  1. Well, after a 9 hour game today then having to leave quickly as a family member desided to play too rough and go to the clinic; I'm back for another game of SC this holiday weekend. Germany desides it needs more farmland in the east and makes the Poles a offer they cant refuse. Two tank groups park outside of Warsaw on the Early Sept.
  2. Nice info, would have helped alot in my first TPC game. Tried to sign up but was denied!
  3. I think the 125% readness your seeing is from the 'set' battle bonus of 25% if your in contact with the unit you attack at the start of the round.
  4. If Sealion is that much of a mistake SC2 has some serious balance issue's.
  5. Now I'm playing against Terif, who is the only player that scares Sombra. Scares everyone but Rambo
  6. Nice posts, some good information. I see one feature that made me quit SC... no one is willing to finish a game (sadly I was this way as well at times... many against Terif). If there are 3 phase's to SC... start (german advantage)... middle (turn the tide?)... and end game (can you hold out for the draw 1946); Once the start phase is over most players conceade, I understand it might not be 'fun' to continue for one person but why should I play if (as say Allies) as soon as someone feels they cant win they quit? The mirror system helps avoid this to some degree but I'd like to see some end game plays as well.
  7. We had this same bug in SC1. If you retook Paris (say in 43) then lost it again.. all Free French Troops that you had 'saved' in 40 were lost. I'm not sure, but I think at one time the Axis got plunder from France every time it happened (was patched?) But again thats SC1
  8. Thread is running away from the title. I'd post a few thoughts but I STILL am waiting for my CD to show up (I'll give BF till monday). Nice post Dis, some good insight and yes... this is NOT (nor was S1) a historical simulation but a ETO balanced stratic level game that 'based' on WW2. Back to Rambo's post... perhaps the ability to put all your chits (5) on one Minor is too exteam (much like S1 tech.. all in Jets/LR anyone?). Back it down to something reasonable (2?); in effect this would slow the incress in activation % and force Major powers to 'spread the wealth' opening more styles of play.
  9. I found SC was a tech based game It was, LR and Air were all that mattered in the long run (post 42). Unless people were willing to play 'odd / Rambo' style of play it boiled down to who had the best air force around 42-43 in a evenly matched game. Nothing wrong with this as most war are determined by a few critical turning pts.
  10. "I will have to write'em down and forward them to Hubert. Let's see 1. Good AI 2. Solitaire play is a must. thx, this will surely put sc2 right on track." Posted at the end of a SC1 'event', well where they right?
  11. I will have to write'em down and forward them to Hubert. Let's see 1. Good AI 2. Solitaire play is a must. thx, this will surely put sc2 right on track. Read this then the SC2 forum. Seam that H was not informed of this!

  13. Follow a particular strategy (grab Benelux on Turn 2) Reading this and the AARs shows me that eather Germany is WAY too powerfull at the start (again) or the Pol's are too weak. Its sad that a few of those French Armys are not Polish (they had 1M men armed at the start) and that the french have mear corps in the Mag Line.
  14. "and if a country just reasearched Level 1, they cannot have level 2 quicker than half a year later.... or similar." Now I LOVE this idea. Script in a time delay that once you get a tech advance there is no more checks on it for X turns. I'd say between 3-6 months at least. Others with more game experence could put a better number on this. It will slow down / prevent the case where one side get 1-4 quick advances and the other is haveing bad luck. Tech SHOULD be random, this is a WW2 game but I would hate to be forced in to a set tech range ect.. the fun is in tring new and different ideas and approces... like Rambos heavy Navy for Axis. Rockets were just ALOT by the Red Army as well as Germany. In fact it was thier version of massed heavy guns.
  15. nice AAR, and the comments on weather / timing seam spot on
  16. "It is sometimes tougher to fight my superiors than the French." Heinz Guderian Perhaps thats because the French dont fight that hard?
  17. without a dought the best Merc's ever, but I'm sorry the mounted archers would just drop them in squared piles.
  18. The mongols were the true inventor's of lighting war. Read thier invasion of India for the best example, though the attack on China was very good as well. Before them the concept of 'fast' attack was SLOW! After them all warfare changed.
  19. Ahhh ok I'll give this baby a try. Perhaps the AI is not that bad and I can work in a few PvP games.
