  1. Evgeni Bessonov was interviewed on this website The Russian Battlefield , and I hope to buy this book in the future ... I'm sure that it is good and interesting stuff, but too new to be reviewed by lot of people. Try it. Paulus
  2. At the top of the page there should be a "Downloads" button. Click on it and look at what appears on your screen. ... Oh My God, I can D/L the demo here ! ... I must admit this was pretty unexpected Then you download by clicking on the demo you want to try. Paulus
  3. Can't wait for it. (sorry for the double post the pics made me hitting the wrond buttons ) Paulus
  4. Amazing work, surely extremely pleasant in the game. Can't w
  5. Well that is an interesting question : 1-Did Michael Dorosh, as he read on the newspapers the fall of Tripoli, quote Churchill ? 2-Or simply did he quote Churchill when Churchill was living the fall of Tripoli ? The first one seems to be the most probable ... but who knows
  6. Sounds like the finest deception tactics coming from some clever mayors Next then, France has some secret projects to decieve any eventual enemy invasion : This is the key to win a war Paulus
  7. The reason why German troops lost too much time in the Ardennes counteroffensive ... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGghhAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRG The briefings took hours to expline how to take the village Maybe the war would have ended differently without that village ... Paulus
  8. LOL I've never seen such a mess on that forum Seriously I can ensure you that there were lots of confusions between "Combat Mission : Afrika Korps", and a Real-Time Strategy based game "Afrika Korps vs Desert Rats". People who are not particularly interested in WW2 games made a lot of confusions with these two games, I saw that about 4 or 5 times with some of my friends  ! I talked them about Combat Mission and they thought I was talking about Desert Rats who is more know due to its larger commercial release. BFC some opponent company is disturbing your productions Who released such a useless RTS ? Paulus PS : Sorry, but WWII RTS sucks ...
  9. It makes me remember a game (CMBO - The Wrong Turn) where I knocked out a concrete 75mm bunker with 3 60mm mortars ... they did light a fire in the area ! The crew was forced to abandon the bunker ... I was astonished, as far as I thought there was no hope Anyway I think the best way to destroy bunkers is to assault them with infantry, or as said before, destroy them with heavy tanks. For example, JS-2 tanks easily destroy concrete bunkers, even against Pak40 75mm guns. (It is less dangerous at long distance though)
  10. I particularly enjoy the maps ... perfect for some Quick Battles ! Paulus
  11. How lucky the french are : We got the same names of folders as the english version
  12. They are all watching soccer or travelling to portugal
  13. Dey : I think von paulus was referring to axis minor captured russian light armour --> No ! I was talking about that because I'm currently playing two battles taking place in december 1941 and january 1942. The soviets still use a lot of T-26 and BT-7 (and even tankettes) By the way I agree with tooz. Paulus Ps : Tooz if you search well I think you can find winterized versions of all hungarians tanks. Proofs : I got them !!!
  14. Do you have some light tanks in idea Dey ? I'm currently playing a winter battle and those T-26, BT-7, and others lights tanks and tankettes ... there are almost no winter schemes for them !!! So I think modding those vehicles would be welcome. Thanks Paulus
  15. Try to chagne the experience of crews. I believe that a veteran or crack crew on german tanks have a very higher Hit percentage than a regular crew would have. This difference seems to me higher for german tanks than russian tanks, effectively due to the improved optics.
  16. It makes me remember the scenario 'Lonely Country' , where **Spoiler** I knocked out the last StuG with a frontal penetration at close range (less than 100m) with tungsten rounds of 76mm ... Well I think thungsten shells are only late war for soviets but this is still interesting to keep that in mind.
  17. Once, I took 32 soviet prisoners in a 2000pts CMBB Att/Def. These guys were all cut off from their HQ, which probably explain why they surrendered. In CMAK scenario "TF Stark" I also captured 25 american soldiers (once again, mostly green troops or crewmen; isolated) It is very useful through the victory points they give. Paulus

  19. Of course there were fights in the sewers of Stalingrad : losses are possible if the troops encounters some enemy fire. The main problem is that sewer movement is very long, so it takes lot of time in a scenario to achieve a successful and useful move.
  20. Modding a SPW 251/1 and a 251/9 for CMBB alte war would be nice, too. Paulus
  21. Anyway I think that my new signature is better ...
