  1. THE RUSIANS ARE COMING ! THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING ! If only we knew when..... :-(
  2. Just to add something on this subject , I think that this would be a good option , but it also starts to create a little bit of micro management. You cannot have complete control over everything , can you ? I mean if you want to play a game with that kind of control over u'r units then I think that you should be playing a tank sim instead of a more tactical one like combat mission. Sometimes the armour does do funky things but you've got to remember that sight from inside a WWII tank is very limited , they don't have the all seeing eye of you , the commander......
  3. Hmm , so you can take the CD out of the drive once you put it in........
  4. Yes a road block would work for setting up , but what about during play ? I believe this would bring a new tactical twist to a battle. Suddenly u'r avenue of approach is now blocked (to vehicles anyway) and now u may need to change u'r strategy during play. Falling rubble would add a nice new twist to things I may say.
  5. And don't forget the DAIMLER AC. , the one shot kill on the move............yucky!
  6. Hmmm, back in my Squad Leader days that would be known as a critical hit(I know some of u know what I'm talkng about)the round has struck a vunerable part of the tank such as the vision slot or maybe bounced off of the bottom of the manlet or something of that matter. Anyway sometimes when you think everything is gonna go your way it doesn't. That's one of the wonders of battle which this game can show you all to well sometimes.Never underestimate what may happen.
  7. Sorry, but , I cannot divulge that information in the possibility that it may be used against me in a game of CM.
  8. Watched it, wasn't that good.......Not much real info. Not that good of footage ;Some sceanes they are talking about the T-34 and showing KV's,lame.........
  9. I hope u made that up..............Yuk ! I've never seen such a vehicle.......
  10. They both are 7.92mm . Both weapons are they same ,the only difference being the way they are set up. The hvy. being mounted on a tri pod and belt fed. Where as the Lt. MG being drum fed and had a by-pod instead.
  11. Some interesting information guys , but I would rather see the M3 Lee tank for Kursk battles than the T-44 which was a very rare bird indeed. Besides with the new Purchase Point Rarity Option in CMBB even if it is going to be in the game they will probably to expensive to buy I would think. Check out pg. 20 in Septembers issue of PC Gamer.
  12. Thanks Schrullenhaft, got it squared away, the prob. was with my zip program it seems. All I did was to re-install it and now seems to be ok. Thanks again.......
  13. Try as I may I cannot get one to work, (downloaded scenario)When I try to open it I get download not complete......I've downloaded many things before and not had a problem, but CM battles seem to get to incomplete. Have even saved to disk , but unable to use . I must be doin something wrong (obviously) but do not what. Maybe someone has had same problem and can aim me in the right direction.... Thanks
  14. Heres a little info for you , This is a paragraph from Osprey Military on the MK IV...... In one way the 75mm guns were a very mixed blessing. In spite of the designers' efforts to conserve weight, the new weapons made the vehicle nose-heavy to such an extent that the forward suspension springs were under constant compression ,with the result that the tank tended to sway about even when no steering was applied. The effect of this was compouned when the Aufuhrung H was introduced in March of 1943,as this model not only had integral 80mm armour on the bow, front plate and mantlet, but also had 5mm side skirts and turret girdle as a defence against hollow-charged ammunition. The Ausf. H wieghed 25 tons, and in spite of a new six-speed transmition borrowed from the PzKpfw III its performance was inferior to earlier models, cross country speed dropping as low as 10 mph on anything but good ,hard , level going. An exprimental version of the Ausf. H was fitted with an hydrostatic transmission ,but was not procceded with. I don't know about you , but , this sounds to me like firing on the move in a mK IV armed with the long barreled 75mm gun doesn't sound to likely to be able to hit much. And for that matter, most what I have read about WW II armoured combat , Most firing (if not all) was done while the vehicle was stopped. Russian doctrine on this I am not sure about, but the germans had the best optics in the world at the time and I doubt that not much could be hit on the move except as maybe area fire.(Thats just my own observation from what I have read over the yrs.) Just for arguments sake this is from ,The Sherman tank in British service [Main armament firing was almost always carried out stopped, and it is difficult to find anyone who remembers ever using the stabilizer for firing on the move.] This is from The Sherman Tank in US service, [The 75mm Sherman was one of the first tanks fitted with a gyro-stabilizer.Opinions on this feature vary, with most veterens claiming it was worthless and was generally left turned off.It was not fitted in some 76mm tanks. Some tankers who had better luck with it insist that it was rarely used because it took care to keep in adjustment and thorough training to use properly ,and most troops did not want to bother with either.AS a result , most firing was done from a halt.
  15. I've seccessfully removed mines on several occations , yes simply by placing engeneers close to the mind field. But on one occasion I just cleared a road of some daisy chains and had the squad move on and sent my Shermans barreling down the road when suddenly the first tank was destroyed ! by the mines that were just cleared a turn before.......majic...amazing, re-appearing mines. What a bummer. Anyone ever have a similar expierience ?????
  16. I'm printing out these rules as I type this reply out. Seems very interesting indeed.
  17. All good points I may say, but what about the guys that were on the second floor of that building you just turned into rubble, they just get up and run for cover. Shouldn't they have been destroyed with the rest of the building?
  18. Hey! where did that guy get a picture of my girlfriend ?
  19. I've read several stories of russian tanks actually crushing german 37mm atg's under thier tracks . I guess my question is will there be any type of overrun attack in CMBB ? Would be kinda neet to be able to make such attacks, especially in the early battles where anti-tank weopons were weak. Maybe this has been discussed before,I don't know and hope not to pay to dearly if it has........
