New Scenario - Need Playtesters
Fredrock1957 replied to Fredrock1957's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
Hey Ranger33 and lookeylou, Thanks for responding, me being an old time WEGO designer, It will be interesting to see what you RT types think of this here battle Again Thank you!!!! -
Hi All, I have recreated another one of the Sie Kommen Battles. This one is named Bloody St. Omer Capelle and its about a Task Force from the 29th Infantry Division 175th Regiment, sent to take crossroads and an Observation Point in the town of St. Omer Capelle. Units from the German 347th Infantry Division are garrisoned in the area and are tasked with defending the town. Send me an email HERE if you are interested in testing. The battle can be played H2H or Allies vs AI... I am still working on the Allied AI and some additional Axis AI's, trying to get a feel for unit quantity, map LOS/LOF, other things that you feel would make it better... Here are some screenies of this quaint little town

In testing a scenario I am working on in author-test mode, I have a German FO on floor 6 of the 8 story cathedrel. I was getting more Arty than I anticipated raining down on my men. When I clicked on the FO he was coordinating 5 Fire Missions (4) 81mm On-Map Mortars, and one 120mm off map... Now that is pretty cool.... 3 were area fire, 1 was point, and 1 was linear...

You can send them to the middle of an open field and have them meet Uncle Arty -
A covered arc issue
Fredrock1957 replied to GreenAsJade's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I had a tube team sitting behind a hedge in long grass, I gave them a cover arc of about 45deg on the other side of the hedge and put a hide command on them.... A PzIV came within 80 meters BEHND them (only tall grass in between) and they did not fire on the PzIV as it rolled by. So were they not threatened (I guess), but that is different then what the OP questioned, I think it is good to question such behavour early on in the games lifeline. I do believe after palying about 15 PBEM's and 15 vs AI scenarios that there is enough 'what if' or 'wtf' built into the AI that at times one can feel slighted and other times glad their mini-minded pixeltruppen decided to do what they did... IMHO -

Don't think this can be done as each tree is individually modeled... -
After recreating some of the Sie Kommen battles (6-8 I think), I should be really use to the Editor by then, I was thinking of doing something along the lines of the 'Breakout' with maybe 12 -18 small battles with areas like Poterie Ridge, Martinville Ridge, Pont -de-lo-Rogue, Brehat, Cerences, Lenronne, St. Denis le Gast, Hambye, etc... lol... I have done a lot more background work then I thought over the past 8 months... Well anyway you get the idea...

Great Stuff Mord, I appreciate all your effort. -
A toast to all allied forces that participated, may the fallen rest in peace. It really is a shame that many younger people have no clue about June 6th or for that matter even WWII. I asked my step-daughter (she will be a senor this upcoming year) about what she learned about WWII in her History Class. Her quote was; "It was in the 1940's and a lot of people died" I asked if she learned anything else about it... nahh.... Think I will make her watch 10 episodes of Band of Brothers today with the surround sound cranked up...

Hi Guys, Just put up a new scenario for playtesting at my site below. The name is Squash the Doodlebug, which is a fictional account of units from 502PIR attacking a V1 Launch Site near the town of Lederzeele about 5km SE of Pas D' Calais. This is a recreation of a scenario I did forthe Sie Kommen Battle PAck for CMAK, but it never made it in.... Some Screenies below Please Email Feedback good, bad or ugly to Fredrocker
