  1. I don't think the VAAR contest and the release of the Marines module will be linked except for the fact that the module won't be released probably after the end of the contest. I suppose July - early August will be a possible date for the release of the Marines module.
  2. Well that's really amazing! I am not a ballistic expert, so I couldn't say if that's possible or it is a bug... Anyway, I haven't seen anything like that so far in scenarios I've played.
  3. Dear all, I am looking for a well balanced scenario to play PBEM. Any suggestions? Thanks
  4. concerning the acquire command: after a squad/team has acquired a Javelin from a Stryker, is there a way to shelve it again in the vehicle?
  5. OK, great news! I will probably buy the Marines module as soon as it comes out, but in the meanwhile, I would like to know more about the Marines Corps, how and why is it different from the Army, not only in terms of organization/equipment, but also from the point of view of doctrine, tacics, etc. Are there readings covering these subjects that can be retrieved online or at Amazon? Will Battlefront.com publish a more detailed article on which will be the added value contained in this forthcoming module? Thanks in advance
  6. Thanks everybody! It was the Left click option. Now it works fine, although the cursor seems a little bit less precise.
  7. Waiting for the Mac OSx version of CMSF, I installed the game (updating to 1.07) on my iMAC (Intel Core 2 duo 2,4 ghz, 2gb ram, 320 gb hard disk, ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO), where I have a bootcamp partition with Windows Xp professional sp2. The problem arises when, after loading a scenario, I select any unit: the game CDT. On the other hand, navigating into the map and zooming in and out doesn't create any problem. I searched for this topic into the forum without finding precise information. Suggestions and support would be very appreciated Thanks
  8. I second that. Maybe could be an additional button in the combat commands
  9. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Italy, too!
  10. Totally agree, too. I remember those times! I would add to Mr.Dorosh considerations that the need and claim of immediate results or feedback that is "en vogue" nowadays (typical is the request at work: "I want it for yesterday") is unfortunately a general bad habit born from the global connection (internet, mobile phones, etc.). Probably, in the SL/ASL times people focused themselves more on the game than on sharing comments, impressions and experiences, because the means for sharing were not like today. Now, is the trend reversed? Anyway, I am not so much concerned about BF.C silences. I consider them a good sign, instead: it means people is hard at work. In the meantime, I still enjoy CM:SF even if it is not perfect. My 0,02 euros.
  11. That's true, I didn't consider the fact that the red base under each soldier means "seriously wounded"
  12. As it is written in the manual, the unit report of an HQ shows the status of C2 of subordinate units attached to the HQ. Should any contact (visual, audio or satellite) cease when a subordinate unit is eliminated? I'm asking this because in the scenario I am playing, I have a squad which has been totally annihlated, but it stays in the unit report of its platoon HQ with a thick green cross. Thanks
  13. Great improvement! Thanks BF.C. I just tested "Allah's Fist" for graphic performance and I have around 25-30 fps with a P4 3ghz 2gb RAM, ATI x1950pro 512 Mb Vram. Runs really smooth.
  14. Nice idea! It would be very useful to track what's happening in the battlefield. Sometimes, in Real Time, when I am following the action in a given sector, I can hear explosions and people screaming somewhere else, but it is not easy to immediatly find where these events take place. Probably these kind of communications could be in the form of some radio call?
  15. I have tried to follow all the debate about graphic cards, the issues related to each model, but I am still a little bit confused. Since I am going to upgrade my Geforce 5200 (definitely a little bit old), I would like to ask if there is still a preference towards Geforce cards in respect to ATI, or, at present, both of them perform the same (apart from known bugs of specific models). Thanks
  16. Maybe a little bit off topic, but not so much: has anybody seen the tv series "Over there" about Iraq war? Here in Italy it was not broadcasted by any TV, so I had news about the series only from a friend in Holland who saw the DVD in a store. Is it something like "Band of Brothers" 60 years later? Is it accurate and faithful? Thanks in advance
  17. Package arrived yesterday here in Florence, Italy! Directly from USA.
  18. Sorry if it has been already asked, but in these day's huge activity of the forum I couldn't find it: when the physical copy of CMSF will start shipping for those who pre-ordered the game? Thanks
  19. Yes, definitely a good idea! I'm leaving now for the seaside. CMSF will have to wait till monday morning...
  20. Thank you Martin, I hope that "Sometime today" will be sooner than later (here in Italy we are already in the afternoon!)
  21. I can't see any new video in the CM:SF video gallery page... Now I can see them! It was only a matter of refreshing the page
