  1. I have a email that I can send that has some sniper footage from Afgan, shows more than just pink spray, the question I pose if you want to view it, is the footage real? Also, for a side note, I was a sniper and did have to work in a team with a spotter, so are you sure you still want your request, because I might be able to fulfill that for you. 2. I think my quote points out clearly the mental level of your request for the pink mist. You want to be entertained by morbid graphics, I give unto you morbid thoughts. It appears to be what you want.
  3. I have a better solution to those that need the pink mist, put on a uniform and head to Iraq, if you are unlucky, maybe you will see your own sprayed in your face.
  4. This is correct, you should find the manual on the disk. For the answer to questions like you asked, the manual will be of no help. it is best to do a search here, see if it has been discussed before or hope for someone like Kingfish to answer your question. If you really want to understand how the weapons work against certain targets, it is best to start learning to set yourself up some test scenarios which you can run quickly and see irst hand how effective certain combinations are against certain targets. You remember it better also, if you seen it tested anyway.

  6. A interesting site, thanks for sharing it. It is fun to hit these sites, it makes me wonder how one might hit a site like it searching for something but in previous searches for the same subject, it has never shown up. That is how it seems for me at times anyway.
  7. I do not play the AI much, but I have seen it preform the first function. I remember one battle where it had its forces committed to the middle of the map. I knowing it to never change tactics pulled my units from the right flank and then watched as it pulled units and sent them down that flank to try and outflank my armor. Made for a interesting game, but I cannot tell you how it was triggered but that it did happen. Pretty rare though.
  8. While we wait for the next Generation of games from this company, which appears will still be some time. I have a question that we all can answer. Why is the present combat mission games the best war games on the market at this time? You only need to submit a response as long as you agree. I personally feel that the reason for me that these games are my favorite is because of how well the games have modeled the real life concept of firepower and how it works. By no way does this mean that the games have it perfect or that the weapons are all represented correctly. But where the game has truly shined is how the weapons interact with each other and how units are influenced by them. I do not know of any other games that come close as to portraying the effects on troops and armor under fire in a realistic way. I also appreciate the fact that the game was designed to allow for the user to also be able to design (without being a computer wiz). Most computer games lock you out of doing very much of that. I figure mostly because of desiring future sales of modules and protecting their game system. But the truth is you can never gain a long term customer unless the product can entertain for a long time. These games will continue to entertain until the average user stops investing design time. This is the only reason I am excited for the new games that are coming about from BFC. I hope they will give me plenty of reuse as the present games presently do, even though I will need to buy the modules.
  9. Thanks for the offer Kingfish but i would like to learn how to do it myself. I would like to do another Tournament but I need to find more time than what I have at the moment. I can not say how long it will be before I will be able to run another one.
  10. You have decreased the odds by half, that is a big difference in my book. So when you give the order to bump the bogged vehicle is there anything special which you are doing or are you just ordering it to move close to the bogged one.
  11. I had not thought about it, it would not be to hard if I had one of them converting programs I have not checked into for the maps to be converted, would hate to do it the normal way. Normally When I make scenarios they are only on my machine and that of a few close friends. So I do not think about that stuff. I have maybe 40 or so that might be good enough to submit but I do not seem to want to do it. I am toying with running another tournament, similar format but most likely in cmbb or cmak
  12. Hey John, Thanks for a great link, I am finding it very interesting, this stuff is great. This is the type of info that seems hard to come by, finding comments from the soilders of the period.
