  1. Will the latest session be put up on the Youtube channel?
  2. Possible but in the past they have made official announcements and started a new forum 4 to 8 weeks before the game is to be released so your window is quickly closing.
  3. jh -I'm convinced! John K.- Poland Betrayed looks like a good choice.
  4. You're right, but so is Myles in that BF said it would be a pack and not a module in that there would not be an over all theme to it, which gives them freedom as to what to include such as possibly the French.
  5. It being the 100th anniversary of the start of WWI, which I'm sure you all know, I started reading The Sleepwalkers. You're welcome to comment on my choice, but this September will be the 75th anniversary of the start of WWII in Europe. Any recomendations for a book(s) on the 1939 Polish campaign? Thanks Edit: Wow what a typo in the thread title
  6. I vote this the most improved Combat Mission thread ever.
  7. You don't want a job? Good! Break NDA and tell us something!
  8. It's Battlefront's fault so many threads are going Peng lately. They've not given us any thing new to talk about (well other than precision artillery etc). We're resorting to beating up on past and present forum members. Marco Bergman, where the hell are those silhouettes? Mord, get off your butt and get those portraits done!
  9. Is the the Peng thread spilling over into another thread again? Back! Back I say. On the otherhand this thread may force Steve to make an appearance just to lock it and prove the Battlefront team are not on a drinking binge somewhere in Brazil.
  10. Let's not talk about bringing Dorosh back. Let's try and get that MikeyD guy to give us a bone!
  11. What if you are caught behind the live sheep?
  12. I first read about Combat Mission in Computer Games magazine in 1998 I believe. At the time it was still being billed as a sort of Advanced Squad Leader for the computer. After it came out I did not think it would run on the computer I had at the time since other 3-d games did not. I finally saw CMBO in a store for $15 in 2004 and took a risk and bought it. It ran great. My one regret was I could have been playing four years earlier. I think I still might have that issue. Anyone interested if I scanned and posted it?
  13. Yes, and ever wonder why doornails are any deader than other inanimate objects?
  14. Hi all, Growing up in California we learned about the Donnor Party in school, but I was curious how widespread knowledge of the story might be around the world. What do you know of it? Thanks
  15. I only play HoI I but the issue I found most unrealistic is one could start building almost as much as one wanted of a given unit type as long as one had the resources. There was no tooling up. You could instantly build as many destroyers for example as you wanted. No need to have shipyards pre-existing to build them in. Perhaps that was changed in later games.
  16. Well that was Don Quixote actually.
  17. Yeah it's kind of like my fantasy about Cameron Diaz.
  18. What every body else has said plus here is what they have said they'd like to do that as far as we know they haven't even started: 3 more Ostfront games and their modules. Battle of the Bulge and modules through the end of the war in the West. A reboot of Combat Mission Shock Force. That's already years of work. The Theater that's not on the list they are most likely to do would be North Africa I'd say. For anything else the most likely chance we probably have is a Third party doing something like Combat Mission Afghanistan
  19. A little off topic, I think there was a resort named Pen Island whose website was *****land.com of course.
  20. I think Mr Emrys is right. I can say that beacause he doesn't put it in his sig anymore. On the other hand it wouldn't be hard for the BF team to go to Brazil as one of them lives there anyway.
  21. In summer/fall 1941 the Commonwealth had their hands full enough with Rommel, plus they had just occupied Iraq, Vichy controlled Syria and Lebanon, and cooperated with the Soviets to invade Iran. Additionally there was plenty of justified concern about the Japanese so no I don't think it really could have happened. Japan attacking the Soviets would have been more likely. There's a recent board game "Strike North" covering this possibility.
