  1. How do you reckon "very few people" used "Labels?" Personally, I had it on all the time and liked the feature. I agree, the removal of some CM1 features in CM2 make CM2 harder and more time-consuming to play. It's weird to see a system go backwards in some aspects.
  2. Fun if you like just being patient and hiding. Maybe add a rescue platoon trying to fight its way to him a la SPR?
  3. Here.... you can get this and develop your own games: http://www.ternion.com/#news/releases/FLAMES_10.0_Released.htm?utm_source=FollowUpNotSeenAtIITSEC-FLAMESRelease-269-1&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=2011-IITSEC
  4. Well, I do know what you mean... I see it as a nice addition to the CM series, but I prefer playing CM2 vs the AI as it does seem like a lot like work sometimes, and playing vs human takes sooo looong...
  5. Well yes, I hope for larger scenarios on the scale we used to have in CM1. And also more opportunity for maneuver and Combined Arms. (I really miss not having more tanks and vehicles in the infantry-centric CMBN.)
  6. 1) Advice: Don't play in RT as it sucks (and if you pause every few seconds to redo orders, it is most unrealistic).
  7. Scout will break off a 2 or 3 man group - usually armed only with rifles (occasionally a smg). Assault will split off about 5 guys armed with shorter range weapons and the 2nd group will have the longer range support weapons (MG, Shrek/bazooka etc). Split simply splits the squad into the 2 or 3 units displayed in the columns. AT splits off a 2-man AT team.
  8. I can envisage the fun of super heavy arty on a large urban map just to see the scale of destruction. But, since lucky/unlucky strikes could wipe out the targets it seems out of place in a game like CM which features maops/scenarios tat are small compared to CM1 scenarfios. Maybe vs the AI you can turn an impossible mission into a winnable one, but I wouldn't want to be the target player in a human-human game.
  9. U&^&U%*&* *&%*#%$# &)*_)@# and ^%** you very much! And have a wonderful Xmas while you're at it...
  10. Yes, since we donlt know how far off the new module is, it would be shame to not be able to get feedback on the work you've done. You'll probably have lot of new ideas when the Brits arrive.
  11. Looks great. Anyone have a comprehensive list of all Italian Theater mods and where they're located (since some may be at CMMODS and not here and vice versa)?
  12. gautrek: How come we haven't seen any CM2 mods from you? Your superb weathered CM1 mods were as amazing as Aris' mods are today.
  13. Yeah thanks... I have that old mod, but it wasn't in the same quality league as what Aris and now Bullgod is doing and was immediately replaced when Aris came out with his wonderful work. So, I hope we can now see camos for specific formations like PL...
  14. Thank you... Given that we have all those wonderful "non-camo" mods from Aris, may I again humbly suggest that you focus on specific formations - like Panzer Lehr.
  15. When I see how much work you are putting in to make an xnt map it's a huge discouragement from trying to design any maps/scenarios myself in CM2. I am in awe of what you and the other map and mod folks are accomplishing.
  16. Lovely camo work. How about a set of vehicles for Panzer Lehr - now that we have a campaign for that unit.
  17. I am only surprised that you did not burn out earlier considering the incredible pace and quality standards that you set for yourself, Aris. Probably better if you slow down and do this stuff only when you want to... so it stays fresh and fun for you. It would be tragic if you burn out and just stop doing your stunning mods. The fact is that I doubt if anyone else can fill your shoes. (If the could, they would already be doing em.)
  18. I have all modules. And I would like more Joint Ops Scenarios/Campaigns.
  19. Fuser: Bullgod has demonstrated what I was trying to say in his effort. His are almost TOO much in the way he outlines all the features to make them "pop". If you do yours halfway as much hopefully your vehicles' features will look well defined as well as beat up. Your skirts look terrific BTW.
  20. It's a really great effect, but as you can see the colors stand out from the terrain, so am wondering if these are more appropriate to a dry dusty location, North Africa, Italy? I especially like the dark outlines around the panels etc. It makes the models' features "pop". Fuser: That what was what I was trying to say in my post to you.
  21. It is a campaign that should be played only when one is experienced. I suspect some dove into it when CMBN first came out and suffered. I played other campaigns and scenarios first and enjoyed C&F. The last scenario in the campaign is large and really good. School of Hard Knocks was grueling, but a great trainer.
  22. I am thinking of the way model makers do it when theur paint the details on their models to make them stand out. For example, darker lines where two metal plates join, esp. when at an angle; a shadow line along every bit that sticks up from the surface of the tank. Make the model details "pop" out a bit - like the two partial circular metal lines on the top, the periscopes, where the gun barrel enters the mantle, tools, headlamps, the spare gear on the back, rivets... At the moment it looks like the entire vehicle is evenly lit from all directions and that tends to destroy the 3D illusion and makke details harder to see. But, am painfully aware that it's easy to have ideas. Execution is everything. You are the one who knows what he's doing, not me...
  23. We can delete the earlier mods than "e" now, yes?