  13. One again, with little effort of someone who did not know better than to start this topic. The forum has been used to discuss the politics of how we view the countries that were at war. How history is twisted and our views are distorted. How some feel it is their duty to try to right the wrongs of the past and help all the rest of us see it straight. My question is, is this all that is going to be discussed at this site anymore? And surely lets not forget all the comments about how wargaming is not just wargaming. It is a tool for Nazi recruiting, for US propaganda, or whatever, and surely it is. Maybe so, but for the vast majority of us it is just that, wargaming, and it gets old listening to the warning voice of Nazi’s around the corner wanting to brainwash me as I play the game. What is amazing to me is this seems to be the treads that you all want to join in on and how the site has become more of this than with issues of the game and how to play and make it better. I would have enjoyed seeing a post of the top 20 games that portray the eastern front battles most correctly by some of the knowledgeable players. Instead of seeing them waste their time, slamming the work of others that are doing what they could in the hobby with what skills they have. We are not all born with such in depth knowledge as to just create perfect scenario’s that meet the standards of some like JasonC, which I wish would come out and tell us all what his motivation is to continue to write lengthy comment after comment at this forum. Jason, some have asked you why not write a book, you have a strong desire to teach tactics and explain history as you have interpreted it. Why waste your efforts here when you could influence many more people than those that just play this game. Please explain, I just do not get it. In all, I am just wanting to say, I wish that those that put their time here in at the forum would think of ways to promote the hobby, help make it more enjoyable for others and learn to help raise other gamers up in the hobby. The discussions on tactics and proper play and helping newbies understand the game are great and many efforts have been done in these endeavors, but stop undoing the good with this type of tread that does so much to damage the interest and involvement of so many that are just trying to enjoy the hobby. 14. I see how little of a fish I am. But yes I recently hosted a Tourney for CMBO here at this site. Had 14 participate, finished with 12. They were required to play 3 games at a time and they finished each round in about 2 months. It was only two rounds, so 6 games. I actually was sent files from some games so I could see the quility of play, Out of the games I reviewed I know I had a half dozen good players at least. K. A. Miles was a very good player and acted older than his age, which was not known until later. He will be a good competitor in any tournament he is allowed to play, and hope this might help in getting him concidered here, since it appears to be by invitation. Also do not be harsh on my spelling and grammer, I did manage to finish first grade. [ April 10, 2006, 08:18 AM: Message edited by: slysniper ]
  15. I unlocked the Russian units, allowed for set up changes and played the Russians as the defenders in a PBEM. As mentioned, it is not designed for the Russians to win, but had great fun playing it this way and did manage to make it a very close fight, might have won if it was not for the plane. So, maybe it is not a fight how you guys want to imagine it, but there is a few of you that think the Russians need to be the Hero's alway, so you are no better than the Nazi freaks, how about looking how to make balence Scenario's that both sides have a chance. This one only needed a few guns switched over to the 76 ers and it would make for a great PBEM as long as the defence is unlocked. Some of you guys really need to get a life, stop slamming everything that is not to your likes and realize this is a game and you all are not great war hero's. You would be amazed as to how many players there are out there that talk about your comments and laugh at your attitudes but are not willing to say anything because they know you will just reply thinking you know it all and are God's of this forum. 16. I just looked for the files here at home and only found the game but did not locate the briefing files, there might still be copies at work since that is where I kept most of the tourney info. I am not hopeful though, I did not want to keep your files since it was yours to submit to the public, so I likely have removed your files from my system when I have done clean ups. The players were sent the files detached in email outlook format, so you would need two players to reply. Also I recall the battle did not have the title on it, it was only found at one location within the game. So some might not remember the game called that, you had labeled it battle #4
  17. Good decision, I would not buy any machine for the new games until the games are out and you can find out for sure what it will take to run them nicely. The exist. games at this point can run on systems that are a few years old, anyone should be able to get a out dated system for cheap and play them to their hearts content.
  18. Thus a challenge for Rockape, how to find CMAK also for 99p in a bargain bin. Ambush is all you have to work with, or using a move command if available that will limit your line of site. Sometimes rotating will help slow down the amount of rounds fired at unwanted targets.
  19. I just want to say, good job in finding something worth posting. This game site has been droping in quility for awhile and it was just refreshing to see someone show some results in game play that has some type of real value to play.
  20. For those interested, I just placed the Norrey Scenario at the new Depot, also "What were we thinking" has been there for a week. I will also be entering "The Bloody Stream" when I get a chance.
  21. You replied before I could even correct mine, shows you what type of typist I am.
  22. I expereanced the same thing in the play testing except I was sitting at 38% instead of a advantage, so I attempted to push for the city with armour only just to see the results since I was play testing. I lost 2 or 3 panzers and did manage to get to the edge of town. It was ugly, it was stupid, there would be no way to hold the town. But in game terms I found I was at the same 38% even with the losses. For I did manage to take out some guns and tanks, opened up more infantry to my little remaining support fire and did neutralize the big flag only because timing made it impossible for the allies to remove me from town, but given a few turns that would not be the case. Some tweaks to the flag values and maybe locations would likely be all that is needed for a more balenced scoring scenario, but other than that, its a great scenario. The heavy quantities of arty made me feel more like a real German trooper, because that is more like how the real war was fought. The allies were not great tactical fighters, but they did know how to dump plenty of arty as part of gaining fire supremecy [ January 17, 2006, 04:46 PM: Message edited by: slysniper ]
  23. Just email me your address that you would like it sent to. Sounds like trouble, He has to see me as a No Good Northern Yankee. I am originally from out West, dont aim your Muskets just yet. I am declaring Neutrality. [ January 12, 2006, 05:12 AM: Message edited by: slysniper ]
  24. I will be looking at picking up one player for PBEM also, hopefully CMBB or CMAK since I already have some fun CMBO PBEM Buddies, let me know if any of you are interested.
  25. I will be sending Miles his certificate of achievement once I have a address. I am weighing if I should frame it or mount it on a wood plaque. I am glad to see he is state side, thus saving me money. Miles is a North Carolina boy, I am down there a few times each year, wonder if he would like a visitor. He has Miniatures, never known anyone that was into that much. Of course he is only 20 or 21, so how big could his collection be. Thus one other point, this young man did a number on some of these seasoned players
