  1. Playing the Germans, I just started an operation in March 1943 near Kharkov and for my armor, the winter mods are not showing even though the terrain is Light Snow and my infantry are wearing their winter outfits. I did confirm that I installed the correct winter mods for the armor. Instead I just the summer paint on my armor. Anyone else ever have this issue?
  2. Just starting playing SC2 and was wondering what the little numbers beside the unit icons mean. I have some units with one '1' beside them and some with three "1's! beside them. I've looked through the manual and this board but can't find what they mean. If I did miss the info in the manual or this board, I apologize. But could someone explain what these numbers represent? Many thanks!
  3. On the same line, I upgraded my PC from a 3700+ and a 7900GS to an X2 4800+ and a 8800GT card and now the demo for TOW plays a lot better Looks like I'll be a purchaser of TOW very soon. [ December 05, 2007, 05:54 PM: Message edited by: Wally's World ]
  4. sudowudo, If you're still around, I managed to get a hold of an Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (Socket 939) that's compatible with the 939Dual-Sata2 board. For a pretty good price too. Since I don't want to wipe out my hard drive with a new motherboard install and don't want to go to Vista yet, this was the best option for me. 5. Thanks Schrullenhaft for the reply. susdowudo, I have the San Diego too and it's a great CPU. But I'm debating whether to upgrade the CPU or wait another year and just get a new motherboard and CPU bundle.
  6. Thanks for the reply, Schrullenhaft. The problem was the PSU giving unsteady voltage. My hard drive is also showing signs of failing so I'm replacing both of them. The good news is that the data on the hard drive is 100% fully intact and can be transferred to the new drive with no issues. Sorry, but I have another question about upgrading the CPU. Since my Asrock 939Dual-SataII motherboard is socket 939, my upgrade paths from my Athlon 64 3700+ is restricted. However I did find an Athlon 64 X2 4200+ socket 939 CPU OEM for $86 CAD. I would have to add a heat sink and fan to it, of course. Would it be worth the money to go from a 3700+ to an X2 4200+? Would I see much, if any, performance increase for the price over the 3700+? I've read both yes and no answers to this question when others have asked. Or would an X2 4800+ CPU for $249 US be the better choice? My PC is almost used strictly for gaming purposes. I'm just trying to squeeze some extra life out of my setup before I do a major upgrade and probably go to Vista. [ November 07, 2007, 12:18 PM: Message edited by: Wally's World ]
  7. Getting a weird boot problem since last week where I turn on my PC and the hard drive light comes on, but nothing happens. Nothing at all on the monitor. Only when I hit the reset button does the PC actually boot up XP. If I restart the PC from XP itself, it reboots find. It's only the very first start-up of the PC do I have to use the reset button. Other than that, the PC works perfectly. I ran a disk check on the hard drive and it found nothing wrong. Any ideas? Many thanks for all replies. 8. AdamL, so you are saying that the frame rate increased with the beta driver or just the quality of the graphics? I have a 7900GS myself.
  9. It is the Antec SmartPower 2.0 450W PSU. My CPU is the Athlon 64 3700+ 2.2GHz San Diego chip with 1MB L2 cache. Unfortunately it is a 939 socket motherboard (ASRock 939Dual) that I have.
  10. Hello, A non-CM related but technical question, if you don't mind. I currently have an Athlon 64 3700+ CPU and 2GB Ram with a 7900GS video card and also an Antec 450W PSU with a 32A (15A+17A) rating on the 12V railings. I am looking at purchasing an eVGA 8800GTS 320MB video card for my system, but was wondering if it is worth it and could my PSU easily handle the new card at peak loads. The specs for the 8800GTS card says that a 450W PSU with a minimum of 26A on the 12V railings is required. My 450W PSU specs: +3.3V +5V +12V1 +12V2 +5V SB -12V Max. Load 32.0A* 30A* 15A* 17A 2.0A 0.3A Min. Load 0.5A 0.5A 0.4A 0.4A 0A 0A Load Reg. ±5% ±5% ±5% 5% ±5% ±5% Ripple V(p-p) 50mV 50mV 120mV 120mV 50mV 120mV * +5V, +12V1, 12V2 and +3.3V maximum output: 410 Watts max * +5V and +3.3V combined output: 150Watts * +5V, +12V1, 12V2 and +3.3V maximum output: 410 Watts max * +5V and +3.3V combined output: 150Watts 1) Can my current PSU handle the 8800GTS with no issues? Or should I consider purchasing a more powerful PSU? 2) With my current specs, is it worth upgrading from a 7900GS to a 8800GTS with still a 3700+ CPU? I have no desire to go Vista now or in the medium term future so I am not interested in the 8800GTS for DirectX 10 support, just faster performance. Many thanks for any and all replies. 11. I've got a 7900GS and it's working just fine with CMSF. I'm using NGO's 1.9792 drivers.
  12. Well as someone who has only tried the demo, I think maniac_mat may have a point. Especially if that second tank is 1000m away like maniac says it is.
