yeah, I knew it´s "early access" and at ~25$ I couldn´t resist (again). lol 😆
yeah, it bits of suck without infantry and supporting weapons, but my curiosity won again. lol 😅
Yep, that´s among things that so far hindering me from purchase. Too little content, but I keep it on my list.
Just checked couple cardboxes containing all my games since the 1980ies (Atari 800XL, C64, PC)
Those that have some relation to 1st person view tank play in one way or another are:
    1. Steel Thunder, 1989
    2. Sands of Fire (360), 1989
    3. M1 Tank Platoon 1+2,1989, 1998
    4. Pacific Islands, 1992
    5. Armored Fist, 1994
    6. 1944 Across the Rhine, 1995
    7. M4 Tank Simulator, 1996 (PC)
    8. Panzer Commander, 1998
    9. iPanzer '44, 1998
    10. Panzer Elite, 1999
    11. Steel Fury Kaharkov 1942, 2007 (currently in my Steam)
    12. Panzer Killer, 2007
    13. Red Orchestra 1+2, 2006, 2011 (currently in my Steam)
    14. T34 vs Tiger, 2008
    15. Steel Armor: Blaze of War, 2011
    16. ARMA 1,2,3 (3 currently in my Steam)
    17. Iron Front Lib 44, 2012 (as ARMA 3 Mod in Steam)
    18. Gunner, HEAT, PC!, 2022 (now in my Steam)
(I neither like true arcade nor online play, thus I never tried or purchased any that stuff)
The hunt for THAT 3D Tank Sim still continues (WW2 or modern)..... lol😅🍻

I think me too, on an Atari ST into which I'd soldered extra memory (16 chips, each with 16 pins) directly onto the motherboard, yikes 😱.  I did like that game though, in between bouts (sometimes weekends) of Dungeon Master or the original Doom.

Played that one thrice so far- good, but it needs something.
Agreed with BletchleyGeek about the upcoming dynamic campaign that may add some greater sense of continuity. I'll definitely reinstall when they add infantry. Tank sims seem empty with them to me.
There are a bunch of interesting games relating to history dropping or that were released over the past few months. Good to see.

That was what knocked Tank Crew dead in the water for me (and I bought into Tank Crew very, very early and I was happy to keep an open mind). GHPC at least have been showing infantry operating TOWs and stuff, not sure if they have those already integrated into the game.

    When will be the release?
The ideal date will be the 22.06.2023. But I won't promise too much....for sure, release will be 2023 !
    What's the current progress?
The biggest campaign "Tiger Trail" is in its final testing stage as a Betaversion. It will be ready for 22nd June release.
The "Five Bridges" Campaign has seen most of the map making, which is (with my experience) the most time consuming aspect - testing will start in March.
The "Into Hell" Campaign the same.
The "Partisans" Land Campaign (the smallest of all) is in the middle of map making and will be ready for testing in April.
So - to quote the guys from Battlefront 😉 "it will be ready when it's ready."
Will there be any single Missions?
Currently, I have plans for 3 single Missions but I doubt to have the time to put effort in these ones. So, let's see....
Is there a possibility to increase the number of campaigns or single missions for that BattlePack?
Of course. As the headline says, this is a project made by fan(s) of CM and everybody who wants to participate is very welcome. Honestly I have to say that I have written a mail to Battlefront and offered them this stuff (without financial interests) in order to get designs, briefings etc. more professional but they ignored myself 😜
So, if anybody is motivated to create stuff, doesn't matter if one small single mission or a whole campaign, then this would be very appreciated 👍 The only condition is:
the stuff must match the BattlePacks main theme "Summer of Destruction June to July 1944, ArmyGroup Central".
Will there be any Master Maps?
Currently, the pack will include 12 Master maps but this number may change until release.

The BattlePack will have the title "Summer of Destruction" . Players will command Axis Forces of Army Group Central from
June 1944 to July 1944. Currently (see below) the pack includes the following stuff:

    Chapter I
    Mini-Campaign "Partisans Land"

The Player is commanding a mixed, reinforced German "Kampfgruppe" in June 1944 , attacking a wooded area west of Mogilew where strong partisan units are expected to have built a fortified strongpoint. 3 single Missions.

We have the announcement of a (hopefully) stunning new module for CMFB, for a absolutely great CMBN BattlePack, for a very interesting CMFI BattlePack - so WW II fans like me are happy wth the coming stuff in 2023.
BUT, something is missing....where is the CMRT ? No new content after the release of the fantastic BattlePack of George MC in 2022 😢

    And here it is:
While back after a long break, Mr.X was very busy and is working on a FanMade BattlePack for 2023. More to come....

