  1. Wow ! He's the greatest ... in virtual worlds Useful in real life ? Don't think so
  2. Hi all ! In France, we are in 2006 since three hours ... maybe it's not yet the time in America Anyway, happy new year to the BFC team, I wish you to realize all the dreams of thousands of wargamers and offer me a game that will change the face of modern warfare simulation ... after all I'm studying for Saint-Cyr  , I've got to receive some training before going there ! Regards, Paulus PS : CMSF got to rock ! (definitely ...)
  3. Anyway we can guess that when spring 2006 or the first-quarter of 2006 are specified in release dates, it is obviously supposed "late spring" Grrrrrrrrrr that's what makes me furious !!!!
  4. HMmmmm while waiting the next CM, there are some ways the renew the pleasure of playing the older ones ... "Watch out Sgt. Steiner there's a KV tank dead ahead !" Okay, with that you gonna have some problems with your wife CMTV : Combat Mission on TeleVision Paulus
  5. With 3000 polygons for a soldier I was wondering how realistic and detailed wounds should be ... Can we expect to see as impressive injuries like in the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan or bullet hits like in Band of Brothers ? Even something approaching that kind of animation would be very satisfying If we have building damage like in Band of Brothers (especially the scene covering a battle in Holland), then I think the next CM would be THE BEST WWII game of the planet Well, I was just wondering about that ... 7. I diagnosize all the symptoms of the Combat Mission virus. It generally contaminates people for years and fill your screen with strange and loud things that women don't seem to understand. Nice work ! I enjoyed much the plans showing the general situation progressing With my WinMediaPlayer plugged on my TV I had a good time watching Combat Mission without having to do something Paulus
  8. I won a major victory with the Brits against a "regular" (experienced)human player, seeing great heroïsm of my men. My opponent never succeeded to get troops even in the first houses of the village. So unbalanced ? I don't think so. Paulus
  9. Truly great ! A perfect tool for the Eastern Front Paulus
  10. Alright, for my case, here is the solution I found (for a Netgear WGT624 router) First, go to the server's adress (for instance http://192.168.0.1) Then, in advanced settings click on Port Forwarding/Triggering. Open port 7023 in both forwarding and triggering options, for TCP mode. After that, I suggest you to reboot your computer Last, but not least, try this adress http://redwolf.dyndns.org/whatismyrealip/whatisyourip.cgi It will give the TRUE requested IP for your opponent to join your computer. Moreover there is a link just above to see if your port 7023 is open. This IP adress is very important !!! (btw I think it was your tip redwolf) Ta-da !!! Work fine for me ! Hope it will be the same for others. Paulus
  11. Problem solved !!! Thanks much ! Paulus
  12. Hi, Since I have a router installed in my house I cannot host anymore. CM troubleshooting guide instructions didn't succeeded to solve this problem ... This problem surely concers many people and I hope there is a solution ... Any idea ? Paulus
  13. Sure. Try "Task Force Stark", if you are interested in desert engagements.
  14. Good style Paulus PS : Tu aurais pu dire que c'était pour CMBB
  15. In my opinion I'd prefer the tactical 3D system to be perfected before all that stuff. The (initial) main objective of the game is to simulate and even recreate historical engagements, am I wrong ? Eventually, that's the way I most appreciate CM. Playing historical and well-built scenarios is the most pleasant way of playing Combat Mission. A perfected system of operations, or something like that, would add much interest to the way you fight on the battle map. But not much more is necessry to make us happy if the 3D system itself is more realistic and eye-catching compared to CMx1. Paulus
  16. Hi, I was wondering when one could D/L the ROW IV scenarios. Three months ago, Jwxspoon told me "yeah, yeah, in some week it will be up for D/L" Meanwhile, I was at the military school so not really able to play CM but during christmas make me a present B&T Paulus
  17. Characteristics : - Not especially broad (around 150/200 meters large in Paris, often not more than 100m) But it depends Whether you are in Rouen or in Sedan - Absolutely not swift, maybe excepted in the the first 100 kilometers of the river - Narrow in the first 50 kilometers (well, only the source of the river ) - Generally fordable in the first 60 kilometers For the second question, I don't have any clear idea. I'd suppose they used wedge platoon formations, with small frontages. But the grogs will answer you better Paulus
  18. The 75/L48 can knock out the IS-2 only at short ranges, and with a good shot on the turret. Meanwhile, that heavy soviet tank is one of the best way to knock out 75mm Pillboxes or anything which is equipped with that gun at more than 800m. (It works perfectly and the IS-2 can take all its time to reload ) Paulus
  19. I am particularly amazed by the second link ... That's impressive ! It provides a sufficient zooming system to accurately see each road, path, houses or fields ... Thanks for your help 1stUkr.Front ! Maybe the last time I ask for mapping resources ? (no, it's impossible by nature ...) As Sergei said, roads and even villages in Egypt, Lybia, Ex-USSR and Finland rarely changed since the war, at least in rural areas. Thanks again, Paulus
  20. With the amout of scenarios made in the Egyptian desert, there will be surely somebody who can send me Egyptian maps covering the whole sector of El Alamein, to recreate the incredible story of a 19 year-old german soldier who earned the knight's cross after destroying 9 enemy tanks in a single battle. He was the youngest man to recieve that award. Thanks by advance, Paulus
  21. Nice work, as always I particularly appreciate the winter version. Thanks, Paulus
  22. A little request for Dey : Your Romanian winterized uniforms are useful (mainly due to stalingrad battle) but they should look a bit more frosty to my mind ... I hope you consider my post Regards, Paulus
  23. I agree with Sivodsi. Despite modding those vehicles, no winter camou appears. That is also true for the early StuH.
  24. The review of the website : Review There are some extracts btw.
