  1. Thank you! There are some wonderful icon mods out there. But, yours really gives that WW2 look. Glad it works in both games.
  2. Wow... when I saw that snow etc., my heart missed a beat. I miss Ardennes (and East Front) SO much! Awesome work.
  3. Not sure what the outcome of this. Is it more accurate to have aluminum buttons, or the painted variety?
  4. I agree that the NATO round should not work with the Afghan AK's. However, it's never been made 100% certain if generic 7.62 ammo will work for everything that has "7.62". From many playings over the years I get the feeling it's been fudged. Which is fine in this case. Regardless, I always find that it's my Afghans or Red forces that will run out of ammo quickly since they are never issued with much to start with. If this is a scenario based on RL, did the Afghans have any resupply? If they did, you should give em a truck or two. (How else did they even get there since the Brits have transport?)
  5. I really like the look of this. However, when I was setting up I realized that am not sure if the 7.62 ammo in the Brit vehicles will resupply the Afghans. If not, shouln't there be at least one afghan vehicle for their resupply.
  6. I know. I found Hab. But, for the 2nd time I looked through NATO, BRITISH, MARINES modules under alphabetical and author... and somehow I can't find the scenarios. A simple simple link would be very helpful. Were there any announcements of the scenarios being posted? Or, maybe I was traveling and missed em. Anyhow, which module section are they in, and a date would be helpful... Thanks.
  7. Al Jazeera is here already. I bin watching it a lot - very interesting take on world affairs, and tons of coverage of Syrian situation. (Was surprised that no one in the ME seems to support Assad - according to AJ.) And yes, as a "Brillaint" user, it's creeping into US films and TV a lot.
  8. So, can we permanently delete the "MikeyD CMSF T55/T62 tank mod pack" and only use the "partial patch" as required? Thanks...
  9. MikeyD also did a "T55M_T62M partial patch_Afghan" file for his T55/T62 mod. I find it hard to tell, but one would think that it is supposed to improve something in CMA, or are you sure it does not?
  10. Note however, that you can MOUNT a vehicle at any waypoint provided the vehicle is stationary long enuff for the unit to load.
  11. You should probably patch all machines to v1.32 as well.
  12. Yes, you need a LOT of micromanagerment to play CM2 games well.
  13. Many truck drivers have reported the same problem... possibly you need to d/l a patch for the make of truck. What model is your truck? Seriously, check you have the same version of the game on both computers with the same modules as well. Each game should see the same files.
  14. I rather wish BF did completely abandon CM1 as then maybe they would give it to someone else to work on. The fact that they want to hold onto it makes it appear that they do see value in it and don't want it revived as it could take customers away from their more profitable CM2. CM1 is alive and well at various fan sites like WeBOB: http://webandofbrothers.yuku.com/
  15. 1 - Inf units should be broken into teams and MANUALLY given assault tactics. Never use the ASSAULT oder as it usually ends in disaster. 2 - You have to TARGET fire (with as much power as you have) for a several minutes at the building you intend to enter first to suppress/kill defenders. 3 - Enter with one team still firing while the rest of the platoon or whatever you have in support continues to fire LIGHT. 4 - Set the destination waypoint of the inserting team to 360 degrees so it stops firing and can fire in any direction. 5 - HIDE is unhelpful since it literally means "bury your head in the sand and don't look up" (as opposed to "seek cover" which is what CM2 units are supposed to do as a default). MOUT is bloody - expect to suffer high casualties as in RL.
  16. I lost battle 3, but still advanced to battle 4 which I won with a major victory despite not doing any better (imo) that in battle 3. So, I don't understand how victory levels are calculated. It seems suicidal tomove the units close to the road, so I can't figure out how to use the mine unit with uits charges. The orders are always to finally withdraw. But, there are no points indicated for a successful exit, so not sure if one may as well just CF when one feels one has accomplished what one can. Also, in battles 4 and 5 the briefing says there is no way to climb down the mountains, so again... what is the point on the mine unit when it has very little ammo and can't get anywhere close enuff to use the explosives?
  17. re map edge world, am still unsure why it changed from CM1. Items that make your campaign memorable, is the verisimilitude - the "feel" of realism. I like the "story" in the briefings, even the shortage of ammo, and I like the sense of building up to bigger and better things with more equipment and ammo if one is successful (which I hope will continue after my battle 3).
  18. Nice atmospheric clip (and suitable music...)
  19. Yes, that what was I was alluding to. Many (including me on occasion) forget to remove the Z folder when doing patches and upgrades despite the warnings to do so from BF. My understanding is that it is possible to mess up a mod or create some problem (in addition to the fact that some mods may not be compatible with the new version - but there's nothing one can do about that until one sees a problem).
  20. It was a good question - still not answered... So, does he need to need to run the 2.0 installer again if he installs the CW module over a v2.0 CMBN? Since CW was not v2.0, I would think one does need to do that. (PS Evo6tme: If you have any mods in your Z folder, move the folder out of the CMBN game folder before you install a patch and afterwards move the Z folder back to its originalk position.)
