  1. I experienced such a thing, too. I had a US squad on the rooftop (with high walls) of a 2 story building and a syrian (special forces) squad in the street below (open ground). The US were slaughtered one after the other in a few seconds, without the possibility to reply to the syrian fire. It was frustrating... EDIT: I see now that this is a bug that will be fixed with the next patch. That's good news indeed!
  2. Sgt Joch, thank you for your recommendations. I will take them into account for future readings. I ended reading Carell's book because it was the only one on Eastern Front translated in italian in my bookshop.
  3. what makes it toilet paper? Inaccuracy, false information, fictional way of accounting? I remember his book on Barbarossa was interesting to read, but honestly I don't have enough knowledge on the subject to judge it.
  4. What about Paul Carell's "Invasion! - They're coming!", a perspective of D-Day from the german side? I have read the first of Carell books on Eastern Front and it was not bad. I haven't seen mentioned Cornelius Ryan's "The longest day". Is this considered not a "grognard" reading?
  5. Basically, it is not important WHEN it will be released, but HOW it will be released, so take all the time necessary to produce a solid simulation. We have enough good "food" to survive in the meantime...
  6. Slightly OT: and the NATO module is programmed for 2009 or 2010?
  7. Fantastic video!! Really a tough fight! And I couldn't believe my eyes: a new hunt animation! That's exactly what I hoped for! Does it apply to US soldiers too?
  8. But in the specific case of CMSF, we have sections of 8 men which have to fit in Warriors, where the crew is already 3? Or one of the crew is the commander which is one of the section of 8 men? I am confused again...
  9. Ok, now all is clear. Thanks for the clarification
  10. So, maybe Warrior capacity could be extended to 8 passenger to fit a whole section. That would ease things.
  11. I was just reading the online manual when I found something apparently odd about the Warrior: in the description it says that its capacity is 7 soldiers. This means that an entire section of 8 soldiers cannot be carried on a single vehicle? It seems to me that this could complicate troop loading a bit. Unless I have missed something...
  12. Thanks a lot, this change is really welcomed! Actually I saw the videos just a few hours after they had been posted. Indeed they grow the impatience of putting my hands on the Brit module! I posted on an italian forum (Netwargamingitalia) the announcement of the videos but not on BFC forum thinking that somebody else would have done it soon... Maybe everybody did the same as me...
  13. Thanking BFC so much for the new animation, which has the not secondary task of enhancing the immersion of the game, I would like to suggest another change on the animation side: the posture of crew on vehicles. Those stuffed figures don't add so much to the immersion and a more "lively" stance would be welcomed.
  14. Just checked the new screens. The new animation for wall jumping is amazing! Thanks BFC, nice job!
  15. Yes you're right: syrians were elite and my men were regular. This must have played a role as well.
  16. yes, I get your points and I agree. But given the vulnerability of balconies and rooftops, there is virtually no advantage in gaining height with buildings to control the surrounding terrain. Does this actually reflect real life? It seems so about balconies, but what about rooftops?
  17. Actually, besides having the same problems as A co with balconies, I have them also with rooftops. In one of the last scenario I played, I had a team (Army) on a 2 story building rooftop with walls completely annihilated by Syrian special forces in open ground. It was quite frustrating because I thought that rooftops (and what's more walls on rooftops!) could afford some protection and advantage. Instead, they fell like flies one after the other, without causing much damage to the special forces squad.
  18. Thank you Gordon for all your precious work.I wish you all the best
  19. OK, thanks. If I can't get rid of the bagle, I'll do as suggested.
  20. I got a bagle virus on the PC where I have one of my CMSF licenses installed and this prevents me from connecting to the Internet. I wanted to unlicense CMSF for security reasons in the event that I have to format the hard disk if I can't remove the virus, but apparently the unlicensing procedure needs an internet connection. Is there a way to unlicense offline? Thanks
  21. I may be wrong (and I hope so ) but usually BFC releases follow pre-order openings at least a month later. And at present, no pre-order has been announced... So I think Brit module won't be out before the beginning of June.
