  1. I think this is hilarious and I hope he does go to jail.
  2. Hmmm, methinks JK and his friend are unaware of the trigger system in the CoD games. In some cases the enemy will continue to come at you until you start taking ground. If you don't move up then you will literally stay where your at killing enemy after enemy while your ammo depletes. I've never had ammo trouble, maybe with finding allied weapons to refill your default weapons. But theres oodles of enemy weapons out there, an overabundance. Anyways, for those that chose the best platform to experience this game on. For the PC, there is a new profile backup utility here.
  3. No but I was playing Monopoly the other day, you know the board game. I think this game is or was overrated, it's all about lucky rolls of the dice.
  4. Well how about that, go away for Turkey day and come back and see everybody chowing down on a meaty bone. Thanks Moon!
  5. Yes it was quite an ordeal, it was kinda like a CM community version of 9/11. Btw, when exactly did this occur? I'm thinking like late 04 maybe? (too lazy to dig around in the archives right now)
  6. Did you ever see that Kevin Costner movie "Field of Dreams"? It's just like that. Instead of the popularcatch line "if you build it they will come", just use "if you learn it you will love it" for CMBB.
  7. Bah, I understand the Kharkov43 link, but the unofficial patch link is commercial? Anyways, infantry seems decent to me. I was watching the infantry duking it out. I think AI is pretty good, infantry use cover and lay down suppressive fire. I was expecting a somewhat puppet-like infantry vs infantry mechanics. They don't appear to use your tanks as cover though. But as far as using the commands, it works good, your attached squads and tanks follow your commands accurately. You can pick them off as they pop up out of the trenches to take a shot at your own infantry. Basically you lay down suppressive mg fire over the tops of the infantry cowering in the trench until they route and try and take off. Then it's a slaughter. Or you can fire HE and try hit the back lip of the trench to get some kills. That's not easy though, expect to use up several shells per trench. One odd thing I did notice though, after enemy infantry die, their rifles turn bounce around like rubber or something. It's definitely a weird bug I heard their addressing in the patch.
  8. It's coming, sometime this decade I hope. Other than handing over the IL2 source code, the PC dev team had nothing to do with the console games. Oleg posted a development update a few weeks ago. Edited: I guess that would be a commercial link too. You'll have to hunt it down yourselves over at the 1c website. It's in oleg maddoxs room.
  9. Wow that thing does look pretty creepy.
  10. Hehe, I wouldn't mind, but we're heading to Hilton Head Island, SC tomorrow morning for the big Turkey day. Meeting up with some relatives from Florida. Anyways, got some good playtime in today. I played 3 missions in the T-34 and 2 in the Pzr IV-F2. It certainly delivers on making you feel apart of the battlefield with airstrikes, artillery, MG nests, and AT guns. Although it seems your primary task is taking out the fortified defenses. There is little tank vs tank engangements, although this is probably more realistic. There's only about a single platoon of tanks per side per mission. But this might be different in the other missions. So I would like to see bigger slugfests. But there is a scenario editor so I think we'll see loads of user created content. Oh by the way, the german optics are bugged, they aren't visible at all. There's an unofficial patch for it, you can download it here. The most memorable moment so far was moving in close to the ass end of a Stuggie and slamming two shells into him. I noticed he had a track blown off, so figured it was possible to get in real close. Then two crewmen managed to bail while on fire. So I put them out of their misery and gunned em down. Besides the Fall Blua add-on, which is supposedly already done. There will be a sequel moving on to the next year of the war, Kharkov 1943.
  11. Ok I got my copy in the mail today. Surprisingly it runs pretty good on this old PC(about 5 yrs now). My specs: P4 3.2Ghz XP SP2 1g RAM Geforce 6800GT 256mb SB Audigy I just finished playing the tutorials. The gunnery mission had me with no shells at all, kinda defeats the whole purpose doesn't it. Then on the commander mission nobody followed my orders, again, this defeats the whole purpose. The missions didn't work until I changed my realism setting from recommended to medium. So in this case, recommended means the exact opposite. But once I got the tutorials working it was instantly fun. In the commander mission I loved watching the KV drive over an AT gun and crush it. He backed up over it a few times for good measure. I tried it on the next AT gun position and was even able to run over some of the crew. I could hear the screams from the crunchies hehe. I haven't even played any of the actual missions yet. This my friends is treadhead heaven!
  12. They released a short in-game clip of Armed Assault 2. The interface appears to be reworked, at least a little bit. I think this is a good thing considering it was largely unchanged from OFP to AA. Check it out here!
  13. It is what it is, fast paced twitch shooter, nothing realistic about it. So if your looking for a OFP, Armed Assault, or RO like shooter. This certainly won't fit the bill. But having said that though, it's still a great game that runs great too. As far as feedback goes, no mixed reviews from the major media outlets. It's gotten solid reviews as seen from GameRankings.com. Although a word of warning to you and any other CoD5 players. Don't forget to backup your mpdatat file. My file got corrupted a few days ago and I had to restart from level 32 back to 1. But I've been playing on power leveling servers and got back to where I was pretty quickly. For XP this file can be found at: "C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Local Settings\Application Data\Activision\CoDWaW\players\profiles" For Vista it's found here: "C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\players\profiles"
  14. Not if you were around. Now get back to the sewer where you belong.
  15. My guess is that you installed a German Grau/Grey winter version, but your playing with the later models.
  16. I just got an shipping confirmation email from Gogamer.com yesterday. So it should be here within a week. But I probably won't get to it until after my Turkey day vacation.
  17. Welcome to the board BB! These kinds of posts bring back memories. The "stick to scenario default" or "free to place" options have nothing to do with your setup, troop numbers, equipment, or weather conditions. It only pertains to the AI at the setup phase. As for your setup zone, you can do whatever you like. If the designer wanted restrictions on your zones than he can and will limit your options. Oh and one more thing, the AI is dumb as nails when on the attack. Only play as the attacker or meeting engagements.
  18. Could it of been the Event Horizon, back from it's wormhole space travels? I sure hope not, god only knows what it's brought back with it.
  19. Wow, so much for that Dec. 5th release date, perhaps that's for us NA customers. I pre-ordered a copy myself from GoGamer.com so we'll see how quickly I get it. I noticed in the LH forums someone else in Denmark got their copy today too. The guy is very happy with it. Anyways, tell us what you think.
  20. FYI: Here's a very positive Armchair General preview. Yet another good sign for this tank sim. Also the game has been delayed about a month, the new release date is Dec.5th. Here is the gone gold announcement: Too bad my PC will probably choke and vomit trying to run this game, or any other new game for that matter. The time for a new PC is rapidly approaching.
  21. Nice to see more film being found. We can never have too much of this stuff. Here's a link to the full 16 minute film. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/27648023#27650485
