  1. Have not played in some time, waiting for 1.03 I guess and not time. But thought I'd drop this note perhaps before 1.03 is gold. Sorry but I dont thave the time to run test or the desire to check scrpits (others could comment on below) In several games now I have notice that naval units do little damage to transports and amphib (?) units. Some of this is supply and weather but I'm really starting to wounder if its a bug, are the naval units treating the 'shiped ground units' as ground units still? Its gotten to the point I us transports as scouts, even when they get ambushed by a BB they only take 1-2 damage it seams. If its not a bug, and just a combo of Weather, luck ect.... I think we need to make a change. A new naval unit attack value for CN, BB, CV, and Subs when attacking these easy targets. Something huge, between 6-10 attack value on any combat unit the bombards a ground unit at sea. These slow, heavy loaded, tubs would sink nmass to any serious battle with a combat group of naval ships. BBs 8 CN 10 CV 8 Subs 6 Perhaps give transports a defensive value of 1, as a few minor naval units would be with them anyway. Amphib would get a 0, these would need protection from the big boys. On the side this would make a Sealion (with a ready RN and RAF) very risky!

  3. Unlike SC1 (thank god!), they siberians seam to be comming no matter what. You might delay them abit (low chance) by avoiding the triggers but in the end they are comming (or thats what my play testing has shown). Get word from the Master if your interested in what the scripts say.

  5. I have used them in two games (non USSR ones). One when I didnt know thier real use, no effect. The other had some effect, could have been huge but was still learning the game. In the end they dont come into real play because people are not willing to 'push' the game to the end. Eather the allies or the axis normally by 42 feel they are behind and quit. I shamefully did the same in early 44 (?) with Jolly but only after getting tired of my mistakes due to inexperiance..... stupid partisans behind lakes.

Flying by the seat of my pants here, but lets look at the numbers on these two basic units Corps / Army [max tech] Cost 100/200 Ac Pts 3[5]/2[4] Sof Att 2[5]/3[6] Tank At 1[4]/2[5] Sof Def 1[4]/1[4] Tank Def 1[4]/1[4] Air Def 1/1 of all kinds (3) For twice the cost, and this really shows up when you start adding tech. Armys give back only a limited % more combat power, and no extra defence. I kind of knew this after the game with Jolly.. but it really shows up here. Buying Armys is useless unless you MUST - And even then Armor would be a better bet overall if you can afford the tech. Armys are.. 15-20% ONLY better then corps (on attack - defence same) yets cost 100% more. Dont buy them! Patch 1.03 suggestion. Make SA 4 on armys, SD / AD / TD 2 on armys.   9. Your forgetting that the US has a Home Gaurd that pops up if its invaded. No build Q, full tech - HQ included. Yes yes that was my overall plan but I scraped it after my transports sat off of Iceland for close to a year due to continus mud in Eroupe.
  10. Some interesting ideas above but I dont think we need to make it that radical. I'm looking mostly from a histoical bent here, though balance is needed. 1) Adjust the % given to a few of the major powered. France needs to be droped, 2% seams right. They were policially and monitarily a bankrupt system by 38-39. 4% is greater then what the US starts with. And latter in the game what else is the allies going to spend French MMPs on? USA: Only 3% for the richest conutry in the world? USA spent like mad to make everyone love her in the 40s. If we are going to look at Germanys 5% for a base then perhaps these should be the numbers. Ger 5% It 3% (Spain should be a IT Minor if activated) UK 4% (remember its all looking axis early on and everyone loves a winner) USSR 4% (Communits were both loved and hated in the 40%) USA 5% France 2% 2) Keep it as is right now. Chits cancel chits, simple and works well. So 5 UK chits in Spain would block 5 from Germany and 5 from Italy. 3) The % from friendly nations should NOT stack. Each had thier own plans, the US and USSR did not see the world in the same way. UK was trying to protect its empire, the USA wanted it removed, USSR wanted to spread its political system (same as US). Germany was racisit, its main goals were.. insane. Remove all Jews ect ect ect... Italy was not interested in this (no Jews from Italy were sent to death camps) I think the present system is very close to perfect. Early Game: Minor Allyed advantage Post Frace: Axis advantage, but UK can block any one country. Mid Game: Even but most minors are gone (2vs2) Late Game: Allied advantage... but really no one plays it this late so who knows what really happens.

" I disagree with this, I didnt buy any cheap corps as Axis, and a overall limit on what you can build is a must I feel for this game. Your force pool should be set, and you live within it. Now weather the present force pools are right is another matter.

