  1. Hey, George! I played as the Germans against the AI, per your advice. It was a tough fight, too. Great work!
  2. Wow, George. This should be a big help for me. I'm playing "Death of the Dnieper: Solowjewka" right now and it's been a tough fight. As soon as I'm finished with it, I'll try this one. Thanks for all your work!
  3. I was just wondering why the Hetzer doesn't have a muzzle brake. There were other German AFVs with main guns of the same caliber at the same time that did. Was it late war material shortages, or just some exception made for the Czech chassis?
  4. "When it's ready" seems to be the answer.
  5. Gasoline, indeed! JasonC, it is so very easy to observe and make judgements from your comfortable home after lengthy reading on Second World War history some 60 years later. You deal in absolutes, with which I utterly disagree, and, ironically, would call a fanatic's method. With a little patience, you could steer the confused and ill-informed in the right direction. Instead, you hurl your insults and alienate from the beginning. This forum has seen a few neo-nazis on their merry way. Maybe, it needs to bid farewell to its self-appointed High Inquisitor.
  6. Sure. I'll look for John Delany. Tim, I'll tell him to send you your turns. Maybe I'll see him when I start work on the 20th! Yay! I just got the call.
  7. Here is the last thread that I can recall in which JasonC decided to "share his views". The first couple of replies are made by senior forum members without a trace of offense(although, Sergei changed tack quickly). Then, the fun begins...
  8. Yep, I worked full-time as a volunteer about a year or so ago. Was having a career break from work so worked there for a few months. Say hi to John Delany, he is the collections guy and also Alicia Gurney. They didn't have the STUG III when I was there though. Managed to get the keys and get into lots of the vehicles in the Landwarfare Hall (Hetzer, T-55, SU100 etc)_ Ask John for the keys. I installed the Gun sight Optics in the Hetzer (when you get into it you will see that I put a chain and padlock around it!)I only worked that hall and wrote some captions. Enjoy yourself they are a great bunch! </font>
  9. I've said it before and I'll say it again: JasonC, stick to game advice. Any other comments by you are nothing short of inflammatory. I swear, it's as if you're preparing for an interview for a position at the Simon Wiesenthal Center.
  10. From past threads, I sense this is a sore spot for him.
  11. Ah, okay. Well, maybe we could meet at the next one or something. Hmmm? I have yet to meet another CM player.
  12. Well, which is it? 122 or 152? Ant is right. The land warfare hall is great, but it was even cooler getting to see and touch the vehicles in the shop and park. Ant, are you a volunteer?
  13. Ah, crud. I forgot to ask anyone there if they played CM. Maybe I can "convert" a few.
  14. I visited the IWM Duxford today and thought I'd post a photo of this sweet baby. I asked the conservation shop team leader if it was an ISU-122 and he said yes. So, don't flame me if it doesn't look like one to you. Apparently, this vehicle is in the queue to be brought back into running order.
  15. Alrighty! I'm back from the Welcome Day event and have some photos. They're mostly of the Land Warfare Hall, but some are from the workshop. Would anyone care to see them? I suppose I could just go ahead and post them.
  16. Also, your troops return fire without being ordered if they are fired on, and if the enemy is within range.
  17. Cool, Ant! I'll take my digital camera and post some photos from the Welcome Day. If they accept me as a volunteer and will allow it, I'll post photos here of whatever work we do, too.
  18. Mord, I think I should tell you that the outdoor display is in a sad, sad state, or it was when I went there about 2 years ago. The vehicles are just left there to rust. I guess DoD funds are going "elsewhere". However, the indoor display is great with mostly small arms. I recall one of the airborne(?) 75mm recoilless cannons and one of those tracked, remote-controlled bombs for clearing obstacles. I would recommend visiting the place to anyone.
  19. Strategic? Nah. Tactical? *yawn* How about proto-simian? I'm holding out for CMM: LA, Combat Mission Madagascar: Lemur Assault!
  20. My previous comments were meant in good fun, by the way. I apologize for any offense, Mord. Pax vobiscum.
