  1. Not only is the game excellent, it seems like they have streamlined the code compared to CM:SF and CM:A as things seem faster in many area's I know what I will be doing the next 100 years
  2. Thanks John Johnston for your feedback... I am glad you enjoyed it
  3. Hi All, I have just completed a scenario named NATO No One Wins which is a fictional battle between Libyan Army Forces and Libyan Rebels with NATO Air Support in and around the town of Zillah... You will need the NATO Module to play... Currently it is setup for H2H or for Red Side (Which is the attacking Libyan Army) vs AI... I am working out the detail for play as Blue Side (Rebel forces) vs AI which I will upload in the near future... Any feedback is welcome and always appreciated You can find the file below at my CM site...
  4. I agree with this, the CMx2 engine provides us with better flexability to withdraw from a fight without losing the whole unit. Thus you can attack or defend somewhere else. It is especially nice with defend, withdraw X meters, defend, etc.. (which should be awesome in CM:BN)... In CMx1 you couldn't do such things and designers tended to have shortened the duration of scenarios, which forced unrealistic carnage and fighting. Designers using the CMx2 engine should ensure there is enough (even more than enough) time to perform the objective at hand. Don't forget that thresholds for casualties, etc could be the main victory points within a scenario... Just some thoughts... This battle Opium Den should probably get 15 minutes added on to the initial time with a variable of another 15 minutes for extension... IMHO... The desgner has done a really good job with this sceanrio and I am looking forward to the final release
  5. Hey toxic.zen I sent you an email with a link to the final turn (it went over 12 minutes) and based upon your previous post I am looking forward to the final version
  6. I can remember times in CMAK where my M5 didn't fire a 'canister' round when I thought it was appropriate and also I was screaming one day at an M4A3 to fire a 'tungsten' round but nope, got the regular AP round.... but the TacAI does do a good job....
  7. When playing no, but when playing in the editor and almost all other times yes... I listen to live365 era specific music, along with Todd Wright, Excentrics, The Who, Rolling Stones, and any Southern Rock/Blues/Country... Also have some sorta sports on TV in background, but with very low volume... and when my better half is around I listen to b$#$@!h, b#$@$h, b#@%@h, Thats cool, back in the early 90's I managed some bands and ran sound for them, also have writen some and play keyboards and a bit of guitar...
  8. Wow, I am glad that is straightened out... For a minute I thought I was a moron for not knowing anything anyone posted in this thread... Now to go check on my Arisaka Type 44 carbine 6.5mm/h4 that my old man took off a dead one in Guam circa 1944 And thanx to Magpie Oz for that great link and also to Marco Bergman for showing that great mod...
  9. Thanks for the input Glukx Ouglouk and ht-57 Much appreciated
  10. On the SATA3 I beg to difer with you... Read the following as published by the SATA association... SATA 3.0... I can attest to the difference in speed as I was at my former employers plant visiting old staff and we went through the differences on machines in the test lab... I chose the Segate Drives cause they are SATA3 registered and in a mirrored mode both will get 6GB's of transfer rate... and your right if your drives aren't SATA3 then you won't get the 6GB transfer rate on the bus structure.,, The graphics is two fold at 2560x1600 (which I use) if you want the screen to have all the detail say at a level 4 height in CM:SF (meaning windows, trees, underbrush, etc) the increased memory will help with that... if you want the screen drawing at say a Level 1 locked on to a BMP to keep up with the movement so that there is no visable drawing with the movement then the higher processor would come into play... I believe for my application the 560 processor was fast enough so I went with addtional memory... but you are correct in that function... At this point all I know is that CM:A and CM:SF have absolutely no issues on my machine at 2560x1600 even with big scenarios...
  11. Go back to playing 'Xotic' on your Xbox360 you hirnloses kind
  12. I had an old Dell that I replaced also (P4 3.0 with 2gb ram and a Geforce 5200). I did some research and talked to a couple of young guys that use to work for me about my needs. I had always used Dell at home and at work, but Dell wouldn't provide a nVidia card in their high end 9100 machines. So I did some research and found where I could get a custom built machine with a full 3 year replacement warrenty and lifetime 24/7 tech support. I also got a custom Apeiva Case with the unit with a temp readout and the machine runs a cool 30.5C when cranking a Photoshop file or running a Visual Studio application. Apparently the SATA3 bus structure on the Motherboard and Hard Drives makes for almost double the read/write speed on the mirrored drives. I got the 16GB of Ram cause I do a lot of Photoshop work and this helps with the larger files. I would also suggest the nVidia graphics card, I got the GTX 560 duel head with 2GB of ram (which is an upgrade). I was told that the added ram would help improve performance on rendering and enhancing the textures, etc. plus this card still cost me less then a 580 with 1GB of Ram. In loading up the awesome RAMADI battle and it was almost instantaneous. I really think with all of the CM products the video card is the most important aspect of the machine... Some people like the Radeon and some like nVidia, plus the BFC tech support person said he was running a high end nVidia card So far I am really happy with my machine and I spent hundreds less then buying a Dell with similiar features. Hope this helps...
