Well he didn't say they were closing down the GF. Although it does sound like it's been talked about in the past. But Moon I think your first view is much more accurate than the second. Hands down the main draw to the BF site is wargaming(CM mostly). I think we all know it. Heck if we did a vote on everybody that visited the GF I'd bet at least 90% owned at least one CMx1 title. I mean really, where else in the world can military/wargaming types flap their gums about SPAM.

LOL! Just got back from the grocery store and sure enough, Spam was on sale. I got the Lite version. I saw the bacon version, anybody try that, how is it? We were low on pretty much everything. So the damage was severe at $233, ouch!

To be more clear, that's three different installs on three PCs. So I'm pretty sure you can uninstall/reinstall on those three machine all day long. But the biggest complaint is that you can't unlock the game from any of those PCs. So they announced there will be a patch in the future which will give you the ability to unlock/de-authorize from PCs. Details here.

It's alright, I just had some the other day. I think it does get a bad rap. It's pretty convenient and there's not much else as far as canned meat goes. Also my grandma always tells me how great it was back in the WWII days. It was the next best thing since sliced bread.

Haha, good eye, yeah I'm trying to get a job in the IT field. I got my CompTIA A+ and Network+ certificates earlier this year. Wish me luck, I need it! So what do you all think of my MS paint skills? Should I put on my resume that I have mad paint skillz?

Anybody have any idea how long Steel Fury been out in Russia? I noticed there's mods for it already, most notably the Steel Panzer mod. Found some recent videos of it up on YouTube, and a video of a German Also there's a add-on for the game called Fall Blau. The teaser trailer looks great.

For anybody interested, Steel Fury is coming out Nov. 7th, press release here: I guess the boxed version won't be released in NA. I guess I'll do what I did with ArmA and buy the EU version from GoGamer.com. Here's the box art:

It should also be noted that BI was behind the xbox port of OFP. So I'm sure that slowed the ArmA dev time. Heck the xbox port came out only 3 years ago.

Awesome it worked, some were taken down. Now you can actually see threads right after the page loads. Now we don't have to do the unbearable and tiring process of SCROLLLING THE MOUSE WHEEL A SINGLE INCH. Seriously though, thanks for taking some of them down, it was getting a bit crowded.

IIRC COG did employ a backup system of sorts since the the Big Crash.

Well besides the usual coins and jewelry stuff, Civil War artifacts would be a good start. Of course the big pipe dream of finding a gold nugget still exists. But as far as WWII goes, I recall a guy finding a Japanese bomb in Hawaii awhile back. IIRC the Japs also invaded the Aleutian islands up in Alaska, but that's about it for any WWII stuff. But I don't think I'll find myself in either those places anytime soon. So what kind of MD do you use?

Any metal detector hobbyists out here? I've never tried this and know nothing about it. I've heard grand stories of people hitting a few jackpots out there. Or at least the more common, this and that paid for the detector in less than a week. Also the idea of finding a relic or artifact of any kind sounds fascinating to me. So I was thinking about buying one in the $200-300 range. I noticed there are a ton of different models out there. I was looking at either getting the Minelab Musketeer or the Whites Prizm II or III. Any other recommendations or tips/hints for this metal detecting noob?

Wow, just got the game over the weekend and am having a blast. I just made it to the tribal stage for the second time, forgot to save my original. Had fun playing through the creature stage again though. I thought I would be turned off by the early stages simplistic nature, but I dig it. It's hilarious watching my prey freak out and shake and run away as I eat the corpse of their buddy. I also saw a spaceship on my second run through the creature stage, was pretty neat. I realized I have a lot of evolving and advancing to do before making it to intergalactic space travel. I see it turns into a more traditional rts at the tribal level. I'm looking forward to the rest and will eventually try a peacefull herbivore on my next playthrough.

This was my fav board wargame, Crossbows and Catapults. Ok fine it's not really what your talking about. But as a kid I have fond memories of smashing my brothers castle. We would even take it a step further and make more buildings with decks of cards. Maybe even add some plastic army men to fill out the ranks. We also added rubber bands to our arsenals.

IMO, if you got the system specs, go with ArmA. Reason being is not because it's necessarily better than OFP, it's just a major graphics update.
