extremely frustrated at a compaign mission
Destraex replied to RadishRabbit's topic in Theatre of War
you can save in game u know.... but thats not the point -
1. no objectives. not terribly concerned although it would be nice. So that players do not go ww1 defensive 2. no ability to purchase your own units 3. not concerned, the community will make enough 4. to be expected 5. Coop VS AI ??? is it in

LOS and trees\scrub does the AI ignore brush?
Destraex replied to Destraex's topic in Theatre of War
I really have to start pressing enter to see if my guys have a real LOS -
that does not bother me. Because as long as I can have infantry to make the balance I am ok... the maps are too small for much larger tank engagements- 8 tanks per side is enough

I played advance squad leader back in the day. awesome game, played close combat and many simulation oriented games like sturmovik, silent hunter etc tried CM but did not like it much, everything seemed to perfect and contrived with all the pausing and perfectly coreographed movements (prepared for flame

Hi Benpark, I knew I'd see you here I agree with you, the AI needs if morale is not broken to decide to withdraw at some point and the human player given the same option. P.S. what do you think of this compared to EYSA
-
Had many instances where the AI seems to be able to sight and shoot straight through trees and low brush. Has anyone else noticed this?

I want to know whether AI can be put as enemy - essentially coop

For those with the game - did they fix the building entry?

Can buildings indeed be populated or is it only open field combat? -
"Whirlwind of Vietnam" status - same team as ToW?
Destraex replied to Redwolf's topic in Theatre of War
wow looking forward to that one!!! if its anything like il2 sturmovik should be great -
this looks absolutely great.... only minor problem is that their are only VERY LARGE long undulating hills rather than the smaller dead ground and sharper rises you get in real life. I mean some places will be exactly as described in the screenshots, long perfectly rounded hills stretching for 1km or more. In RL I noticed a lot of rough ground which is not flat or a soft gradient but sharp gadients perhaps within a smaller hill that is perfect for infantry only. Are their any cliffs, overhangs or terrain that is impassable to tanks but not infantry?? Again, this is just a minor thing i noticed

I think what he means is "can infantry be deployed in buildings on the lower or upper levels like in CM. Also will they fight each other in buildings.

I would like to clear up how much detail is being taken with the infantry. I really want to know whether the infantry are just accessories to the vehicles - you know they support them a little but are really their for looks. OR Like in Close Combat you can have a very intense infantry combat experience without any vehicles on the map. I am sure this will become clear over time and am really hoping that in a game of this scale infantry play a major part.

Does new release reflect changes for CMx2 WWII plans?
Destraex replied to kgsan's topic in Theatre of War
This is pretty much what I am hoping will turn out to be a mcuh improved Close Combat but in 3D -
steal beasts pro PE - modern but could be good - its shipping now steelbeasts.com T72 is pretty good, it would be cool if their were expansions with more interesting tanks though. Not sure about steal beasts as it is very veryt expensive [ADMIN: commercial link edited] [ March 07, 2006, 07:23 AM: Message edited by: Moon ]
