  1. it seems to me that the AI just leaves it up to you to choose the special ammo types sometimes. People say that the AI is smart enough to pickup weapons all by itself and does so
  2. where is that British tank the tortoise
  3. Bruce, never bash CM on these forums, a lot of peeps are particular fanbois from the next room over. Don't mention the war Mr Faulty!!
  4. i will download and try this one....
  5. What is your plan for elicense in a few years if Battlefront goes under? Not that it will happen but then again atomic went under... and support is nowhere to be seen for close combat. If it had e-license....
  6. 1. unload the gun and passengers. Does not matter which order, although I find it better to unload the gun then move the truck away before unloading the men to avoid gridlock 2. Highlight the men and move the cursor over the gun until you get the open door symbol 3. right or left click (cannot remember which) 4. be patient while they sort them selves out
  7. don't like that tigger pic quite as much
  8. random spawning is good. that enough for me i think to have some great games
  9. i kind of agree,, but in a lot of missions they do appear off map and you even exchange fire before they arrive on the map for km's
  10. it is in. WHen you select a tank you see the red covering arc lines
  11. I would hate it if hold position meant act dumb and never change facing. If you want to do that use AT guns. Perhaps using defend aswell as hold position after stop?
  12. THanks Webwing and Oudy. I have composed il2 Sturmovik missions aswell as ARMA/OPFP missions. The main problems I have with them is the static nature of the missions making replay value limited. In OPFP you can script a mission to have many unknown or random events happen that make missions a little more replayable. Such as putting a unit into the mission which has an % chance of actually spawning when the mission is loaded etc I would be looking for this in the TOW editor. I do not want to see the same counterattack happen evertime I hit the objective. I do not want to see the same units appear everytime I hit the objective. It would even be great to see the enemy retreat intelligently. If this is not possible thats ok, but this will mean that the game does not compare even to Close Combats limited AI..... but in another way means that missions designers can have a lot more fun and that a lot more things are possible. For instance close combat AI cannot be told what to do, it acts on its own according to the map you put it on. However after a while you can second guess what the AI will do in a given situation.... with OPFP and a more limited script it may be possible to insert 100 random missions into a 10 mission campaign so that you have no idea what will happen.
  13. I believe the DVD patch just brings the DVD version to the current download version. i.e. when the download version was created well after the DVD version
  14. OK... so basically if you tell the AI to be on the attack or on the offensive buy giving it objectives like the player has. Capture the hill or defend the bridge does the AI make good decisions on where to deploy its forces?? Or do you have to go so far as waypointing them down to the last unit...... I guess if anybody has done any flashpoint mission making can you compare it to that ??? As I have done flashpoint missions and scripting. Oh and how does this compare to CC and CM AI?? Was CM AI on rails per mission? I know CC AI yo could build any map you liked and the AI just seemed to take to it if the map maker programmed it correctly??
  15. ahhh, good.... always like the matilda2 I know the only thing that could kill a matilda2 was the 88 which is the first time it was used in the AT role. The Germi's were desperate to stop the matilda's with anything because they were unstoppable during one counterattack
  16. I played one via lan for a test and had no probs. But thats not really online and less likely to have sync issues
  17. I would like to see just how good the AI is in a equal forces match. Is the AI really on strings in this one? I.e. if you create a mission with no orders/waypoints for the AI will it still try to beat you
  18. thats the spirit, is the manual colour or just photocopy quality
  19. errrm can somebody tell me whether it is more than just a CD? what are the box contents?
  20. Its to be expected. However their is a campaign maker tool supplied with the game if you want to make something more realistic for the community
  21. I'm sure that modders can fix all of this. Was it the Matilda1 in france or the II?? Matilda2 looks cool but I seem to recall it was the matilda1 that took part in the battle of france
  22. that would be cool, just not stabalising them and sending them back into combat. Rather a waste of frames\cpu though