  13. I just put together a new rig not only for gaming but for some web development work, but I have to admit CM:SF and CM:A scream on it with all the highest details and shadows, plus it runs CMAK, and CMBB without any graphic (text) issues... plus it kicks ars with Adobe CS5 suite... Phenon II 955 Quad (3.2) MSI 870A-GS4 Motherboard with SATA3 16GB PC12800/1600MHz memory Geforce GTX 560 Duel Head upgraded 2GB ram (2) 2TB Seagate 6GB 7200 SATA3 64mb (Raid 0) w UHD Cooler - Fanless with Heatpipes Sound Blaster X-FI Extreme PCI LG Blue Ray / Lightscribe DVD Burner SATA Combo THERMALTAKE 800W TR2 Duel Case FAns 120MMx2
  14. OK toxic.zen I am winding down my 4th attempt to take that friggin HQ, so far this is by far my best attck... I will send you some game files via email when I am done so you can see this last battle... I am really enjoying the battle as I have used almost all of the map, which is very well done btw. I have blown holes in walls, had infantry charges, attacked from 3 directions, and I still can't get within 150 yards of the HQ without taking a complete beating... I know what I am missing 'ARTY'!!!!!!!!!!!! Stay tuned as I lose somemore pixeltruppen in the heat of battle.
  15. Of course we know its a soldier looking at 'French Milk Jugs'...
  16. I believe ROF and accuracy is based upon the Battery firing and its ratings in 'Experience, Motivation, Fitness, Leadership, Supply and Equipment' found in the OOB table when the unit is selected via a QB or purchased by a scenario designer. Accuracy might also depend on the FO's above mentioned ratings...
  17. Thanks for the update Steve, now for the next week or so I can get a lot of my 'honeydo' list done so I can lock myself in my office for about 2 weeks and not hear 'This isn't done, that isn't done'... Wishing BFC the best of success on this project for years to come...
  18. SPI offices were on 23rd near Park Ave on the 5th Floor IIRC.... I remember Redmon also... do you remember 'Playtest Saturdays'. They had them once every 4-6 weeks. A lot of strange characters back then (I guess I fit that image now ) I use to be the tall skinny kid with long hair and the baseball hat... Hell I hung out there when I was 14-17 yrs old... Sorry I don't remember GrailQuest, unless it is a DOS game from like 1989 or 90 or so... and if it is, then some guys at my workplace in Northern VA at the time use to play it early in the morning.. The first time I played CMBO, all I could think was "Where was this in 1975"... At 53 I figure I will be 55 when I finally come up for air after getting CM:BN... bring it on...
  19. I am 53 and have been playing war games since S&T came out in 1971.... Actually use to hang out at SPI in NYC in 1973-74... Played Combat Command S&T #30 against the infamous James F. Dunnigan back in 74... "Mr Jim" beat da pants off me...
  20. Hi toxic.zen... I am still playing your scenario... but give me a few days, as I got a new rig that showed up yesterday, and I am in the process of migrating... Also I will lokk at the Ammo-loadouts also to see whats up wit dat...
  21. I agree, unless they didn't like modern warfare... I am not fond of modern warfare, but still really enjoy the game... I like CM:A even better. I really look forward to building scenario's in CM:BN... After it comes out how but a game HintJ... only thing is I am an old dude and have to play WEGO.... let me know
  22. No, never really imported much, I did like imported beer and single malt scotch before I stopped drinkin. Got a couple of imported assault rifles for hunting. I like Montecristo's and Arturo Fuentes from the Dominican, prefer Maduro Wrappers and 48 ring size (I guess they are imported). Looking for a Pinzgauer to restore (Don't think they are made in the USA). Also been playing war games for 41 years (some imported), but a broker.... I dont think so...I have been retired 2 years... why you ask anyway??? IMHO PC:K 'Sucks'... There I said it softly that time... We will see if PC:O is any good, at least I get the upgrade for free, considering I wasted my money on PC:K... but after playing CM:SF and CM:A I can still answer the OP's question.... CM:BN!!!!
  23. When you design a scenario, you must want to do it (otherwise why do it), put in the effort (no effort is real obvious), dont cut corners, and the key to me is Make it the Way YOU like it... If others like it great, and if not so be it... Like MikeyD said "Lets try to differentiate "bad" from "I didn't like". "
