  1. The reference is made 2 or 3 times. I didn't think about the Roman numerals possibly being confused. That makes sense.
  2. Sergei, what's going on with your signature?
  3. I just finished this book which I'm guessing most of you already have read. I see what people were saying about how dry the text is. At times, it was like reading a technical manual on routine mechanical maintenance, but it was highly informative and engaging for the most part. Not that I'm looking to pick apart this work, but I noticed something: Rudolf von Ribbentrop is mentioned as a Tiger company commander in the 1st SS Panzer Regiment. I thought he was a Pz IV company commander, which I have read elsewhere. Also, The "Tank Warning" operation(great stuff, by the way) includes him as a Pz IV platoon leader. Did Glantz and House just miss this detail in the fairly wide scope of this book?
  4. Welcome, Damion. Just so you'll know, you were supposed to give your topic the title "Hi. I'm Damion and I'm a CM-oholic" Then we could all reply, "Hi, Damion!" Don't you pay attention at the meetings? Heh. Just kidding!
  5. Pottymouth! As a parent, some horrible memories have been conjurred by these remarks. *shudder*
  6. Are you arguing semantics or something? Are we not allowed to use the term "campaign" when referring to fighting at Stalingrad and other pivotal battles? I would like to see a scenario based on Operation: Rumyantsev, or the Soviet Belgorod-Kharkov operation.
  7. *Sigh* All I did was post a link to a page for a game that I thought might interest people who play games set in the Eastern front of the Second World War, and that had a trailer available for download. With just a few mouse clicks(3 as a matter of fact, starting with the "forums" tab at the top of the linked page) you can navigate to the game's forum where it is discussed and explained at length. I don't see why a person "can't be bothered" to click a mouse a few times. Also, at no point did I declare that this game offered great strategic depth and/or incredible historical realism, and I don't care what other CM players think of it. It's not my game; I'm not trying to sell it to any of you. Just click the link or don't. It's really that simple. Thanks for making a mountain out of a mole hill. This whole topic could have been ignored and I wouldn't have given a damn. In fact, I would prefer that over someone taking it upon himself to make some arbitrary comments after barely glancing at the material.
  8. JasonC, you have a real and serious attitude problem. It would probably get you beaten to death in some circles. I really don't understand your overt hostility. You seem to go out of your way to be rude and dismissive. What did I or anyone do to you for you to feel obliged to behave in this manner? That was a rhetorical question, by the way. Don't take it as an opportunity to compose an epic, mind-numbing response. You're a very sad case, indeed. So, do us both a favor and ignore any more topics that I post here. I recommend that you seek professional counseling...soon.
  9. Blasphemy though it may be, I thought I'd post a link to this game. There's a trailer available for download, too. I'm impressed so far.
  10. Before this thread gets locked, I should like to comment on Hitler's mental state. My wife gave me Jim Dawson's "Who Cut the Cheese?" for my birthday. I would call it a fairly comprehensive history of flatulence. In his book, it is mentioned that Hitler "suffered from meteorism, or uncontrollable farting, a condition aggravated by his vegetarianism." Until 1934, he had taken "Neo-balestol, a medical repackaging of WWI gun-cleaning oil" to combat his condition. Unfortunately, it contained the poison known as fusel oil and Hitler ordered it off the market after suffering acute poisoning. In 1936, he met the quack physician Dr. Theodor Morell, who prescribed anti-flatulence pills which contained atropine and strychnine, both powerful chemicals, causing euphoria, delirium, violent fits, extreme sensitivity to stimuli and many other symptoms. Google them if you want. The accounts of many senior military and civil officials who had to deal with Hitler regularly would seem to support the possibility of his dementia being chemically(or pharmaceutically)-induced. Now, before anyone gets started, I'm not saying that Hitler would have been a nice, old fellow if it weren't for those pills, or that only Dr. Morell is to blame for the colossal tragedy that was the Second World War, but it does seem to make a bit of sense of Hitler's behavior. 11. Oh, I'm sorry, people. I wasn't posting the photo link as a quiz for everyone. I really did think that it was funny that Guderian was casually labelled a "German general".
  12. Moon and Hunter are probably just tired of saying, "It will be ready when it's ready." I'll be back tomorrow!
  13. I like the title for this photo. A bit of an understatement.
  14. Alright. I thought that there wasn't much of a difference. Again, thanks.
  15. Guys, can you tell me about some or all of the differences between these two vehicles? Thanks, in advance.
  16. Although you weren't addressing me, I'll say thanks for answering that question, too. I had been wondering if it was that simple.
  17. Mer Crimmuh, as people say in my hometown. Nice mods, man.
  18. I'm reading this book by Colby Buzzell right now and am greatly enjoying it. He was an American infantryman serving in a Stryker unit. I can relate to a lot of the author's experiences. A lot of quotes and comments around here make more sense now, too. For example, I guess that JasonC is a Dead Kennedys fan. Anyway, if no one else has mentioned it here, I recommend it to all. It's got me much more excited about CMSF's release than I previously was.
  19. In case it hasn't been mentioned, I really hate it when enemy reinforcements appear in an area of the map(not at the map edge) that I have just cleared. If the edge area where the enemy reinforcements appear is basically open ground(brush, steppe, etc.), it's only slightly less annoying. I mean, if that wasn't the map edge, I'd be able to see those guys, right?
