  1. To hell with playing any shooters on a console with a controller. They may have armies of little spazoid kids ready to play. But I'd gladly stick to PC communities any day over consoles.
  2. The odds of finding somebody on this site that will part with CMSF or two CMx1 games for ToW are slim to none. So I have one word for you... .. eBay!
  3. I posted a preview of the new OFP awhile back. For those that missed it, here it is again. This was great to hear and a fear we all have. There's certainly room for both of these games, at least to keep BI on their toes. A good thing for us customers/fans.
  4. Wow, the Trial by Fire mission is semi-broken. Can't get by the APC, the chopper that's called in gets blown out of the sky and I hit it with 2 RPGs and it did nothing at all. So I see the mission funkyness is still there from A1, gotta restart it for the 3rd time. The first time my team was frozen, wouldn't move to next waypoint. I've seen the AI do both, use cover and just stand around out in the open. So that's kinda hit or miss. I'm honestly considering not buying this game next week, might wait for the patches. It'll be first time I haven't bought a BI game on release day.
  5. Well to be fair, these are first reactions to the demo, not the full game. I'm in the camp that even if there isn't much changes then I'll still buy it. The first ArmA was great IMO and I'm sure the sequel will be worth it.
  6. I was thinking of starting a thread and asking this very question. I have just recently "gotten into" CMSF. Yeah took me awhile, had the game since launch and tried several times but it just didn't stick with me. So add another customer that falls into this group, $40($10 savings) module bundle sounds right to me.
  7. I was thinking exactly the same thing with the demo. They shouldn't call it ArmA II but ArmA: Facelift. Still fun though and I'll probably still buy it.
  8. Thanks for the reminder, I forgot about this. Looking forward to it in 2010.
  9. Hmm, this doesn't sound right. You got a 3.0Ghz dual core in 03, are you sure it's dual core? Reason I ask is because I got my old Alienware rig back in x-mas of 2002 and was a single core 3.0Ghz. Think it was the best or very near the top end. Hell the best dual core I found just a few months ago was only 3.3Ghz. I decided to go with the quadcore Q9550 @ 2.83GHz myself. The quads offer much more power, but the problem is that as of today, few apps/programs take advantage of them.
  10. So your saying those that bought only the DL version can't DL the game anymore at all? That doesn't sound right. I don't know much about it since I bought the physical+DL combo. The game is still being offered as DL, so don't see why you or the many others can't redownload it. Something smells fishy....... and knowing BFs track record, the odor is coming from your direction mat7861.
  11. Oh, by the way, a few tips for anybody interested, customize the ones with the free shipping tag. I was able to customize those to almost anything I needed. And search for discount codes, google "cyberpowerpc discount codes" or similar, you should find something out there for even more savings. You can also search their forums as well. Ok I'll shut up now, before I start sounding like a sales rep.
  12. I just bought a custom pre-built rig back in March from CyberpowerPC. They got pretty cheap prices with solid customer support. They've won tons of awards too going back several years now. I remember a few people from Toms hardware and Firingsquad tech sites compared some builds part by part with Newegg and found a very small price difference, less than $50 saved overall. Unless you enjoy building your own, now a days, the price savings aren't as much as they once were. But of course if you went to places like alienware or falcon northwest, then you'll still be paying an arm and a leg.
  13. "If I don't get a pizza here in 10 minutes, I'm letting the MONKEYS loose!"
  14. Damn, the pic could be mistaken for a pic of the new Terminator movie. So how about making a star destroyer or the death star. There certainly seems to be enough steel for those.
  15. Ah well, can't win em all. As with the whole series, except game 5, a very tight and close game that went right down to the wire. I'm just glad it didn't come down to some lame call by the refs or a fluky goal. Good solid road game by the Pens. In all honesty, kinda fitting as well. Last year the Wings were clearly the better team, not by much though. This year, Pens closed that gap and made it a very close series all the way through. Pretty much every game of the series either team could of won, not including game 5 of course. And of course it was great to see Lemieux hoist the cup.
  16. I think it's true, but I guess it depends on what your definition of "plenty" is. Just checked their turkey day record, past decade they went 3-7. Honestly, that's slightly better than I thought it would be, so sad LOL.
  17. I tried being a Lions fan myself, it was just too painful. Especially being at family gatherings for Thanksgiving every year and watching the Lions get slaughtered, year after year.
  18. Hey, I tried telling you guys the Wings were gonna repeat this year. Remember, I created this thread at the beginning of the playoffs. I have graced these forums with my genius, your all welcome.
  19. Bah, buncha barbarian grog-wannabies. If you guys don't watch it, I'm gonna come chop your heads off.
  20. I think this is part of the reason why Red Orchestra is a success, although it's primarily a shooter but it has sim-like tanks. Love it or hate it, these guys are onto something. Fitting nicely between hardcore sims and arcade shootfests. I've never heard anybody say IL2 is too hard, the game is genius. You can fully scale it to your liking, from full hardcore sim settings all the way to turning it into an arcade shootfest. I mean really, if you don't have the patience to map controls to your joystick than thats hardly the games fault. Anyways, I was under the impression this PT boats was more of a sim than arcade. Oh well, either way, gonna try out the demo shortly.
  21. From what I've read and heard from friends, it's a bomb. It will still probably do well at the box office though. Whenever anything scores below a 50% at Rotten Tomatoes, I hesitate to go. It only managed a 33% at RT.
  22. I'm assuming CS stands for customer support. Nonetheless, I have no idea and can't answer any of your questions. I guess it would be the same as for other countries, based on the company of course. So the CS for AoC in the states for me has been pretty good and can be measured in minutes. Maybe perhaps the same could be said for the Russian counterpart. So are you moving to Russia or something? I don't know but my 80 Barbarian loves chopping off heads! http://aoc.yg.com/profile?h=QW0ZJyo9
