  1. yes, definitely they must be hard-coded, otherwise the competition would have no meaning.
  2. Just a curiosity while I am waiting for D-Day (Download Day): soldiers names are hard-coded or there is some way to edit them?
  3. Pre-order placed! -27 days to download...
  4. It seems Syria is really worth a (tourist) visit!
  5. Thanks Peter for sharing this info. Very interesting. For what I can see, the Jabal ad Duruz is not so low as I thought: 1800 m asl. The photo with the snow is quite odd to be seen in a Middle East region (though I heard about snow in Israel sometimes). Are we going to see winter camo for uniforms and vehicles in CM:SF??
  6. OK, not so big in terms of altitude... let's say wide
  7. yes, it is a very big volcanic apparatus, with huge basaltic lava flows. but, actually, previously I was looking at the most southern green patch.
  8. Actually, it seems to me like a large agricultural area, since you can see the land parcels. Naturally vegetated zones are present, too. The interesting thing is that it seems also a volcanic area, with small cones.
  9. It seems there will be a delay in the announcement of the release and pre-order date due to an unexpected bug - take a look at the blog
  10. Looks like we almost have a release date... http://www.battlefront-newsletter.com/Blogfront/tabid/55/EntryID/72/Default.aspx
  11. The Animals: "We've Got to Get Out of This Place"
  12. Yes, Elmar, probably I was too overconfident about my memories... Anyway, this doesn't mean that Italian army has less importance to make it into the game. The problem, for what Steve says, is the effort to model it. Well, to tell the truth, you have also exciting girls! (Especially in Utrecht)
  13. I'd like Italians would make it in, too. In effect, they have deployed with several men and equipment in all recent theatres: Somalia, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Iraq and Lebanon. I don't recall Dutch being deployed in so many places...
  14. Sorry Dogface... just for a minute!
  15. Do you mean these?: http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=52;t=001200
  16. Just for curiosity and forgive my ignorance: the soldier on the background seems to have a 101 airborne division screaming eagle patch on his arm. Are soldiers allowed to stick patches of other divisions?
  17. In one of the threads of this forum, I read that if the squad commander dies, the possibility to select the squad as a whole with a single click is no more available, and only each soldier is selectable. I don't know how difficult could be in terms of programming, but it should be desirable to have leadership transfer to the lower grade soldiers when the officer dies, i.e. from the liutenant to the sergeant to the corporal... Obviously, each single soldier should have an attribute referring to his grade.
  18. Merry Christmas to everybody from me, too!
  19. Steve, those are good news! A question: if with "elevation" lines, as Mr Dorosh correctly says, you mean contour lines ( ), this means that we will be able to draw sort of topographic maps in the editor and CM will convert to digital terrain models? Will it be possible to import contour lines from existing topo maps, too? thanks
  20. Thank you, the videos are really awesome! I would like to see the list of enhancements BF has introduced in the game, too. Maybe is it possible to have a video with some of these enhancement shown?
