  1. Where's the handprint on the top by the cupola?? I thought that would be like your signature graphic.
  2. Yes thanks, I already d/l'd from CMMODS. (I check there as well as here every day when I am in town.) Looks great. However, I also like Lt Smash's WW2 era icon mod. So not sure which I will use the most. (Actually, if you ever consider doing a WW2 era type icon mod...)
  3. It's made for CMFI and it works in CMBN. I could try it in CMSF and CMA, but since they are WW2 icons... Oh wait, I misunderstood your question... Yes the scenario I tried was in fact CMBN. What is a scenario in CMFI that has aufklarungs units? I should try that.
  4. I was not complaining about the AI. I think the CM2 AI is impressive and gives the solo player a good time - especially if one's personal goal is to accomplish missions with minimal casualties as in CMSF and CMA. (I know WW2 players have less problem suffering relatively huge casualties, so this is just my little foible.) Re the Conrath Campaign I was commenting on the final scenario, where one has so few units for such a massive map, and I simply didn't find it as interesting or enjoyable as the rest of the campaign. I think the problem was that it purported to be "realistic". (Which generally means one will have a miserable time lol.) That's why I like it when a designer says "this is fictional" since that means the scenarios have been designed to have fun. Again, I know that some players want "realistic". Other of us, prefer to have a good time playing a game. It's just a question of taste. So long as there are plenty of scenarios and campaigns available, both constituencies can have what they want.
  5. I like all of Schultz's list however, in terms of GAMEPLAY, the few that would make the most improvement and help speed up gameplay would be: 3. Exterior 'ACQUIRE". Stop making us jump inside to grab ammo. Same or adjacent action spot should be fine. (I understand that it takes time to get ammo from a truck, but in RL, a squad could entirely split into one and two man teams and enter several vehicles simultaneously to scrounge for ammo. Currently, if you need ammo from one vehicle and rockets from another, and different ammo from a third etc etc it takes forever in WEGO mode and adds nothing to the entertainment value, AND is unrealistic.) 7. Fix the ammo sharing so Bearer ammo is used FIRST. Also, of course bring back the "easy click" 180 degree arc. These three would reduce frustration and waste of time issues the most.
  6. The only visual problem I see in any of my CM2 games is when I have a large scenario and units are moving (they move a bit jerkily). I have 64 bit Win 7 and 6GB Ram. Would this <bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVA 3072> help my system performance or have no effect? Thanks...
  7. Wonder how many of those we would build for the cost of just one M1 tank?! Like the old gamey "jeep armada" trick. Well, if it works in a simulation like CM, then surely...
  8. Re alternative CMSF topics, am still hoping a designer might consider Egypt and/or Syria Civil War scenarios/campaigns.... esp since we already have a good Libyan Campaign available.
  9. FYI: I tried out the mod in a scenario with aufklarungs units which I thought would mean "recon" but the auf's were ID'd as regular inf rather than recon.
  10. umlaut: Am delighted to playtest vs AI... Maybe H2H if my arm is twisted (real hard)... I'll try First Clash. Thanks George...
  11. Ok... sounds good to me and my crack core loyalist troops.
  12. Your website is fascinating ww2steel. Really impressive welding/metal working abilities and also pilot credentials(!) And all that work on CM stats - really impressive Hungarian tanks book. Hope things are working out for you better these days.
  13. A pleasure to read something so well written and clear. Altho', what are "sangars"? Presumably certain, if not all, buildings have a penalty cost for damage to penalize destruction of civ property?
  14. It's a great little tank. Wish there were more scenarios in which they could shine.
  15. AFAIK it's only available as a campaign. What I like about playing vs the AI is attempting minimal casualties. I am halfway thru mission three, and so far I have only lost about 3 guys from my core forces. (More from the non-core, but I guess they are set up to be more like cannon fodder and I am a bit more careless with them.) Am also enjoying the large maps so flanking maneuvers can be made. Nonetheless I have made an effort to lead with the Crack core recon guys so they get the most dangerous assignments (along with the Mercenaries) while using the non-core militia and mech forces as fire support and to hold/defend Victory locations. Was hoping to get some RL tactics hints re how Syria/Libya CO's would handle this sort of strange force mixture, and it's disapponting that no one seems to know. The BMP 3's and Shilka's rock! And next mission #4 offers the first use of a TURMS T72.
  16. Hopefully, it will give CMSF a whole new base of users. Have been enjoying CMSF again.
  17. Have "rediscovered" CMSF and have been playing that a lot more than WW2. (Curently playing the Libyan campaign which I highly recommend.) Looking forward to your campaign. Sounds like interesting units and situation.
  18. This one will be MUCH appreciated. The horizon aint half bad either.
  19. And am still suprised that we don't have any interest in an Egyptian Civil War scenario given current events. The fact that the Egyptians have M1's and presumably other US equipment would make it a fascinating situation. (Presumably the Syrian terrain etc of CMSF would be similar.)
  20. Man... I am really surprised that it appears that only Charles and I have played this campaign. I'm halfway thru mission #2 and it's very good. The mix on units is very interesting and different from any other CMSF scenario or campaign I have ever played. And I thought there would be at least a few people who would have the answers to some tactics questions.
  21. Looks very interesting. Will this be a map (only), or a scenario?
  22. And speaking re RANGER, it appears it's being developed as a computer game now: http://www.defensenews.com/article/20121207/TSJ01/312070004/Ranger-Training-Board-Game-Goes-Digital?odyssey=tab