Thanks for the info. Funny we had a similar discussion on a Chinese BBS yesterday. When a guy posted a paper showing this method is practical, another guy claimed to work in a similar industry came in. He said the paper is BS.
The argument lasted for a while and guess in the end we all had this feeling: Even if it is a “spy balloon mapping variations in gravity” mission, it can still be a “hoax”.  A “hoax” that is commonly seen in nowadays Chinese academic, industrial application and many other fields. A theory will be rushed into application without spending time on test and trial, in the meantime the head of project development will paint the future in the brightest color to the decision maker, so that more resource will be poured into the project.
Considering our great leader is eager to take a great leap forward that “overtaking at curves” on technology and military dominance, he would love to see all kinds of "innovations". He may ask the military branch to find a solution to rapidly increase nuclear force deterrence capability.  It is possible that some engineers present this not so practical idea. At least it shows they are working hard on a solution, not “lying flat” and betray our great Party and country.

Russians advanced about 20 body lengths today. Besides the sass, geolocated bodies do show no noticable gains outside of Bakhmut. Shaping operations for UA spring/summer offensive?

Some first summaries of battle of Vuhledar comes out in our channels. They vary in details, but they seem to have several common thropes:
-Russians managed to break through first line of defence within 48hrs and push into the outskirts if the town from S and E (note- it is rather blob of blocks in the middle of wide fields than sparse settlement like Bakkmut)
-meanwhile, they formed two additional pincers to sorround the town manouvre-style. Mostly navy infantry and motostrielki.
-these were stuck on minefields, but most of all blown by artillery supported by drones (exact role of last element still unknown). One of the columns , the one with packed vehicles, was most probably hit before even manage to deploy.
    - details wary, but it seems coordination between infantry and armour was luckluster- once hit by artillery, soldiers run out to cover, armour stayed desoriented, all while being shot in open fields (common situation, unfortunatelly sometimes happens to Ukrainians too)
-several mentions of strong Ukrainian counterattack that managed to push muscovites back to their holes and reinstate normal defensive lines. Situation stable for now.

These two games have a commonality that I picked up on, as well. I also like that one, and the Ln'L game gets the randomness down in my book better for something of this type.
Ln'L also has had a great art department, with (probably/maybe still) Marc von Martial doing his thing with the maps (since CC!) and (probably/maybe still) Nikolas Eskubi's counters. It's no mean feat to get a consistent look down for a game. Second Front's developer made the assets, I believe- I think he also sells them on the Unity store, so there may be some cart/horse criticism that the game contained oft-used stuff, when he made the art in Second Front in the first place. If the infantry were re-worked, I'd probably never give the look too much more thought.
I think part of my liking these two games in particular is that I really don't buy many board wargames (unless something with a really spectacular map!), and gave up on my (Napoleonic) miniature painting long ago. Second Front is like that desired miniature board diorama set-up, and Ln'L is a boardgame without the set-up/space commitment/tear down. And CM is for seeing how things may really have played out (and will remain my mainstay, due to its Editor, simulation properties, and other fine offerings). I'll give thanks to the computer on that one, but will miss the chance to someday set up a massive display of paper and cardboard nonsense like Drang nach Osten or Streets of Stalingrad in the middle of everyone's business here at home.

IMO BFC attempts dancing on one party too much. Get rid of RT or externalize it (seperate game), then optimize! Fix those things that were left alone for way too long, just in order to keep RT running with decent frame rates. Release some required info so that modders can be helped tackling things that were proved doable! Enough talents, passion and will around here. So WTF? 🧐 Maybe releasing a new game engine would be another option, before most of us die of old age. Well... at least there´s wargaming alternatives (...believe it or rather not) and time doesn´t stand still either. I don´t have another 50 bucks to spare for half hearted efforts. 🍻

I’d also like to know the LAV-AT bug story. I was one who reported it and found out it had been reported a long time earlier. It is far removed from shell casings - it has a significant impact on scenarios where the vehicle is present (and there are a few). How come it has taken so long to fix (and maybe still not fixed now, unclear if current patch has fixed)?
From this customer’s perspective, more focus on significant bug fixing would be appreciated, together with greater clarity as to whether it is a confirmed bug and whether it has been reported and eventually accepted/fixed waiting for next patch. If there is a way that we can help with that it would also be interesting to know.

After playing a bit more, I like it for what it is.
The developer added an "unlock all missions" toggle, which is greatly appreciated. Many of us are too busy to grind on anything, and know the basic wargame-format drill besides.
There are many calls for off-board/indirect-fire artillery, which isn't in. That may be added before any DLC, from reading the scuttlebutt on the various chatter-spots. That seems to be a fairly large missing bit so far. Maybe air as well, though it seems lass necessary at the scale.
    Main pains after more play-
-I find the camera restrictive- I want a free camera, every time. It's "3D" for a reason.
-The randomness is brutal. I embrace chaos and randomness as a fact of life, but it still seems to impact the game's relation to simulating reality in a negative way.
-No modding. WYSIWYG. I'd like to get at those graphic files to alleviate some of the comic-style elements.
    The good-
-Map maker/scenario maker is easy to use, and can do all manner of things in a fairly basic (hex-based) way.
-Soviet Union versus Germany, right out of the box. US, as well. Though no US vs. USSR.
-Campaigns seem to get around some of the gamey aspects, as they are contiguous.
