  1. There are other mod sites now that actually work. I wish modders would use them. http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/ for example.
  2. Could someone upload this to a site that actually works!
  3. I use a pair of Koss studio type headphones. Don't even have speakers. Until the latest patch I couldn't hear but about 20% of the gunfire in the game. Now I can hear everything and it's glorious. I'm really glad Charles finally got it to work with my High Definition Audio. I have the equalizer set to Powerful. Between this game (with Oddball's sound mod) and my music, I'm afraid my headphones will need replacing soon.
  4. A giant thank you to Charles for fixing the sound channel problem! Until now, I've only heard about 20% of the sounds. Now a firefight actually sounds like one.
  5. I was under the impression that CMSF is pretty much a lost cause concerning QBs and that the 'working' version of QBs will be for Normandy and later (i.e. CMSF2).
  6. How about uploading your folder somewhere so we can download it? I only have 130 maps.
  7. Some of us would like to see one sooner than that.
  8. Am I the first to pre-order? If so, do I get a cookie?
  9. I uploaded the mod (There Goes the Sun) to www.cmmods.com [ February 09, 2008, 08:30 PM: Message edited by: Stirling ]
  10. Thanks, The Louch! That works. The sun looks like a photon torpedo now, but that's fine with me.
  11. That only works if your graphics application can do alpha channels. Mine can't. Maybe one of you modders out there could try this out for us. Please.
  12. I agree 1000% percent. Lens flares are silly -- unless we're supposed to be pretending that we're a camera instead of a commander.
  13. Yes. How does one retain transparency? I'm using Paint Shop Pro 6.
  14. Vehicles in CMx1 were excellent at evading superior foes. That AI routine is still completely absent in CMSF, or the vehicles are just ridiculously blind. Either way, it needs fixing.
  15. Very nice. I wondered when they would get around to dynamic lighting. Maybe flares will be feasible now.
  16. But those statements were made when WEGO was totally broken. RT was the only way to play.
  17. I used to watch my father jump from Hueys when he was with the Special Forces. He always landed fine. The ones who flew into powerlines or barbed wire fences didn't have much fun, though.
  18. There are many of us that find that MOVE command decision (among others)...umm...perplexing.
  19. You can extract textures and sounds using MultiEx Commander. It doesn't give proper folder hierarchy (or even names, for that matter), but you can poke around some before we get the real deal. I was using the shareware version. The registered version might be more useful. I can't be held liable for any damage you do, of course. http://multiex.xentax.com/ [ October 31, 2007, 07:23 PM: Message edited by: Stirling ]
