I see something like this being only semi-successful with the more mainstream console players. PC gamers will brush this aside like the rubbish it really is. Since most console gamers know games look best on PC, so this is their chance to play console/PC games without having to buy high end rigs. Wow, and for those thinking to login into Steam was bad, damn this is way worse. :eek:

Well, some guys like myself use the goal posts to judge shot location and where ever the goalie is, not necessarily his pads and equipment. But I suppose this can't hurt and it is clever. It's the same concept why some goalies use all white equipment. Back when I played net I'd try all kinds of things to mess with the shooters. A loud whistle to fake the sound of the ref blowing the whistle or yelling weird off the wall comments. One of my more successful tricks was to move my arms around a lot flailing my glove and blocker all over the place. It usually worked or at the least confuse or slightly delay their decision. Best used when facing a breakaway.

Wow, here's a shocker, Tripwire Interactives next game is "Killing Floor", a first-person co-op survival horror game. Details here. I think the whole RO community was assuming their free Unreal engine license would be used for some kind of a sequel. Now I understand if they want to branch out and try new stuff, but they've already got a nice community surrounding RO. But I heard they've hinted at two games in the works, so all bets are on the other one being RO 2. I sure hope so, RO is their bread ticket.

You sure about that? Check out this pic of my 1 week old system. I thought it was dependent of the graphics card memory myself. So my graphics card with 512MB would subtract from my memory, so I thought I'd end up with 3.5G of memory. As you can see that's not the case. Actually it's the same dev team that made Soldiers: Heroes of WWII, very similar to the Commandoes series. It's not a typical RTS game, more the thinking mans version of it. I really got into the original years ago. I think somebody had a thread about this game a while back. I did just happen to DL and try the demo last night though. It certainly brought back the memories. I see they didn't change much, kinda a good thing and a bad thing. Although I'll probably end up picking this one up much later in the bargain bin.

Well, some love them, some just don't care, I'm somewhere in the middle. It certainly can't hurt having a layer of stats, even though it's still no full stat tracking, but still this will do. Actually for RO, I think some of them are interesting and could be fun and tough to go after. Especially that "Vasily Lives" one, pick up a enemy sniper rifle and get 10 kills would be hard. That Toaster one would be tough as well, heck you'd probably need server cooperation for that one. It's very rare to bag a HT or carrier that's fully loaded.

Bumping it up, they just released a patch the other day. So, anybody try out the new "Fallen Heroes" map yet? I haven't DLed it on my new PC yet. Also haven't played RO in several months. Yeah but do you really wanna wave good-bye to current and future games by going back to old cards? I just got my new Vista PC myself on Tuesday and haven't gotten around to installing XP Pro dual-boot yet. I'm using my old PC for CMx1 duties at the moment. As long as you got an extra copy of XP laying around somewhere, won't cost you anything except time. It doesn't really look all that hard or complicated to do either. If your interested, here's a nice how-to article about setting it up. It looks pretty straight forward too.

Yeah it's somewhere between LMGs and HMGs, nobody really knows for sure exactly what the FP rating actually is. I think somebody did some tests a long time ago, not sure what the results showed. Don't really need them though.

It's like this, Steam is an acquired taste, give it time. Pretty much everybody hates Steam at first, I know I did. It's like a fungus that grows on you over time. I think it's great now with gaming groups/clans, buddy lists, and IMing. A great way to stay connected with gaming buddies, it's similar to Xfire. They also have really good sales too, I got Bioshock for only 5 bucks and Left 4 Dead for half off.

Yeah I got the same email too, very very sad to hear this. I met him through the KOTH 2 tourney early last year. After I managed to defeat him we continued playing each other. He was a keeper, a great player with a great attitude. The last email he sent me he mentioned his mother was ill and that he wouldn't be around for awhile. I often wondered whatever happen to him and his mother. Mick, best wishes to you and your family. I miss you man.

I don't have any first hand experience, but I've heard SB sound cards don't work with Vista at all. So your gonna have to use on-board sound instead. I would like to request one hour per month of pure anarchy on the BF forums. The Peng thread is nowhere near hardcore enough. It'd be a small window of time where anybody can say anything and post anything. Everything from porn to cussing people out and posting a pic of a guy with his pecker in a tailpipe. That always get a laugh!
