I prefer the snowy mods myself. Thanks Mikey. -
Russian Training Scenarios
junk2drive replied to JasonC's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
SteveP and SteveO These are supposed to be training simulations, not scenarios. IMO Jason may have given the student some advantages in his design. SteveP the MG and StuG may be facing the wrong way to buy some time for the student, not because Jason doesn't know how to make a battle. -
Russian Training Scenarios
junk2drive replied to JasonC's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
I was able to get a 50/50 on 110. Left squad to the left house, 2nd squad between that and the trees, 3rd and CO to the trees, right squad to the house on the right close to the trench. I then area fired all at the trench. About half way to 20 the game auto ceasefired with the MG panicked in the trench. Had I known or seen the MG in trouble I would have advanced the right squad to the flag. -
magomar, thanks for checking. We are into battle 2. dedgame, I left some comments at TPG.

Czech, Slovak and Polish TOEs?
junk2drive replied to Count D'Ten's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
As soon as the Axis History Forum is back on line I recommend you search the posts for your info. I know there is a lot there. Photos too. Here is a link to spwaw.com's the Depot, Military History forum. Look at the ones by David Lehmann. He has put together tons of info on pre-WWII and WWII French military. He posts at AHF also. -
At TPG, in the design tips section, link I have listed the bmps and when they appear.

Russian Training Scenarios

ekrommen, thanks for the link, that is the page I was looking for. 100 I went to level one and used move commands along the rise in terrain. As the house windows came into view I used hunt. When the PZ appeared I allowed my tank to remain stationary and it continued to exchange fire with the reversing PZ until the PZ bit the dust. -
I would rather that modders release their works as they are finished than to wait for a big package. It's nicer for the people who have dial up. It's easier on the server at cmmods.

Those of us that know how much work goes into a mod don't mind a few minutes of downloading and don't care how many people download them.

Received and reviewed, thanks for them. I notice in the doc "stick to default" but what is the prefered FOW? I usually use extreme. -
Russian Training Scenarios
junk2drive replied to JasonC's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Once upon a time there was a website with step by step and screenshots of how to advance for CMBB. I can't seem to find it anymore. Maybe Zimorodok's site has room. Gyrene has a site with a forum. -

I just tried www.bootsandtracks.com and got right on in. -
Shift + n increases and turns off terrain elements. See the hotkeys menu. You may have turned the headstones off.

Gun damage, only main gun?
junk2drive replied to Kalzun's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Posted by Luftwolf at the webob forums: Re: MG fire from gun-damaged tanks? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A tank with it's gun damaged, won't fire the coaxial, but will still fire the bow. A tank with a crew casualty won't fire it's bow. A tank with gun damage and a crew casualty will just sit there looking ugly. At least, that's what I seem to remember from our discussion a while back. -
Winning the firefight the French way (winter '39-'40)
junk2drive replied to jtcm's topic in Combat Mission - Tips and Tricks
Hans made quite a few May 1940 battles and ops including some what ifs. I have two battles at TPG, one is a "what if" for Sept 1939 and the other is in Stonne. Every mod you need is at cmmods and Andreas' site for 1939-1940 and Sealion. QBs can't be done properly and you have to substitute Brit armour for the French. -
Thanks for all you gave to us.

Check your Fog of War setting (FOW), extreme really changes the intel. I had a game where a SP Gun? looked like a Marder, then a Wespe. When I moved in for the kill with my M10 I found a StuG III and lost.

Bmp question--did I dodge a bullet?
junk2drive replied to tooz's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
There are no bmps between 4520-4560 in CMBB 1.03 -
Syrian recoilless at-guns/rifles
junk2drive replied to undead reindeer cavalry's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Nope! Dooh! I finished it with a loss of 37 men, some of them Iraqi NG. I lost one Stryker, the Command unit. Moving west with the troops in the lead, I pounded those guys in the far west building with several Strykers MG fire and heavy sniper fire. Next turn I thought they must be suppressed and moved my CO Stryker. Boom. After that I just moved around the Kiowa and patiently fought it out until I could move the truck in and out. My big fear was the mortar fire hitting the truck or downed Kiowa. -
Mazeo, I left some comments at TPG for the CMAK version.

Search for Pyewacket's Map Converter Tool. PC only. It only converts the map, not the units. The CMAK engine contains arcs etc so yes a converted scenario is improved but sometimes much harder to win. I have done a few conversions but they take a lot of time. You have to write down all the details of the original, then purchase and setup those units on the new map.
