the best scenarios out there. Its a good mix of attack and defend I wish there were more scenarios out there like this. Your scenario ranks up there with some of George M's best scenarios.
  21. Alek, my comparison of the AT-3 to an AT-14 was kind of weak I agree. I was merely just using an example of RL tankers being able to see ATGM launched at them from hidden locations. There are training aides for the US AT-4 as well. It’s a mock of an AT-4 that shoots a 9mm tracer round. There are various other training aides for other weapons. My point mostly dealt with how often the Syrians actually get good training on their weapon systems and how important they think training is. I could be wrong but I don’t see the Syrians being as well training on their equipment as soldiers coming from Eastern European countries. Bigduke you have a great point about terrain. I believe Lebanon has more similar terrain to Syria than does the Sinai and the Israeli’s had some trouble due to the RPG-29. But part of that was due to poor leadership on the Israeli’s side. From what I read it seemed like the Israeli tanks were sitting ducks. Maybe they underestimated the Hezbollah AT capabilities. It is true, the US hasn’t faced a competent ATGM front but that is kind of my point. It’s not the Soviet era weapons which make their armies crappy it’s the way they use them. Before the invasion of Iraq we were told about their ATGM’s and how dangerous they could be. Well I never heard of any attacks by them I don’t even know if they had them because if they did I don’t think they used them. So I doubt the Syrians would do any different. Maybe I am under estimating them.
