If and when there is a new generation of Combat Mission games, LOS should be able to be checked with a single key. Select any unit and hit or hold a key to either shade the terrain that the unit can see, or maybe shade that which cannot be seen. Not sure which is better. This should already be a thing.
And to flesh it out further, instead of shading, use colors. One color for Mark I eyeball and a different shade/color for what sensors detect beyond sight, if that's even a thing in Combat Mission. In other words, does the game differentiate between crew vision and that which is only seen through optics? And of course in modern titles, this would be useful to show how it is the unit can 'see' a certain part of the map or specific units. Is it sight, optics, thermals, radar, etc?

heh.  I have no problem figuring out who the real fascists are in this war.  Someone points out a unit badge in UA.  Then I see Wagner taking a sledgehammer to people, the butchery in Bucha and so many other places, keeping recruits who don't want to be a stupid human wave being kept in pits, deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure etc etc.

You know what the Chinese say? If you are not at the table it means you are on the menu.

Blood is in the water.  The great beast is weakening.   The west has the sense of this and the predators are closing in.  France is saying it will provide their own version of Storm Shadow to Ukraine.  The UK and the Dutch and Belgium are talking F-16 training.   And that is a foreshadow that F-16 or a similar airframe are on the table.   More and more armaments of all kinds are being promised now or short term.
The russian bear is looking out into the night and see nothing but the hungry eyes of predators awaiting their moment.  Those eyes are Ukrainian eyes and Western eyes.  I wonder if anyone in the Kremlin is aware they are staring into the abyss already and russian dreams are dead, dead, dead...

Fair question, probably nobody knows answer. I find any revolts/protests rather unlikely unless Russia itself implodes (which is not impossible) or Putin doing some massive mistake trying to use own troops to shoot people like they did in Kazakhstan. For now the most logical scenario is some form of provisional government with shadowy Muscovite support, perhaps even with Luka's son groomed as heir.
To be fair Belarus seems bound to be in Russian influence for foreseeable future. That being said, 2020 showed we live in unpredictible reality, and there is clear and visible generetional rift in this society with youngsters preferring Western style of life and freedoms.
Generally one of main problems in longer term for of all those post-Soviet dictatorships in Europe and Asia is that people under 30 are active, know internet perfectly and rarely find attractive this silly Soviet political-cultural millieu. In Russia this can be replaced by nationalism and imperialistic hubris deeply ingrained in political culture, but in sourrounding countries it doesn't work like that.

Well are they still allowed to enter the Olympics?
 

I previously thought the Crimea Bridge is an unlikely target to be hit with Storm Shadow (because of the quantities required to overwhelm the AD). ADM-160 might make that equation different...

A simple answer to that would be the grey area of mutual security guarantees or vetted alliances.
I think the war has shown one has to join" into and be a "part" of an alliance to keep nukes off the table.

A tale of China and drones.
 
I once ordered a drone from China.
It was lacking an on/off switch. In order to power up for flight, you had to connect the battery while avoiding the propellers.
The simplest of things can be overlooked.
 
 
 

1 year of the war is passed. From the start of the invasion and to the huge count of air and missile strikes. One of my friends has been killed by wagner artillery in Bohorodichne village near Bakhumt. My father-in-law has been killed by storming the defensive enemy positions in the Kherson region 1st of October. I gave 3 of my salaries (all what I have)on the first day of the war on the military budget. Thanks to all of you, thanks for your help. Taking carry of our refugees, helping our soldiers to destroy enemy forces with AT weapons, artillery, APS, AFV, and Tanks, peoples who served in foreign legions. Thank you for giving billions of money to support our economy. Special thanks to battlefront for small support for me, when I asked about a discount, they gave me 2 games with all DLCs for free - I didn't expect this. Some of my relatives were in Kherson in occupation, and all high-value electronic and expensive things were looted from them by Russian forces. And now we don't fear rocket strikes (10 times they exploded 700-1000m from my house) we don't fear nuclear threat, we don't fear the second army in the world and you shouldnt. Sorry for we English would that what I want to say for all of you, I can tell you many things about the war but first i will try to improve my language knowlages.

This is why we can't have nice things...