Axis will always have the advange when people have low experence, perhaps even equal experiance due to its ability to 'have the initiave' for much of the game. 99% of the people quit once they feel they are slightly down = allies quit alot when they are not behind that bad. And offen people here are looking at two different views. Is it balanced or is it historical? In trying to make it balanced (and sc 2 is much better then sc 1 ever was) you lose some of the historical aspencts. Take the dreaded 'Turkey' move. Its so bad I was told we have to have a HR on no DOW on Turkey by Axis. Then its been modified abit. Historical? Perhaps, Russia made a bid for Turkey in 45-46... AFTER they had joined the Allies. TBH I feel that Turkey should have a Minor HQ (the leader at the time was the general from Gallipii sp). A navy, and at least one armored unit. But thats nether here or there, Jolly won 2-3 games as Allies through good play. So you can win as allies I think he was trying to say, you just need to understand the scripts... same as the axis. Rambo is the only one I know of that has not beaten him due to pure luck (dead tech advances). Yea I learned alot, Diplo, that Iran has no Garisson unit ect.... Was a good overall game that was really desided in 42 with my loss of control in the Middle east.
  14. Ok, just checked and noticed that thier is a lake (looks like a oversized river really) SE of Leiningrad. HC you need to make that lake more 'round' so it looks more like a good place to fish.   15. I had this same bug in a game with Bio. Red Army armored unit that cant upgrade. Operated it and then I could. No save.
  16. In a resent game with Jolly I had a Red Partsain pop up in late 43 right next to my units. IE inside its ZOC. I didnt think this could happen. If it can why even garision the rear areas. FYI - I personally find partsians too powerfull in SC2. Perhaps the ones in western eroupe are fine (no units). But the ones in Russia are insanly overpowered. The ability to take several (in 42 my entire attack was stalled due to one partisan that wiped out (droped the citys to 0-1 str) vertailly all western citys in Russia. If they droped a few (the closest only?) 1-3 pts would be fine. But one group of untrained farmers wiping out 5-6 city compleately? Thats just too much.
  17. Winter of 42/43 All has been pritty quiet. German unis continue to move around in the deep woods of russia but no combat now since Nov. That could be said of everywhere except the air over eroupe. UK and USA bombers are pounding the citys of France and Germany.
  18. Nov 42 East: German army is DEAP in USSR having taken Moscow and the city SE of it. Red Army is licking its wounds and waiting for winter. Med: USA holds west Algeria, axis east. Its a stalemate for now. Huge naval battles around the Rocks saw 3 Italian BBs and and 2 German CNs go down. The allies lost 3-5 ships as well. Red Army rockets are training on the Iraq citys. West: Air battles over eroupe but the axis air is in USSR so its one side'd Weather has just sucked for me. NO mud turns in Russia at all. Not for 2 years now (41/42), its eather clear or winter.
  19. Augest 42 Med: Algera is a minor battle ground as one axis armour is kicking the UK troops from the Rock that is supporting this minor. Naval battles around the capital have seen 2 Italian and 1 UK BB go down. West: Air battles around Brest. East: Germany army breaks the dead lock around Moscow by killing off 2-3 corps, armys and armored units. Not without some loss's of thier own but the Red Army pulls back to dead in the steeps of Russia. Atlantic: Last raiding sub is sunk my Norway.
  20. Ok here we go again, sorry didnt post anything last time as the action was fast and crazy. Update: June 28 1942 Med: Axis hold amost all or neutral. Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Syira, Malta, Libia, Tunis and Italy is in Axis hands. Only the Rock remains in Allied. Little to no action in the last 6 months except minor grabing by Axis. West/Atlantic: One sub traped in the USSR convoy line. UK air is working over French resources, the german navy has not been seen for some time. All city in western eroupe have a corps on them so no special forces raids it looks like. Balkins: A group of mad russia peseants invade Romaina by the sea and have been working over the country side while they get worked over by the Romaiana Armys (partisan corps landed 1 month ago and at 2 str now) East: Running battles on the plains between Moscow and Krusk. No units in Krusk after June so we expect the axis demons to destroy this city. Raiding corps comming out of Odessia have found para and only a few corps in southern USSR. Sadly they hvae beter equipment then our lads and we take a beating from the encounter. Our secret weapons have now been reviewed. Rockets dug in behind our forts outside of Lenningrad rain hell on the german fools in northern USSR. USA and UK are in meetings and cant be disterbed right now.

  22. Yea I have noticed that high moral as well. Allies need to seach for some easy minors to take down.
  23. Diplo, a nice feature to the game that add's a interesting demension to where your MMPs go. How does it work... not the basic's but.. examples: German 2 chits in Spain Italy 3 Chits. Its thier two 'rolls' to see if there is an event? one 10% one 9%? Or one rolls that combines the two 19%?? If UK has put 2 chits in does it block two of german's chits and 2 of Italys chits.. making it a 0% roll and a -1% roll (UK favor then)? In a recent game with Jolly I had 10 axis chits in Spain from the summer of 40 (France fell). I got one hit early on.. before France fell then nothing till early 43... I DOW spain at that point. So in two full years with 10 Chits vs I assume 5 Chits from UK... Nothing.
  24. What gives supply? Citys? Ports? Forts? Because I swear its all of the above.
