  1. No, the exe file is missing. I'm pretty sure it was patched to 1.21.
  2. I just purchased the NATO module and noticed my Marines are now missing. I read in another post someone had a similar problem and the solution was to reinstall everything. But....... my problem is is that the Marine module is the only module I purchased exclusively through digital DL and dont have a hard copy of. Any known solutions?
  3. I'm currently playing this mission and set my helo to area target at the begining of the mission. To my suprise I discovered that the helo KOed at least one of the tanks. First time I've seen that.
  4. Damian, good stuff nice read. On vehicle damage in game, I am playing a campaign currently and one of my M1A1 FEP’s has received radio damage with a big red X. I have found (even though it is a FEP model) that it does not spot what friendly units have spotted and in fact he still hasn’t spotted a certain pesky BMP-2. Maybe I’m wrong but I attributed this to the radio being damaged. His IR and targeting are slightly damaged as well but this didn’t seem to affect him as much as the radio being down. Seeing as he had no problem spotting enemy units that were already spotted by a friendly unit.
  5. Actually that's the rarely seen 200rd magazine.
  6. I was in the madi in 05 and if you look close you can see me standing gaurd on the roof of our compound.
  7. On the original issue of LOS/LOF, I think it is more obvious if you are playing as the Syrians. 90% of the time I play with the western nations against the Syrians and I have found my western forces have little problems with spotted and destroying the Syrians. Although the building LOS/LOF is a problem but not a game breaking one to me just an annoying one. But the times I have played red vs red I have noticed my BMP’s, Tanks and even infantry take far longer to spot and bring accurate fire on an enemy. I thought this was intentional due to the fact the Syrians have less modern equipment like Fleers etc… So my conclusion is that it is supposed to be this way. But….. I do find it annoying that when my vehicle is unbuttoned and it is day time clear conditions that my troops still have a problem spotting the enemy that is right in front of them at close range. I think that is the issue and Syrian spotting should be improved at closer ranges during day time hours. My solution would be to give Syrian units with binos 85 to 90 percent the spotting ability of western units within 500 meters. Units without binos should have close to the same ability at spotting targets within 200 to 250 meters. Paper Tiger your riding the bus while trying to conceal the board game comment was hilarious.
  8. I didn't have my game patched to 1.21. That may have been it I'm DL'ing right now.
  9. Actually I cant get either to open althought the base UK version is showing a file size the USMC version isn't.
  10. Maybe its me but when i opened the the file the USMC version was empty. The only one I could open is the base version.
  11. You probably did I most likely missed it. Its great to see people still pumping out great scenarios. Keep them coming.
  12. I have failed my country I earned a US minor defeat. In every battle I forced the Syrians to surrender but I had 4 WIA and 2 KIA. Both KIA’s occurred in the last mission one managed to find a mine field and the other due to small arms fire. Great work keep it up, I think this campaign is perfect and am going to give tip of the spear a try. The only thing is, that unless something changed since I departed from the Army, the 101st is not an airborne unit anymore. They are now air assault which as far as these great scenarios are concerned doesn’t really matter.
  13. Just watched it online and that was a very informative report. Again thanks for the heads up.
  14. Oh and generally all Al Qada and Taliban fighters with any real combat experience are usually called martyrs because they died gaining their combat experience. I bet you’d be real hard pressed to find any of those fighters who have survived several pitched battles. But they are brave and they do believe in their convictions enough to die for them I’ll give you that.
  15. You know in my opinion this is one battle in a war that could easily be won by the “West”. And some usually American citizens love to point at this one battle and say “see this proves someone else is better than us so we should just give up”. Small scale battles like this don’t take great military minds to plan and conduct especially when it’s in your own backyard and terrain clearly favors you. Now if sustained attacks like this happen frequently then I as a Westerner would be worried that our military isn’t the best. If you remember the same thing happened in Iraq if the terrorist had any little success and now it looks like the military campaign in Iraq is finally paying off. But that’s the key, military campaigns take time and blood. That’s what some don’t seem to understand. And to call these sub-humans who like to decapitate husbands in front of their families or stone women for not wearing their burkas some kind of elite or worlds best fighter is ridiculous, see my second paragraph. I seriously don’t think they could keep this kind of pace due to attrition issues on their own side which I believe proved the key to success in Iraq.
  16. Why do you want to return it? Do you not enjoy the game play? I’m the type of gamer that just enjoys the content of the game and gripe when that is foul. Out of all the growing pains that this game has gone through I would think that a fancy cover would be the least of the gripes. Maybe it’s just me but I’ve looked at the manual and there’s nothing in there that would warrant any study if you’ve played CMSF before. The only difference is the different equipment our brothers across the pond use. And that takes about ten minutes of reading the PDF manual to see. So I’m happy with the game and am indifferent about a fancy cover and manual. The only thing I can kind of see is maybe a cheaper price for the striped down version. I paid $45 USD all said and done, which if they included direct download and just the disk for $25 and $10 for shipping for a total price of $35 would sound better. I do see your point in paying the same price for the Marines and not getting the fancy extras but I do not think that would warrant a refund. There the internet judge has made his decision no further debate needs to take place.
  17. Both were campaigns, one was The Brit campaign and the other was Road to Dinas.
  18. 1.20. When is the new patch due, few weeks or few months?
  19. Same thing happened to me. It seems to me that I am noticeing a lot more little bugs with this new patch maybe its just me. Still great game though.
  20. During the setup phase of a couple different battles I placed a delay of five minutes on an arty strike. I saved the game and exited, when I fired it up again I noticed that my delay had changed to immediate. I play real time elite settings.
  21. No it has to do with the game clock. I saved this battle at 39:59 and when I started it back up it had 38:54 on the game clock so it lost a little over a minute.
  22. Thanks for the replies. I understand that bugs are going to fall through the cracks and I know BFC reputation so I’m sure all the problems will be ironed out. I’m just griping because I really enjoy this game, its great but it’s like going on a date with a smoking hot woman and when you sit down for dinner she eats with her mouth open and farts at the table. So other than a few small annoying problems I am very happy with this game and can put up with these things because I know they will be fixed. I’m just worried that they will all be ironed out then you’ll release another awesome game like a week later and I’ll start playing that one instead of CMSF. About the time limits; I understand the reasoning behind them and in reality the Syrians usually surrender before the time runs out but I just don’t like to be rushed without a valid tactical reason. Because the Syrians aren’t Germans and their counter attacks aren’t to vicious plus it’s hard to counter attack if your forces are running to Damascus as fast as possible. I like to take my time and keep my causalities down especially when these maps are first class maps and if they had a little more time I feel I could enjoy the maps to their fullest. To the scenario designers, great job on the maps, so far they are great looking. With the exception of some force mixture issues I think these maps are near perfect
